If you look closely at 5:49 when the bell rings, you can see the ref saying "Time" right as the bell rings. He wasn't late, and I agree with Roach in the interview afterward.
There's no doubt that Concepcion is a great fighter, he would have likely won this one anyway. Had he won, Luevano might not have had the chance to fight and lose against Juanma, and Abe could have fought Juanma earlier. I understand there are many Abe fans here, but Juanma showed how hard he hits again with both guys.

Refs have done way more controversial things and not taken flack. This was pretty obvious. It doesn't matter if it was with malice or not.

For Concepcion, he didn't notice the bell. He should always be aware of that. For Luevano, as a boxer, he should guard himself at all times.

That was Jay Nady's fault for not getting between the fighters when the round was over. Concepcion clearly did not hear the bell because he never dropped his hands or stopped fighting.
