How to Paint a Blood Angels Tank part One of Three

Thinking about investing in Army Painter (I know I'm late, I know!). Just a little question for anyone with a wandering eye. Do you NEED an undercoat before spraying or can you just go to the color primer? Meaning no chaos black undercoat, just straight to dragon red.

@xtechmarine I am not so experienced in painting Warhammer my self, have only been at it for about a month. But undercoating is a must to get the paint to really stick to your model. Resin in it self is to smooth but a coat of chaos black and u will have a better layer to start painting on.

I was just wondering whats the cheapest but good quality stuff to start with? im guessing im going to need primer (black or white?), paint brushes, and paints. What brands should i use? Also, how much money do you think it would take me to start?

There happened to be a thumbnail to this video on Anix's page and the guy demanded I take down mine for whatever sad personal reason he may have had. Destructir's comment was spot on.

Any particular reason you do the tracks afterwards?

@ajtame TO make it easier to paint the undersides, and to paint the track black before assembling them. It is a pain to paint them while it is assemble.d

Jawaballs when you paint your models you prime it black and then dragon red do u use washes or quick shade at any stage ????????

@TheDavio95 Not on these, those are short cut techniques. They look good, but there is a noticable difference. I blend and fade the colors from dark to light. I do give a very light wash with baal red to help the blending at the end, but that is a tool to accent the work rather than replace it.
