At least the kidnappers did not kill the kid, unlike the American troops who gang raped and killed a 12 year old girl and burnt her whole family dead in Ahmadiya, Iraqa.

ihatesistany, Sistany played a major role in keeping Iraq together and prevented a prominent civil war. Shiites and after all the repression they went through for decades decided to repel but it's Sistany who said no revenge even if half of the Shiites get killed. I sometimes think what if Sistany was not in the picture. You can imagine the amount of destruction. Remember Shiites have weapons, know how to use it professionally and have all the reasons in the world to use it.

The hell are you talking about, it has nothing to do with Saddam other than he was not clever enough to avoid direct confrontation with US/UK. Iraq was the leading arab country in the 80's and therefore found its way unto the radar screen of these anxlo-saxon characters. Whenever arabs modernize you have to put them in their place, thats the whole point of this Iraq war stuff since '91.

You are correct in that Saddam didn't (directly) cause this. Bush didn't directly cause this either. You could say that the Americans brought this over in some sense. But in a more direct sense this was caused by the insurgency powered by many Iraqi and non-Iraqi fighters. So, I'm not sure why you've borught up this tenuous conection to either Saddam or Bush.
