Hey I just got a copy of this game from a guy in Japan, but when I go to play the game, my PS2 says "Please load a Playatation or Playstation 2 format disk" or some shit...

I take it there's some sort of communication error between the two or some sort of language barrier..? It should work... I mean... all Playstations are made in japan are they not?

Any help or directions would be GREATLY appreciated as this game blows Battlecry out of the water.

This game is GREAT. The graphics are awesome for PS2 and the game play cannot be matched by any other mech game.

Robotech Battlecry sure could have learned a lesson or two from this. This is SO worth importing. I love it so much that I even have a spare copy.

I think a lot of people forget that the Macross saga of Robotech was *very* faithful to the original Macross serise. The only cuts were made for cencoring reasons for US tv. The only bad thing that Harmony Gold really did was splice in other compleatly unrelated anime's into the Macross storyline. Was it bad? In my opinion, i loved the cartoon as a kid. Besides the voice acting in Robotech is far superior to the Macross english dub. Have you heard how annoying the voice actors are??

I only battlecry looked like this. I wish that Robotech would have just been Macross in english. Then it wouldn't have turned into what crud it is. I wish both series would have been the same. I love both and wish that Harmony Gold would let Robotech go and let someone else take it up.

harmony gold staff has no creative skills at all. That's why robotech is a dying franchise. Look at Studio Nue now. The guys working there have skills. That's Macross is still doing well today (watch Macross Frontier).

Originally Harmony Gold was only going to dub Macross in uncensored English. But for some reason they decided to put it on TV. They found that it was too short so they added Southern Cross and Mospeada to make it long enough for TV. But hey, we can always hope that Harmony Gold goes out of business and someone else will pick it up.

swap magic is a disc and setup that makes your ps2 region free thus allowing you to play a game from any country. basically its a bootup disc BUT to use it after you load the disc you have to take it out and put in the game you want to play without your ps2 resetting. you have two methods of doing it one being to replace the disc drive cover or the other being a swap card which pops the tray open, look it up and you'll see how its done, not too hard once you understand

Because they used macross in robotech, and wouldn't get any money from macross products. This is Macross: Super Dimensional Fortress. A game from the original anime. Robotech Battlecry and Macross are two different game. Anyways Battlecry is garbage and is a copy of Macross. By the way, this game is Japan region, and is only released/available in Japan.

I wouldn't say Battlecry is -Garbage- per say. Fatally flawed, yes. Garbage no. Its a shame that for every awesome thing like the VF-1R, Skarde or Kiyoria we got shitty things like escort a cats eye, going on random fetch quests for random things or fight off more and more waves of Regaults

IMO the graphical style really suited it. Cel-Shading is awesome.

But if your looking for the best game to feature Macross in an action sort of sequences I recomend Another Century's Episode 2
