  • Weiner says "health care is not a commodity".

Huh? How is health care NOT a commodity? That makes no sense whatsoever! The word "commodity" is defined as "a good for which there is a demand."

OF COURSE health care is a commodity! Weiner is completely 100% wrong!

  • HAHAHAHA he won't answer!!!!

  • i don't watch this show at all, but joe strikes me as a guy doing his best to make it seem like he ha s a valid point

  • What irritates the Right wing the most is that the left represents the snowball effect in whatever project it undertakes. The right wing conversely represents the unrolling carpet effect in whatever project it undertakes. When a left wing project has finished, there's this huge structure (yet capable of enlarging if needed). When the right wing has finished, it's been completely rolled out, flat, with a beginning and end (and no possibility of becoming larger if needed). It's 3-D vs. 2-D.

  • lol he can't answer the question. Idiot.

  • I guess scarborough is in the pocket of the insurance companies....not surprising

  • even though Weiner's opponent drags him around and refuses to get at the heart of the matter I have to be in awe of the pretty reasonable, patient debate going on here. maybe because its not Fox News no one got cut off or resorted to shouting.

  • @dadadevo haa yes. Those stupid blind fools. They're destroying their country but they're talking some terrorist out there. They are it. But what effect will that have. A nation of ignorants listening to the blind telling them how it is done. And since they have weapons a danger to the world. None of these are psychologically sound. They spew the trash, darkness that is in their mind and force it upon us they believe it. But some might do it for profit.

  • "Barack Obama doesn't wanna do the Weiner plan" quote of the decade. 6:26

  • I am a firm believer that the free market is the most efficient way of delivering goods and services to the mass majority of people. If one wants to sacrifice efficiency for the sake of delivering mass free care for all then that is his choice, but expect waste in one form or another. There is a reason why doctors move to America to get money. There is also a reason why patients from other countries go to America to get surgeries. Inefficiency.

  • @redarrowhead2 Yeah yeah, typical american twisted view of the rest of the world, and of the state of his own country.

  • penis.

  • Why do Republicans 'HATE ' European health plans like that of France? Simply because the French have THE PUBLIC OPTION, which doesn't stop anyone from purchasing and/or using private health plans. The problem "the for profit" insurance companies have, is that people who pay for their health plan privately, quickly discover that they get no better medical, hospital or pharmaceutical treatment. When the French president " a Republican" tired to dismantle it, he was nearly "lynched" & backed off.

  • @briquetaverne That's right! Any American who has been brainwashed into hating France has been brainwashed into hating freedom itself. Who advocates hating France? Most likely the same people who have an interest in people shooting themselves in the foot so that they can make a profit. American for Prosperity is headed by oil tycoon that was no town hall situation. LOL when the French gov't tried to dismantle it I heard the French were rioting. Maybe that's what needs to happen here.

  • Don't fucking call him "Anthony" you piece of shit talk show host. You refer to him as Congressman Weiner you piece of shit lowly motherfucker.

  • It's hilarious seeing Scarborough have a stroke over the idea that all Americans should have healthcare.

  • Does Weiner REALLY believe the tripe he says? He's either a shameless liar or unbelievably deluded. Or both?

  • @Anschutzhammerlitoz shhh, go now, herdmaster Glen is calling you sheep, baaaaaa

  • I want a presidential Weiner!

And by that I mean Anthony Weiner for president.

  • 3:00..."wow another puppet"

  • You truly understand and care for your fellow Americans. Healthcare should not be a privilege, its a right. You are exactly what I like to see in a congressman.

  • Even better: government run democratic hospitals, where the doctors and nurses decide - that'd be even more cost efficient, it would do away with profits and voila.

  • every single american should have health care.

  • the weiner plan sounds like quite the porno.

i really like this guy, but he needs to change his name, I'd never vote for someone named Weiner to be president, that's embarrassing.

  • @resincoatedlungs people said the same thing about the name Obama.

  • @resincoatedlungs After Bush how can someone's name be embarrassing? Seriously what a fucking joke...

  • @resincoatedlungs It wouldn't be the first genital-based president. The States have already had two presidents named "bush".

  • I wish I lived in New York so I can vote for this man.

  • Bravo Anthony!!!!

  • My wife needs Alboteral for asthma. this drug has been around forever yet it still costs us 100.00 a month. We have ins. from the small business she works for. the plan gets shittier every year due to escalating premiums. If you support the status quo you are a selfish asshole.

  • Shorter Joe:

"I have a point. I just don't know how to defend it or why. Please respect that."

  • @fuzzyone99 or i dont know what my point is, but i have one

  • He is astounded at the question because he can't answer it.

  • Joe is speechless......cause he dont know nothing .. only to read the teleprompter.

  • OBAMA

    WEINER

    2012

    YES WE CAN

  • Does borack obama know about this guy? He would be wise to listen to him!

  • Yeah this Scarborogh guy is a bone-headed weakling. He's partially right when he says he's "dumb-founded", right about the dumb part anyway.

  • hahaha....this scarborough chap is such an idiot. can't understand a simple question. no wonder msnbc's rating are crap!

  • @focus6974 Well when you have Ed, Keith, and Rachel "the man" Maddow, it is pretty obvious........

  • if everyone got medicare then why do we need health insurance? Medicare doesn't have the benefits as insurances do..

  • What are we getting for the 30% Overhead?answer the Question! Retard!oh The Ceo's Making 25 Million a year!< i hope there's Brain implants for these Retard's, in the healthcare Bill, even a cat's Brain would quadruple their intelligence

  • The blank look on Joe's face after Weiner asked that question was absolutely priceless. HIs only response was some bullshit about "believing in free enterprise."

I've been watching a lot of this Weiner guy's clips and he pretty much completely destroys everyone he debates, albeit in a classy kind of way.

  • lol at Joe.

    "takeover takeover takeover takeover!"

I wonder what it's like in his world. "What's going on here? How can people not care about these insurance companies? What's wrong with these people?"

    Amazing.

  • "Speechless" and "Dumbfounded"? That usually happens when you don't have an answer, not because you don't "believe" or "understand" the question. Weiner is right, and Scarborogh simply did not want to concede that he's wrong. So in typical fashion he tries laying down a smoke screen of capitalistic, free market rhetoric. Why is this so-called journalist pathetically defending a failed ideology, instead of simply reporting the news?

  • @iMisanthrope

What would you expect from a love affair reject Republican like Scarborough? How soon we forget! So what is the value of the health insurance companies, Joe. Bonus points for Blondie for bobbing her head for ole' Joe and adding the giggle sound track!

  • Hahaha god i love this guy

    Scarborogh:

"Im not gonna make it to 65, the way I eat"

    Weiner:

"Also when you take elbows in your ribs every morning so hard Im not sure youre gonna make it either"

  • Scarburrow is a weak amareikan.

    "Goverment take over" oh my!!

We just let our Goverment take over Iraq and Afganistan. No worries there.

The goverment runs every aspect of our lives. How can people be scared of healthcare for all??? But support death to countries.

  • Easy answer: Americans lack critical thinking skills in general.

  • @jimbobanalbeats True, and its the media making that happen. The media is betraying us not the politicians.

  • Americans, for the most part have all the information in the world available to them. If they choose to let a television screen dish out their information for them, that is their own fault. The internet is way cheaper then cable TV and offers far more.

  • I fucking hate Scarborogh. Such an asshole.

  • Look I don't know who's side I would be on but I think every single American should have medicare

  • That's a liberal democrat view. It's so liberal that it basically was never even on the table because it wouldn't get enough votes in The Senate. And I agree with it 100%.

  • @edwin768 Then you're with the Dems. At least if we go by voting records.

  • @edwin768 yeah lets make you pay for all of them and not take it from my healthy self

  • @edwin768 That's the point Weiner is making. He would LIKE to have everyone receive medicare, i.e. GOVERNMENT organised healthcare, but the Republicans would never have it, and because of that, moderate Democrats like Obama can't have it either.

It's a sad thing really, I don't think this is what your so-called founding fathers meant when they thought about free market.

  • @edwin768 That makes you on the side of the mass majority of Americans that want free shit but don't know how to pay for it. Free healthcare is nice, but it's not free. Expect higher taxes, the systematic elimination of all private care, the rise of bureaucracies in the healthcare industry (more input than output), and waste, tons of waste. Most importantly, America will have to meet even more financial obligations. Nations in Europe recently found that they can't meet their own obligations.

  • @edwin768 according to the right, you'd be a socialist nazi

  • @edwin768 Then you're basically with us socialist types, but don't worry, it's not a bad thing.

  • @bigtimepeace Yes it is.

  • @utube9000 You're certainly entitled to that opinion. I think you're wrong, you think I'm wrong. Now we know.

  • @bigtimepeace Well, I wish it were that simple. If you leftists want socialized medicine, that's fine. But do it AMONGST YOURSELVES and leave the rest of us out of it. Then we're cool.

You call yourself "bigtimepeace" but there is nothing "peaceful" about using the power of government to force people into doing something they don't want to do. For the first time in US history, the government is forcing people to PURCHASE A PRODUCT WHETHER THEY WANT IT OR NOT. That is simply not American.

  • @utube9000 Don't deign to lecture me about what is or is not American--there is no essential "Americanness," and indeed diversity of thought and belief is one of the things that has characterized this country. The Supreme Court will ultimately decide whether the mandate is constitutional or not--if they agree it is then you'll have to deal with it. Incidentally, don't you think not buying insurance just cause you don't want to is irresponsible? If you get hurt or sick the rest of us have to pay.

  • @bigtimepeace Central to America is the Constitution that the nation was founded upon. No Constitution, no America in my opinion. The Supreme Court should NEVER determine the law of the land, only the law of the case. The states should be able to block Obamacare and I hope they do.

To answer your question: No, you should not have to pay my medical bills if I don't have insurance, I agree with you there.

  • @utube9000 One of the foundational legal cases in American history is Marbury v. Madison, the decision in which famously states that "It is emphatically the province and duty of the judicial department to say what the law is." Everyone still agrees with that. The constitutionality of the reform law has been challenged--the court will decide whether the law is constitutional or not. It's standard stuff. If states could block Obamacare they could block any law, and the union would dissolve.

  • @utube9000 As to the medical bills issue, if you don't have insurance and you get very sick or are seriously injured, you will obviously go the emergency room. If you cannot pay the bills because they are too high--which is extremely common--then the rest of us basically pay for it in the form of increased premiums and fees. Why should I have to pay for your refusal to insure yourself? Even if you are healthy you could be in an accident, and you would probably leave others footing the bill.

  • He's my favorite weiner, Joe dont want you to know that part of his profit depends on insurance cos. profit. thats the rub.

  • LMAO joe's "under pressure" LMAO

  • im just glad they havnt changed the healthcare system the other day a peasant touched my arm on the street and i was like thank god for health insurance i mean how do you expct health insurance ceos and execs to live off and support thier families on only a a few million a year you selfish liberals think about other ppl somtimes geez

  • Socialist twat.

  • idiot do you even know what socialism is dumb ass

  • Socialism is a system that produced a little shit like you. Now why don't you tell us all what socialism REALLy is, and why it is oh so magnificent.

  • im sorry I dont argue with people who's IQ is less than 10

  • Comment removed

  • hurrr durrr european countries run social-democrat goverments and they work just fine, even better than my retarded fast food based Americunt system

  • @mrperson2012

They most certainly do not. If you call lower standards of living, less material wealth, less innovation, less freedom, 50% tax rates, bankrupt government entitlement programs "just fine" you're insane.

  • the world sucks and we know it

  • We're well on our way to lower standards of living, and we didn't even have to provide health care for everyone like decent people. Amazing! Get off your high horse.

  • Joe is one squirmy slippery bastard. Wiener couldn't get an answer out of him despite 6 direct questions asking what do insurance companies provide.

  • @needparalegal that's his talent

  • @needparalegal Exactly! Joe is a little rat. Just like insurance companies, what positive contribution does he have to make?

  • 5:13 - What are insurance companies bringing to health care?

    Dead Silence.

    CLASSIC!!! LMAO!

  • What right does any corportation have to stand between doctors and patients and demand a cut before they can provide medical treatment? None! Fuck em all, and fuck Joe Scarborough.

  • p.s what a little bitch scarborough is, unable to answer the question, unwilling to concede even the slighest point, because he knows he has no answer. and then he has the nerve to accuse weiner of not letting him get a word in, fucking hypocrite pussy.

so scarborough, do you really think medicare represents a government takeover of healthcare?

  • MEDICARE FOR ALL!

that should have been the slogan, and you americans better wake the hell up and get a decent healthcare system now rather than never.

  • Morning Joe is a stupid moron. He never answered the question. What an idiot.

  • That is BS. I don't know any 65+ person on medicare who likes it. This is why medicare supplements are such big business. Try paying 1065 copay per hospital visit. this is how medicare works. The problem for medicare is not overhead, but that the government can dip into the pool of funds for other projects nothing to do with health care. An insurance company would be fined heavily if it sent its money pool in this way.

  • Dude, wtf are you talking about? This has nothing to do with how Medicare works. Go do some research.

  • You should do some research before you make an ass of yourself. Ask my parents how great government run health care is. They pay 2304 a year for part B, plus the tens of thousands they paid into while working, yet that can not get a physical, mammogram, or other preventative care. And my dad was stung by a bee (he is allergic) and spent a week in the hospital, and is still paying off the 1,000 bill. And he has no choice but to take medicare, no other insurance will take you if you are. (Cont)

  • This has everything to do with medicare. It is a single payer system that is decreasing what it pays every year, and increasing the premiums every year. I work part time in Dunkin Donuts in Mass where it is mandatory to get private insurance, and for $14 a week, I have a far superior health plan than medicare.

  • Then you truly are stupid if you believe a $14/week plan is better than medicare. I got a banana boat to see you. I just hope you don't get sick and actually have to use your insurance.

  • Part B is less than a 100/month. Both my parents have it. And (btw) it is optional. $1k for being in the hospital for a week? My wife and I both had insurance with her on my plan and I on hers. We had a $5K bill for 3 days of her being in the hospital for complications with her last pregancy. Now that is with double coverage. WTF, dude. Maybe if you didn't work at Dunkin Donuts you would have a clue. You are the one that needs to do research.

  • $100 a month? I want that medicare. It is 94.40 per person. And 5,000 for a pregnancy? My father had a bee sting, for one night, not even over night, and got an epinephrine given to him. I spent a night with staff infection, with a local surgery, And it cost me $250. In Mass, it is great now that private insurance is mandated. With insurance pools increasing, premiums decrease. My sister who lives in NY has horrible coverage for $600 a mo, and guess what, she works in a hospital.

  • By the way, by optional for part be, that means that it is either part b or nothing. If you get private insurance, you are forced to be penalized for not taking it. Essentially, the insurance is only allowed to pay what medicare would not have paid. Look it up. The only way, is if you do not qualify for medicare. (did not work more than the quarters needed to qualify)

  • Dude, you just said your father had to spent a week in the hospital and now you are saying it was one night. Can you get your own lies straight? BTW, Medicare part B pays for mammograms (free of charge) you dope.

  • Dumb ass. the medicare did not pay for the night. After the deductible was met, then it paid for the rest of the week. You obviously have no understanding of medicare.

  • You are probably confused by medicare advantage plans. Yup, they are private health care. It is cheaper for the government to pay a private insurer to provide health coverage.

  • You are in serious need of mental health coverage. All of that Dunkin Donut sugar has started to melt your brain.

  • I can not believe anyone is actually defending medicare. It is great coverage on paper, however medicare will only pay a certain price for things.

  • I don't even know why I argue. It is not some big secrete. Get a medicare and you book, and you see how horrible medicare really is. If you want to ignore it and pretend it is the best thing ever, have fun. If it was a private insurer, they would have been jailed already for fraud.

  • joe is TOOL!

  • Weiner rocks! It is very rare that I admire a politician...and I admire this guy geatly.

  • What I don't understand is why Joe is so amazed at Weiner's position - people have been calling for single payer/Medicare for All for years. This couldn't have been the first time he'd heard of it.

  • Weiner is great. In all fairness, though, Scarborough is much better than O'Reilly. He is able in this format at least, to let Weiner explain and argue whereas O'Relilly often talks over his guests, cuts them off, etc.

  • Scarborogh= Bill O'Riley.

  • Weiner for President !!! This Guy has the BALLS and direct confrontational skills that we need !

Joe Scarrybourough is just plain stupid .

  • motherfucking weiner is awesome ! why isn't he in the cabinet !!!?

  • Joe just can't wrap his head around the idea of health care as an essential service; and that the health of Americans should have priority over the profits of insurance companies.

  • I like how MIka gets out of the way/

  • Notice how he keeps saying "government take over"to scare people.

  • before you know it, we'll have public parks, a united states postal service, public schools, clean air and water!!! NOOO!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • "uh...uh...again i'm astounded by your question"Lol what a douchbag.

  • OH YES. The magical moment happens at 5:15.

Shut him up real quick because he know's Anthony's right.

  • Ugh. Explaining Calculus to Chimpanzee..

  • The lights are pretty dim in Scarborough Country...what a tool

  • My next question for people here is what else do you think you can't do for yourselves and need the government to run for you? I doubt anyone will touch this but Congres passed Medicare part D a few years ago, is the cost of Part D what the American public was told it would be today or is it 300%+ what we were told it would cost? Keep thinking your government is going to be the answer. I already pay about40-50% of my check in taxes....how much more does it need to be?

  • "My next question for people here is what else do you think you can't do for yourselves and need the government to run for you?"

Well, I can't fight a war alone, I can't afford to build an interstate, I can't deliver my own mail (day job and all), I can't arrest criminals, I can't watch NOAA's weather satellites (which would be handy as I live in Louisiana), I don't know enough chemistry and biology to make sure the food I'm eating is safe, nor can I stop people from using lead paint. Need more?

  • lol..omg joe got owned!!

  • I love how Joe tries to put words into Weiner's mouth, and Weiner don't take that kinda bullshit.

  • max baccus is bought and paid for by the big insurance companies. the reason he said they don't have the votes is because no one wants to support his watered down, doomed-to-fail, version of a bill that started with it's legs cut off in the first place. without a public option that costs medicaid +5%, its the same cost as the private insurance and then we have a gov mandate that forces us to pay high prices. every version of this bill is shit right now, hopefully we can fix this thing.

  • Oh man you can positively feel that pause there.

'what do the insurance companies bring to the table? what do they contribute?'

    ...

    ...

    *crickets*

Then Joe has the nerve to claim he wasn't silent because he simply didn't have an answer. That was amazing. A simple, simple question...absolutely smacked the crap out of Joe Scarborough. Just couldn't think of an answer.

    So so awesome.

  • As a faithful son of the South, Joe has probably heard this description of the utterly clueless:

    He's like a hog looking a wristwatch.

  • As another southern boy, I'll contribute one as well:

Getting Joe to address Mr. Weiner's point would be about as easy as putting socks on a rooster. Cheers.

  • Weiner appears to absolutely own the crap out of everybody he debates with.

  • Why do Republicans still think they are relevant?

  • ...the same reason they thought Palin was qualified to run as VP.

  • You are not ASTOUNDED JOE! I repeat, You are not ASTOUNDED! You have NO ANSWER because health insurance companies have no value in this country. They are here to reap PROFIT!!! NOTHING ELSE! JUST PROFIT! THIS is why health insurance companies need to be HISTORY in this country!

  • Comment removed

  • He is the only man who has my respect in that congress!

  • Weiner and Barney Frank seem to be the only ones with common sense up there.

  • my question is how does he sit down

balls that big you need a high chair

  • ha ha ha! hilarious!

  • bahahaahahaha

    I love it

  • Joe Scarborough is a sore fucking loser.

He's not "making it seem like" private health care needs to be done away with. He's proving a point as to WHY it needs to be done away with. Don't act so fucking flabbergasted Scarborough. It's like like he said a dirty word and that you have to go tattle on him.

"HE SAID TAKEOVER! HE SAID TAKEOVER! MOMMMMMMYYYYYY!"

Joe Scarborough is a buzzword whore. Let the congressman ANSWER THE FUCKING QUESTION.

  • Republicans love getting raped by their overseers.

Sometimes I think my country is too stupid to be saved.

  • ahh... the long, deafening silence of Scarborogh and Republicans to solve the health care crisis.

Republicans are fighting a losing battle to maintain status quo.

Republican health care plan = No Value, No Problem, Maintain the status quo!

  • Senator Weiner is a tough bastard. This guy is no joke.

  • Anthony Weiner is my hero...

  • Private health insurance has no business in a free society... period.

  • Why are Americans defending a system that is proving to be destructive to our civilization?! UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE NOW, AMERICAN FRATERNITY FOREVER!!!

  • Anthony D Weiner, Democrat with a spine. Finely!!! Thank you God!!!

Republicans, Get out of the way!!!

For the rest of you Democrats, Lead, Follow, Or Get Out Of The Way

Anthony D Weiner, Continue Leading Our Country In A New Direction.

"Leaving private insurance companies the job of controlling the costs of healthcare is like making a pyromaniac the fire chief."

  • WestTexasBliss Weiner's spine- heh, heh, I love it!

  • I've just added Rep. Weiner to my Hall of Heroes. He's an excellent communicator for Universal Health Care.

  • Well Joe? What benefits do the insurance companies bring the American people?? Just because they provide jobs and engage in capitalism is not enough. They are responsible for making health care too expensive for the average American and they deny health care to those who pay for it. It is a moral issue and Weiner has it right. I'm so glad he is out there fighting for us, even those of us in another state!

  • scrubjay93 The Mafia employed people too, so did Madoff. Al Capone was the ultimate "free marketer" , he didn't pay his taxes, which is the only thing they nailed him with. I hope to God that these insurance CEOs have cheated on their taxes.

  • Hey you pay into the insurance plan with the expectation that they will be there when you need it. But they deny your claims? What is the fucking value? That guy Scarborogh is sooooo stupid! Pay attention! It's highway robbery!

  • Great job Weiner... He HAS backbone! Proud of him. He should coach the other rep. so they can stand up to people who are just ignorant about the healthcare.

  • joe is kinda slow there isnt he

  • thanks for kicking ass!! :)

  • Great interview!

  • Brilliant!

  • I always thought it was ironic and indicative of the average American's stupidity that many people are protesting in favor of health insurance companies which do the very things they accuse/fear from the public option or single payer. Americans are defending their rapist when defending the status quo

  • That image has been painted before in many other situations sadly...

  • Wish this guy was my Rep. He makes me want to move back to NY.

  • Rep. Weiner, you make me proud to be an American.

You are actually standing up to the corporate interests!

  • wiener is the shit!!

  • Fucking....... OWNED

    WEINNER = PURE WIN

  • Bravo, Weiner. This is such a battle of semantics and you have the right approach.

    -DJ Octoon

    UCLA Radio

  • I am so proud of Rep Weiner the way stands up for all Americans. I'm 50 and would love to get into Medicare, if only I could.
