My parents had divorced when I was little and I lived with my grandparents. I didn't get close to my parents til I was a little older. They WERE Mommy and Daddy for the first 8 years of my life. Now I can finally understand this song. I think I have a new favorite. And guess what I'll be singing at her funeral.

my father just died. he died of a heart attack a couple of days ago but i just go the news. he left when i was 4 years old. and i had only just resnently got into contact with him. i wish i had had more time to get to know him.

I lost my grandfather. This song helps me think not to live in the past no matter what i must remember he is always there. It is a comforting feeling to know that.

@MCRKiira :'( i know exactly how you feel, my grandad past away on my first day of college. i was given his necklace, he wore it everyday since he was young, and i have worn it everyday since, and i didnt get to say goodbye to him either, one day his heart just stopped beating and for a week he was in hospital where i couldnt reach him. your lucky to have a father like that, mine told me to stop crying and get on with life but i still havent, but i carry a piece of him in my heart everyday <3

@boscosgirl4 Same here, I was at my choir camp when I heard the news, I tried to hold it together when I heard it, but when the numbness went away I silently cried when I packed up my stuff, even when everyone looked at me. The doctors said that he had many blocked veins and a stem wouldn't fix any of them, most likely he was to die... I swore I cried so much it could make up all the years I've never. I still thank god my dad lived, I would've died without him...
I think Emme Rossum nailed the Christine part more, Sarah Brightman's sounds almost TOO trained as an opera singer for being 19. In the movie, it's more believable, Emme has a sweet nature about her voice which is very appealing!

I sang this at a talent show two years ago, and was crying onstage, it was the year my uncle Al died, the last thing he gave me was a buquet of lollipops for my 8th bday, he died 5 months later from pancreotic cancer. When I went to school the next day, everything I worked on was covered in tears,. I Won 2nd place and the judges cried too, Miss Clark my ELA teacher gave me the prize of a trophy and itunes giftcard and a hug. she cried too. I'll miss her next year.

My grandfather died when I was 11. Next month, in mid-august, will be the 5th anniversary of his death. I had seen the play earlier that year and I thought of this song when my mother told me and my siblings. As his first grandchild, I was very close to my grandfather and I will always miss him. I sing Opera, I love classical music and also find this song beautiful but, I also enjoy metal and screamo and it requires the same amount of voice control and talent as any other vocie artist out there. I Won 2nd place and the judges cried too, Miss Clark my ELA teacher gave me the prize of a trophy and itunes giftcard and a hug. she cried too. I'll miss her next year.

My grandfather died when I was 11. Next month, in mid-august, will be the 5th anniversary of his death. I had seen the play earlier that year and I thought of this song when my mother told me and my siblings. As his first grandchild, I was very close to my grandfather and I will always miss him. RIP Grandpa Jim, you will forever hold a special place in my heart!

i have an uncle. i knew him well. but now my family wants me to have nothing to do with him....he was one of the best people i knew,when i went to see him one last time,he just dissapered...and never seen or heard of again....the only thing i have of a rememberance of him is a painting that he did and a photograph!!!! uncle!!! if your reading this.... i miss you so!!!!

My advanced treble choir class are singing this song for a concert in a few weeks and these girls can't even sing it with such sad emotion. I bet none of the girls in my class never stopped to think how sad this song is susposed to me. They think it's a song that they can just toss around. I nearly cried in class while singing this song because it reminds me so much about my grandfather dying.

Today was the 6th year anniversary of my grandfather's death. He died of lung cancer, but he died peaceful and beside his family members. When I sent out the email to my family to remind them of today, I used this song. Nothing could be closer to the truth this song held for all of us. </3

@BrieHines1 I don't comment on youtube often but I just have to say that music is an art form and like any other art form it is opinion based. I sing Opera, I love classical music and also find this song beautiful but, I also enjoy metal and screamo and it requires the same amount of voice control and talent as any other vocie artist out there. Rather than call those who do not have the same opinion as yourself idiots, why not just enjoy the song?

@bigshowdog34 I once thought the way as you do, but it was only after much experience that led me to finally conclude about relations being mere pairs of colliding particles that eliminate themselves in a flash. It is kind of complicated. Anyway, maybe it is re-assuring to inform you that consciousness does not fade after death. That is plenty of evidence on this but many people do not accept it due to normative values. Do the research yourself, but you all are grieving over nothing.

How we dont have that silly kid around to bother us. Yet at the same time this event has changed us. We know God has him in his care. His consciousness may not fade, but his body is in a dirty hole in the ground. Stop thinking so freaking negatively i mean honestly. Try looking at a glass half full sometime.

The problem is that I am trying to bring out something that many people will probably misunderstand due to their lack of knowledge or understanding in some areas that they have not yet explored. After all, you all are still young, perhaps you all are not ready to know certain things yet, but the time will come.
