  • I know exactly what the guys are talking about here. My own brother, Marc, was a lifelong smoker; his cancer was dormant and undetected for 20 years. He needed an operation to have all of his teeth pulled at once because he had infections; the shock from the extractions fully woke up the cancer and murdered him in 4 months. He was 52 when he died. If cancer was a real person I would be in favor of capital punishment.

  • SHIAT OMG

  • no, chriss angel talks like Paul Stanley from KISS.

  • the second guy talks like chriss angel from mind freak

  • If they ever get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I hope they acknowledge "Eric Carr". He was a great drummer. His drumming help turn the band around, and made them what they originally was, a heavy metal band, saving us fans from that pop/disco sound they had coming out of the late 70's. R.I.P. Eric.

  • They treated him so badly at the end.

  • R.I.P. ERIC...MISS YOU DUDE!

  • wish he was still with us

  • In Wealth or poverty, No Man is an island.

Cancer is no respecter of people.

  • Rock on Eric, rock on.

  • R.I.P Eric Carr, THANKS for GIVING us real music.WOW it has been 20 years.ROCK ON!!!!!

  • On Thanksgiving the 24th will mark the 20th anniversary of Eric Carrs passing. Light a candle on this day to honor this kind and gentle man. We'll remember you Eric always and we love you. RIP

  • we miss you Eric!!

  • I got a drum stick from Eric at the 1987 show. It was the very first one he threw out that night. I still have it to this day.

  • RIP ERIC!!!!

  • Gone too soon.

  • @ClinchFighter911 they seem the same to me ..i seen a video of him and peter criss drumming together side by side playing rock and roll all night ..they both sound the same and peter criss was doing the same thing as eric carr if ether one was out of beat it would have sounded like shit ..but it sounded great so that means they are both great drummers ..ones not better then the other

  • My Uncle met Eric at a Kiss Concert, He met Vinnie Vincent too. He said Eric was very nice, and Vinnie was nice too. But He said Vinnie being nice was shocking, wouldn't you agree?

  • R.I.P Eric Carr :( KISS wouldn't be the band it is without you...You'll always be remembered.

  • This must be the only time i´ve ever seen Gene is close to crying. It´s hard to belive Eric has been away from us for 20 years :(

  • @0720Rico Actually, in a recent ep. of Family Jewels, he visits his dad's grave and totally loses it. Really hard to watch. It's on YT if you're interested.

  • @lurch321 I saw that footage of Gene at his father's grave. It was difficult to watch, yeah. I lost both my parents recently and the first grave visit isn't something I'm ready for yet.. Anyway, on the upside, I think it showed everyone that Gene is human after all and his own admission that he's stubborn to the point of arrogance was really humble and sincere.

I like to think that realisation is what made him marry Shannon, too. :)

  • Another awesome drummer gone to soon. Oh yea, By the way, 3 people really suck

  • The 3 people who disliked this vid are complete assholes. What's wrong with people these days?!!!!!! FFS!!!

  • What documentary is this from????

  • you can clearly see that the one that suffered the most with Eric`s passing was Gene... he truly loved the hell out of Carr....

  • @CactusG26 --i wanted to believe this...Read the book The Eric Carr Story&watch the DVD Inside the Tale of the Fox"The Eric Carr Story" then let me know what u think...i've been a KISS fan for 30yrs..Eric was w/them the 1st time I ever saw KISS..Never a benefit for Eric Carr in the dvd Mark Slaughter wanted to do one for him b/c Eric gave Gene their Demo. Mark said we were stopped by the KISS machine aka Gene&Paul&told we couldn't use his name(Eric Carr's)RIP Eric Carr Fox Man 20yrs almost

  • This is heartbreaking :(

  • R.I.P Eric Carr. :(

  • Heard he was a super-sweet guy that really cared for the fans.

  • very sad.

  • RIP Eric Carr... I wish you were still here man.

  • @KayBellen he had lung cancer surprisingly he didn't smoke. RIP Erik Carr

  • @drummingfreak1996 Actually he had heart cancer not lung cancer.

  • @MrRapman127 Huh. I always thought he had lung cancer. Weird..

  • 3 people don't have a hearth...

  • @gitarrtim heart**

  • @gitarrtim 4

  • @gitarrtim it juust got wores 4 people have no F***ing heart

  • Q.E.P.D. Eric Carr eres irremplazable

  • Eric Carr is waiting up in heaven to get KISS together so they can play for God.

  • Never say goodbye. :(

  • Never say goodbye.

  • God Bless You Eric Carr wherever you are.

  • sad face...

  • For any of you that dont know the TRUTH, KISS' management at the time (no, they were not managing themselves, although they say they were), were the ones who cut Eric's life insurance. The band members kept paying for Eric's medical bills and so forth. There are people out there today CLAIMING to be trustees in Eric's affairs, yet all they are really doing is trying to make money off his name. PERIOD.....END OF STORY........and yes, that includes his sister.

  • I just wanna sit down and cry

  • That was a really bad day when Eric Carr died; it was the same day Freddie Mercury passed away IIRC. And Kiss and Queen were two of my favorite bands.

I still remember hearing Creatures of the Night for the first time - after the drumming in the Elder, I wondered if my cassette player was running too fast.

    R.I.P. Eric

  • My only question is... Gene & Paul, Will you do anything to aknowledge Eric Carr now? Eric Singer should have made up like Eric Carr after peter left so Eric Carr's legacy could have lived on too.

  • AMEN R.I.P. criss

  • R.I.P. Eric Carr

  • Look at Gene hold back at 0:17, no one should die at the age of 40. That's too young.

  • kiss is still awesome!!! eric was indeed the best drummer kiss had rip eric carr but why say gene and paul suck thanks to them kiss is still kiss and it was ace's and peter's fault for not being in the band and vinnie vincent kinda sucks in a way i think paul gene eric carr eric singer bruce ace peter are the best but tommy thayer and vinnie not really

  • Real emotion from Gene.

  • I wonder what KISS would be like if Eric never died or needed heart surgery.

  • i get the shivers whenever i watch this. y does cancer have to take so many lives of so many good people.

  • @LeMcCHarStar4ever -I agree with you.. Cancer has taken so many of my family, friends, co-workers, it's horrible..R.I.P. Eric Carr Fox Man 4ever!

  • RIP long live the fox

  • my favorite drummer fuck

  • This mother fuckers fired Eric when he was dying in the hospital.

  • @attila6661

They announced that Eric Singer would be their next drummer after his death. So delete this wrong comment.

Or it's possible that you don't like KISS, but Eric Carr.

  • @Davux1995

Thats a fucking lie, inform yourself. Gene Simmons sucks, he destroyed Kiss, they are just pathethic clowns now. Long life Ace, Peter, Eric and Vinnie.

  • @attila6661 Vinnie Vincent doesn't even deservre a mention. Most useless member of Kiss' lineups. If Gene and Paul suck why even listen to Kiss? Forget critizing anything after Revenge, I think we can all agree that it's a pretty poor effort since ...

  • @shovelthumbs78

In the last 30 years there were only 3 good Kiss albums, Creatures of the night, Lick it Up and some moments of Revenge. That was because Vinnie Vincent composition level was incredible. u can argue this. Sorry

  • @attila6661 Ace and Peter turned into worthless drunks and drug addicts. Peter couldn't even keep time. Gene Simmons is the reason Kiss is still around. Dumbass.

  • @Davux1995 sadly isn't that way, put on google "gene simmons eric carr blabbermouth" and look the first link and watch it yourself

  • @matias87ar ....I read the story you are referring to. Everything comes done to the mighty dollar. "It's nothing personal. It's just business" comes to mind. It was cool that even though Eric was sick, they still had him make the GGRRTYT Video. Gene and Paul I am sure were hurting to have lost their friend in such a way.

  • ERIC CARR

    RIP

    Rock In Peace

  • Thank you Eric Carr, I saw you drummin' in Helsinki 1983. I will never forget the fiiling! Your drumsolo was amazing! Angel's for you!

  • wat ever happend to bruce

  • @poison101ful He plays guitar for Grand Funk Railroad now. I saw them last year in Oklahoma City.

  • @rodwilliams68 oh kool

  • None of us know these guys personally......stop acting like you're a part of it......just remember the good music & good times, past, present , future.

  • RIP

  • I'm sorry, but I can't stand listening to Gene or Paul. I don't care how "sad" they seem in this video - they're full of shit. They blatantly fired Eric Carr on his deathbed, period. Eric was the reason that the band got back on track after "The Elder." Eric deserved better than that - he was well-known to have been an extremely nice guy to everyone he knew. R.I.P. The Fox.

  • @rch9000, my source is Gene and Paul themselves. They have admitted on many occasions that they fired Eric BEFORE his passing. When Eric's diagnosis became apparent, they both sat down with Eric and explained that the band needed to continue w/o him. Eric was understanding, but friends and family have recounted how sad it made him. You'll stumble upon this information pretty quickly with a little research - happy hunting! Peace.

  • actually they FIRED ERIC IN HIS DEATHBED, said by gene simmons himself, search the interview on blabbermouth and you will see

  • @matias87ar Your right, they did fire him when he was in the hospital, i just

looked it up. Wow......... i have no respect for those guys, they are cold blooded

a..holes!!!! Im still a big fan of the music, but as people, i think they are losers.

They dident have to do that! They could have just told him, that they were gonna use another drummer till he got better or something. Dont kick the man when hes down!!!

  • @moderndaydelilah93 yeah wtf, how could you not like this ?

  • :'( RIP

  • November 24, 1991 mere hours after Eric Carr's death announcement we learn Freddie Mercury announced his battle with aids to the public. He died overnight. Two rock legends gone the same day.

  • R.I.P Eric Carr <3<3<3<3<3<3<3333

  • What, no peter kriss interview?

  • @Razersun

No, because it is a report about the Kiss-Drummer Eric Carr that time.

Peter Criss was fired 1979 because of drug and psychologic problems.

  • i miss him so much

    rest in peace eric...

  • YOU say Peter Criss... I say Eric Carr

  • @GM0530 u have a prob with peter?

  • @Atreyufolife I grew up in the Eric Carr era and i liked that Kiss much better.

  • @GM0530 Same here.

  • @DefLeppardVanHalen then you sir have good taste lol

  • I watched Eric cut sick on the drums way back in 1980 at the Perth Entertainment Centre along with my best friend and wife...the three of them are all gone now and taken so young...and here I sit listning to Kiss...

  • @shelkamark

damn man, lot's of respect for you, it must be hard.. :(

  • @larsnoorman Thanks for the comment. It goes a long way.

  • Stanley & Simmons are charlatans only in it for the money. Especially Gene. Sick fuckers.

  • I cried so much when I saw this.

  • I had the privelege to see Eric solo live for the Creatures of the night tour sitting on his tank turret:) I was pissed cause KISS didn't announce that Ace had left the band and that was one of the biggest reasons I went, But Eric truly saved the day! That was 83 Richfield coloseum in Ohio.It to is gone just like Eric.I will never forget that night.

  • @TheZepmeister -I got to see Eric back in 80or 81 didn't know Vinny Vincent was with KISS either and remember Erics tank turret :-) ,,when he sang Beth as in traditon of Peter he came and sat @end of the stage tried to throw me a drumstick but being short as i am and I was a/b 15@ the time some tall Mf'er got it and he just kinda shrugged like "i tried" awww so sweet , I miss him......horrible Gene freak of nature firing him in the hospital money hungry i'm sure that hastened his death.

  • Eric was incredible. RIP.

  • bruce looks like joe perry

  • Eric Carr was an awesome drummer. Fantastic. The best KISS drummer (but both Criss and Singer are/were great too). But Carr will always be something speciel to me, because he was the drummer when I started listening to them. But he was really great and he seemed like a nice person too. But I think Singer is a worthy replacement for him.

  • well said bruce

  • one thing i think of when i watch this is that usually you see Bruce talk about Eric and keep his memory alive (i'm thinking about Eric rockology album and Tale of the fox etc) and he always seems to have been Eric best friend in the group, and you don't hear Paul or Gene talk about him so much.

But in this video it's Gene and Paul who seems to be the most sad about Erics death and Bruce just talks about work

  • wath doc is this from??

  • I miss you Eric!

  • It really hurt these guys for the loss of someone htta was with them for 12 years. KIS will carry this with them forever to have known Eric Carr. RIP...KISS rock on.

  • Is this from a KISS documentary? Where can I watch the whole thing?

  • They fired Carr on his death bed....... Fuck Kiss.

  • When Eric joined the band, he was apologizing to Peter nonstop for his role in joining KISS. Eric was all class.

  • Eric was the drummer when I saw KISS. Only seen them twice but he was awesome both times. A REAL drummer, musician. Missed so much by so many people.

  • KISS forever

Eric was the best ever R.I.P

Paul and Gene, rock on <3

  • Why didn't they ask Bruce to come back after the reunion? I don't like him at all...

  • RIP FOX.....you wll always be apart of Kiss. Always.

  • Bruce is a dick here. Simmons and Stanley miss Carr.

  • @SargeBullRandleman yea im glad hes gone

  • we will miss you Eric Carr R.I.P.

  • goodbye eric :(

  • Eric is the best Kiss drummer PERIOD!

  • terrible that Eric is dead.

If he was alive now meaby he was still in the band.

  • I watch this over and over. So sad. I agree with WouterJ, you can see Gene was grieving! Bruce was more "cheerful", but he honestly thought Eric wouldn't want them to be sitting around crying...

  • RIP Eric Carr.

  • Gene looked like he was about to break down

  • Miss ya bro........you were awesome

  • heavy

  • The best KISS interview ever....

  • Okay could u tell me who bruce is.

  • R.I.P. Fox

  • goodbye eric

  • Eric Carr upgraded the KISS sound tremendously. Not only the best drummer KISS had, but probably the best musician.

  • @ESW367 heck yeah u are sure dead on! he was as monster as gene & paul both said but it doesnt diminish what singer or criss brought to the band w their drum playing as well god bless peter i had no idea he had breast cancer....it must be difficult to cope

  • @ESW367 i think eric and ace where a good combo

  • @ESW367 Agree that he impacted their sound ...in the right direction. I hated him at 1st, just cuz I wanted the original band, but after hearing Creatures it is hard not to love the guy. I also thin Eric Singer was put in an awkward situation & has earned the respect of KISS fans. I love them both & still miss Eric Carr. RIP.

  • @ESW367 no hte best for kiss was the originals

  • i kind i feel what paul stanley is saying because recently just a couple weeks age my dog died of cancer now I know that it seems that a dog's death is not as important as a human's death but a feel it's just the love that counts and i really know how it feels to know that someone you love is going to die in short time it's sad feeling and there is selfishness in some what for wanting people to stay alive because sometimes you just have to let them go it's hard thing to do but its for the best

  • yeah, i know how you feel. i lost my dog a few years ago. people who dont have pets dont understand that you really do love them like a family member.

rip eric carr. great musician, great guy.

  • I get it. Just lost a cat last week. Don't let others tell you how to mourn a pet.

  • @stevedrums right, because eric carr and a cat are the same thing

  • Eric Carr was the best drummer that kiss ever had he played some the biggest drum kits ever u would see he played 2 bass drum 3 bass drums you dont see drumers today playing kits that big Eric Carr will never be forgotten R.I.P Eric

  • R.I.P ERIC CARR!!!!! WE MISS YOU!!!

  • R.I.P Eric Carr

  • no take that back, they kicked him out so he could feel like he could get his surgery

  • There would be no Kiss to replace people with to emulate guitar, or rewear make-up or better the best, for the Best of the Rest was and will always be Ace and Peter. They are the soil the seed took root in, and Paul and Gene the money Machine are the cloud that let it die. Clone Clone away, one day too, you will have NO one knocking on your door for a Retour with Tribute band HACKs, and I my friend a 30 yr friend will watch ACe shred it up in a Pub.

    RIP Kiss,

  • Poor Eric, a young great looking, talented guy had to die such a terrible death , and he was in good spirits to the day he died, he probably could care less how much money he made because he was just doing something that he enjoyed, playing drums and having a good time.

  • Bruce I don't know if you are "lying" in the end. Eric did cut off the contact with Kiss when they said to him that Eric Singer were replacing Carr. Eric Carr were totally destroyed for that. And Eric were starting to lost contact with Paul during the Hot in the shade tour. R.I.P Eric Carr <3

  • I've seen Criss (Dynasty tour) and Carr (Creatures of the Night tour). If it wasn't for Eric, KISS would've ended years ago. Carr was MUCH better than Criss.

RIP Eric, you were the best bro' !

  • Gene and Paul are pieces of shit.

  • because they didnt actually want to see him die on stage.but they also didnt want to have an ill drummer eric carr was o 1 of kind drummer.RIP ERIC carr

  • You said it. Gene and Paul are two of the most ego-centric personalities in the history of music. I found it interesting how in Eric's bio Return of the Fox, Gene and Paul didn't even make an appearance. Ace was there, Bruce Kulick was there, but Gene and Paul were one the sidelines. The one thing that they love more than sex and themselves is money. He was the most complete musician that Kiss ever had. Too bad they didn't appreciate him

  • eric singer does a great job, peter criss was ok,

but ERIC CARR was the best Kiss drummer.

    Miss u mate !

    RIP

  • Rest In Peace Eric Carr

  • Erics drums solos were wonderful.

    R.I.P. Eric Carr

  • eric carr, the fox, my biggest influence with drumming...you are missed by many...R.I.P. Eric Carr

  • Eric you are missed :( RIP Foxman

  • R.I.P Eric Carr legends

  • R.I.P. Eric Carr :(

  • Paul Stanley sounded as if he was gonna cry. RIP Eric Carr :(

  • RIP Eric!! You're the best!!

  • i think he was also engaged/in a serious relationship w/ carrie stevens b4 he died...who wopuld later (i think) name 1 of her kids after him (either the 1st &/or middle name of the boy)

  • eric carr was a great drummer for kiss in that period of time but it's sad to see someone like paul stanley said close to you who just suddenly dies before your eyes but kiss lives on they hade made a song carr jam 1981 a drum track solo dedicated to eric carr R.I.P.

  • WOW!! Those who were there for the whole period of time and know exactly what happened have the guts to speak up! Yeah!! Bravo, dipshits. Before you spew any more venom try doing a little research. The fact is, KISS advanced royalties to Eric Carr during that time, and far from canceling his insurance, kept him on their group plan. And Eric Carr was never fired. He passed away well before he was actually replaced. He had an open door to return when he recouperated, but that never happened.

  • Well said, Eric Carr did come back to play before his passing but the band said that they wanted him to get a complete bill of health, they genuinely cared for Eric.

Now, while I don't agree with a lot of decisions made with the band, no sad story can be told about them screwing Eric Carr...

  • Eric came back for the God Gave Rock N Roll to You II music video before he passed

  • Eric appeared in the videobut he was never able to return full time to the band, unfortunately. Eric Singer actually played the drums on that track. Eric Carr sang harmonies with Paul in the breakdown section in the song.

  • yes, he did come back for the video for god gave rock and roll to you II, and (not sure if this is true) he was wearing a wig because of the cancer.

i forget where i heard that.
