  • Germans make best guns.

  • @JustAnotherYtuber agreed they make anything good look at the BMW its good being allied with them

  • @dragonblud1

Back in the years before ww2 everything with the "Made in Germany" sticker was seen as cheap and nasty kinda like "Made in China" is today, but Hitler and the Nazi's made Germany produce everything with class and style, this was one of the few good things Hitler did, if you don't beleive me go read about, it tells you about the standards and policies Hitler set for everything that was being produced.

  • @JustAnotherYtuber never said i didnt belive you im with you

  • greatest assault rifle of all time, no matter how old it is :)

  • Amazing how most of today's assualt rifles are based off of the SturmGewehr 44.

  • @Carmine530 It's the first assault rifle. It's the foundation for all modern main battle rifle systems.

  • my favorite assault rifle join my page youtubers if your a fan of the StG44

  • @clarissa1986

You've totally read my post wrong. They're all an assault rifle. Just because it was named MP44 and then changed to STG44, they're both the same gun i.e. both an assault rifle.

  • @clarissa1986 Actually it's real name would have been MKb44, meaning Maschinenkarabiner, or machine carbine, which is essentially what an assault rifle really is. At first they called it MKb42 before it was changed to MP43 (because of Hitler), then to MP44, and finally to StG44 (also because of Hitler).

  • Not to sound like a douche, but people on here kept saying that this machine gun rifle was hard to use. What was so hard about it?

  • @clarissa1986 uhhh no actually for a time it went under the name mp44 because hitler turned down the original idea for an assault rifle. they called it mp44 so that hitler would think it was just another smg being produced but once he saw its raw potential he had the name changed to Sturm-Gewehr 44

  • cool

  • it was originally the mp43 renamed mp44 in 1944 and then hith renamed it sturmgrewer (storm rifle) 44 as a propaganda thing nice gun

  • man i wouldnt be able to afford that gun

  • its about 3000 :P

  • here a legit comment please respond if you know. how did the mp44/stg44 perform under combat situations? how did its accuracy and reliability compare to other period firearms?

  • I have never read any bad comments about its performance. After its initial introduction to the Eastern front, the word spread and the demand from the troops vastly exceeded production (500,000 produced). It was lighter, recoiled less because of the smaller cartridge and troops could carry lots of ammo (224 rounds vs 65 for the 98k). Like most weapons, if kept clean and properly maintained it did its job with minimum malfuctions.

    HB

  • thanks. how about its accuracy?

  • I have not read any ballistic reports. However, long-range accuracy was not required. German military thinkers understood that most of the killing was done at 100 meters or less. Hence, there was no need for a rifle cartridge that was accurate to 1500 meters. Hence, the 8mm Kurz (short) round. It was very accurate at 100 meters and much more accurate than the MP40 with its short 9mm rounds. The biggest problem was Hitler, who didn't want industry to gear up for another caliber.

    HB

  • thanks good info. hitler was the allies greatest general goes the saying.

  • @hansbeerbaum There's a great book called German automatic weapons of WW2 by R. Bruce in which they test the MP44 (along side many other German automatic weapons on a firing range giving detailed reports for each), it performs more or less like a modern assault rifle and is comparable to the AK47 in accuracy, google the book and get a copy if you are interested in the subject it's very good!

  • the sturmgewehr 44 was so advanced that they would triple the number of deaths Kar 98's and MP 42's produced..but they where manufactured too late.

  • "MP44" is wrong.

MP44 was only the name for the Prototype.

The correct Name is "Sturmgewehr 44" (Assaultrifile44)

Nice video by the way - 5*****

  • no mp44 was the exact same model as the stg44, the prototype was the mkb42, and then there was the mp43, and the mp44 which changed only minor things, the stg44 name change was just for propaganda

  • i never read shit like this.

The correct name of this gun is

    Sturmgewehr 44 (StG 44)

  • mp-44 was used to cover it up from hitler because he didnt like the gun but military leaders knew the gun was perfect so they had to hide it and once hitler found out of its success he renamed it the sturmgewehr 44

  • Thats not an MP44, thats an StG44

  • Actually its both. At first it was the MP (MachinenPistole 44) until Hitler Name it the (StG Stumgewehr 44)

  • MP 43 until it was renamed StG44

  • first called a mp44 to fool hitler cause he didnt want it to be produced...

  • same fucking thing

  • i love how all of those comments got negatived. fucking WaW kids thinking they know shit about guns so they negative true facts. i mean...obviously its never been called anything else other than StG 44 cause WaW said so :P. dumb shit call of duty kids...

  • i word. STG 44, PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE stop calling it mp44

  • It's a Stg-44, there's not a "Mp-44".

  • you obviously don't know anything about ww2 weapons.

The MP44, was the original name of the weapon to disquise it as a machine pistol because hitler was against the idea of such a weapon, that fires an intermediate round to be used in battle. Later on in ww2 when Hitler was given a Demo of the weapon and numerous testeminies by SS soldiers and officers, he was convinced, and deemed it worthy, and so He decided to rename the weapon to STG 44 "Storm / assault" Rifle model1944.

  • If he renamed the "MP-44" to Stg-44 (sturmgewehr-Assault rifle) then it doesn't call MP-44 but Stg-44, because this I typed that there's not a MP-44.

  • das ist richtig

sry my englisch is very bad

  • fuck u bitch

  • nice demo

this is the real MP44 sound.

  • is it??

  • thanks God they didn't employed that rifle in a large number because then, the allies would've been screwed! The idea was to give one of those to each soldier. FORTUNATELY it never happened.

  • Roughly 500,000 were manufactured, but you'd need 500,000 skilled soldiers to use them. If they had an additional 5000 Panther tanks, they'd need 25,000 highly skilled crewmen, plus mechanics, fuel, oil, ammo, spare parts, etc.. When you do the math, you realize what a huge undertaking that would have been and why Hitler foolishly "bit off more than Germany could chew."

    HB

  • Not only that, but he put way too much money into trying to round up and send the Jewish people to internment camps.

  • your message doesn't have any sence , this is just a wwii renactor firing a stg44 (blank fire I think) .

  • I agree,

Luckily for the civilized world, Hitler was a stupid little man. If he mass produced this weapon he would of had a huge advantage.

  • he whas drug addict and mental -_-

  • mp44 is the same as stg-44

  • isnt that a stg-44?

  • Same stuff, MP = machinepistole and was the original name but Hitler wanted the name 'sturmgewehr' instead if Im not misscorrect.

  • no sir you are compleatly correct and the stemgewehr means assult gun so that is where the first assult rifle was made

  • no it means storm weapon

  • hitler was stupid not to absolutely love this weapon.

Mp44 was the first "assault rifle" and it has become one of the most dangerous weapons to date.

Mp40 was also good, i am going to buy one.

  • I love mp40's and Fg-42's :P

  • ME TOO! MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITES!

  • Fg42 where the most power ful sniperrifle in my mind.... eveny tho they where auto

  • ...sniper rifle?!?

  • Some had scopes......., pretty hi accuracy others where just standard sights..... not all that good for a long range fight tho.....yay....... other thuiing has 2 Thumbs up :P

  • and Night vision....Vampir :P

  • night vision on a ww2 era gun??!! wierd

  • The STG44 did have a night vision attachment,

The Germans were and still are genius, pioneers of this world, even though they were evil b**stards in history.

  • Truw true but i disaagree on the bastards in history.

Don't say like its every german soldier.

It was all politics they fought cuz they were either doing their call of duty or force to many were horrible soldiers but we can't forget the fact that many many were respectable young men.

I have met many great and real friendly german soldiers of WW2.

They had respect for alot of U.S soldiers.

Don't say it like their ppl who should be shun.

  • Sure.

I personally don't have such an optimistic view on the human race.

My view on this subject is, if you prepared to fight, kill, be killed for a cause that systematically gassed, cooked, slaughtered ppl for no good reason, your only excusable reason for being a soldat in the third Reich is ignorance.

Would you fight for your country if you knew they were mass murdering innocent people???

  • That was SS.

    And no i would not.

But do think they had a joice?

    They didn't want to die.

If they didn't do as order they were killed or imprison.

Put yourself in german soldier situation.

It was like if your kernal order you to kill a person in a horrible way and if you didn't do so you were heading for your grave if you were that soldier what would you have done?

    And c'mon U.S isn't innnocent either.

  • "c'mon U.S isn't innnocent either."

    That's True.

  • its a typo.... sorry :'(

  • Haha you can even say they were light machineguns.

  • great gun back in the day. If i ever start buying oldschool guns,, m1 grand and mp44,, sturmgewehr are some of the first ill be getting. Im so surprised hitler hated it. It had stamped parts, making it easy and fast to make. Its fucking auto,, another plus. And good weapon for say street fighting and close quarters to mid range

  • sturmgewehr, stg44, mp43, mp44, any of thos names can be used lol... technicaly when it was made it was rejected by hitler the first model that is! the mp43 then they continued the project behind his back and he later excepted the gun hence "mp44".

  • no mp 44 its the same mp for maschinenpitole but the real name its Sturmgewehr (MP) 44 mp for machine gun

  • let's just say.. it's a STG 44.. stg=sturmgewehr and mp=machinepistole.... just to simplyfy what u probably just said

  • that's the same name

  • *sigh*, Another lot of people who don't know what the difference of the MP44 and the STG44. Let me put this straight, THEY ARE THE SAME GUN. When the germans were making it in ww2, Hitler canceled the project, saying that SMGs were all they needed. But they kept on making it in secret. They renamed it to "mp44" to disguise it as an SMG, which it really wasnt. When hitler found the weapon when inspecting troops, he realised that he made a mistake and renamed it to STG 44.

  • HEY, you stole my post from another MP44 related video! What ever you do, DO NOT STEAL POSTS. It just goes to show that 1. You dont know anything about the topic and just trying to be a smartass, and 2, You're a complete idiot. I somewhat find this as a compliment as someone actually used a post of mine on another vid. Is it really that helpful? Anyways, Just don't steal to avoid people getting pissed at you.

  • HAHA! ANUS!

  • Sturmgewehr 44

    und nicht MP 44 lol

  • get it rite. its STG 44

  • isn't this gun like the early version of the ak-47 that the russian guy made??

  • kolesnokaugh? wtf his name was. picked one up and really liked it. he was in the russian tank regiment and really fired it. he a war vet decided to make the perfect field weapon

  • ya man it was that i think...he made this gun when he was recovering from some war wound.

  • kalashnikov :)

  • Sorta, Kalashnikov used the M{-44 as a basis for the AK-47

  • I would love to own one....what a piece of history...but you are looking at 15,000 to 21,000 dollars plus the ATF bull crap...

  • nice movie

  • Lame... That's a wrong way to hold StG.44.

  • i forget look around the net, but they make repop stgs, mp40s, and fg42!

  • What ??? The Russia has this weapon copy whits the Ak

  • ajpeters-

more reverse engineering by the Soviet weapons industry. They were quite good at ripping off other's ideas and making them uniquely red army i.e mass produced, ugly, and capable of functioning in the hands of a peasant in sub zero temps. Good way to cut R&D costs but still lacks the imagination of German designers.

  • The StG44 and the AK-47 are in NO WAY related, nor was one a copy of the other. They operate on completely different systems. The only thing that stands out to me visually is the big bannana mag and the tall front sight.

And dremorachurl is correct, you can't hold a StG that way or you will burn your hand on the barrel.

  • kalashnikov, the guy who designed the ak-47 got the idea after firing the stg44, captured it from the germans in ww2

  • wrong

  • As a german conscript I had the G3 assault rifle. The G3 & CETME rifle based directly from the MP44.

  • The AK47 is also better in the fact that in can fire in almost any curcumstance given. Kalashnikov is a genious and his secret to making the Ak47 fire in almost any condition are that the moving parts in the weapon are further apart than other weapons so sand, dirt, mud, water etc. can get in those spots and it will still fire. Also the tolerances are not as strict on the Ak as lets say the M16 or M4 Carbine.

  • The Soviets pretty much took the StG 44 and made it so that a monkey could use it. Seeing that the AK-47 is less accurate, the sights are crude, and the fire selector switch and the cocking handle are on the wrong side, the StG 44 seems to be better than the AK-47 in every aspect except for productivity and ease of use.

  • @Bf2009 And reliability.

  • Didn't the Soviets steal this design when they invaded Germany to design the AK-47?

  • It is my understanding that the AK47 was inspired by the MP44. It is not a direct copy. The AK has a lot more wood in it,for example and is not selective fire. The MP44 would hold up very well these days, except that the 8mm Kurz round is no longer manufactured.

  • no a company in germany started making brass and new rounds afew years ago because they started making new STG's in semi only and alot of other guns.

  • yes they did!

  • How effective are these guns now? I would of thought the stg44 would hold up pretty well, seeing as it was well ahead of it's time.

  • The MP44 was a very effective and well made rifle. Its now an old design however. The AK47 and M16 are improvements. They all share one thing in common---they look really cool and that's what counts. :-)

    HB

  • No, StG-44. The Russkies stole it and made the Kilashnokov 47 from the gun's schematics

  • yes, as may outher things.

  • cool

  • Sweet
