What a sad and disturbing posting this is. All these women singing a fabulous hymn blissfully unaware that their so-called church teaches nothing more than a monstrous falsehood. Charles Wesley's Hymn is a doxology on the spiritual Kingship of our Lord Jesus Christ. That makes Him God. Get it? That means there is a Holy Trinity. That means the Gospel doesn't work without it. That means the Bible's clear teaching on Christian redemption is Sufficient and complete. You don't need book of mormon.
@longeaton34 i beleive in the lord jesus christ and i know he is our saviour and that we are all his children and that the bible and book of mormon are true and that the church of jesus christ of latter day saints is true and have you ever read the book of moromon? i ask you to because if you go looking for answers wholeheartedly and with pure intent you will know the truth.
Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
"Another Testament" of Christ? Think not..........
Baptising the dead? You make the Cross to none effect. You are bypassing the cross. Jesus knew of HELL, yes HELL, not an outer darkness. I do not like it either, but Jesus makes the way, he paid the price.
@sinaejoy Baptism for the dead was practiced in the Church that Jesus founded and that the Apostles continued after his death and resurrection. In an epistle to the Corinthians Paul makes clear reference to the practice- 1 Corinthians 15:29. Some of the people he was writing to didn't believe in the reality of the resurrection and he corrected them on that doctrine. "if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?"
@sinaejoy You say that Jesus is God which is true...God the Son. Clearly He had body of flesh and bones that was resurrected. That means God has a body. His Father also has a body. They are one in purpose, not in being. That you can be both a father and son to yourself defies logic. Jesus also prayed in John 17:20-23 that his disciples would be one as He and His Father were one and that his disciples would also be one with the Father and Son? How could that mean anything but one in purpose?
@sinaejoy As far as the God is a Spirit scripture- John 4:24- it should read "For unto such hath God promised his Spirit. And they who worship him, must worship in spirit and in truth." This is a mistranslation.
Does not the choir sing songs from the aposate churches?
Do not even the children of the dead churches know Christ was born in Bethlehem and not Jerusalem? And don't give me that land thing meant "nearby." It means the whole land in general. God word is perfect, Joseph was wrong.
@sinaejoy The Book of Mormon says that Christ will be born AT Jerusalem not In Jerusalem. AT Jerusalem means in the same land Jerusalem is in, or in it's environs. Bethlehem is only a few miles from Jerusalem. The Book of Mormon is very much correct in it's description.
You want to be classified as Christian, especially when Mitt was running, in order to "fit in." Yet your church declared first that ALL other churches were in aposatsy first. So why cry and want to be associated with the dead Christian churches you supossedly restored? You cannot have it both ways.
@sinaejoy Christian means to believe in Christ. We believe in Christ, therefore we are Christian. The Lord knows we believe in Him, so it matters not what others think of us.
You believe America was founded as a Christian nation, yet Christianity was dead in apostasy 1700 years and needed to be restored. 1776 comes before 1820s. What needed to be restored? NOTHING.
@sinaejoy A restoration was needed because the Church that Jesus founded with Apostles and Prophets, and with the full power and authority of His holy Priesthood was taken from the earth when after the original Apostles were killed. Doctrines were changed;philosophy and men's interpretations crept in. A lot of true doctrine remained though. People still believed in Christ and therefore were Christian. This nation was founded by true believers even though their was a need for a restoration.
@usenetposts It's not the writer or composer that matters, it's the music and the words they write. A lot of hymns in our hymnbook are written by non-members.
@starfruitdust well not to say the Lds church cant do it... but its not wise to put songs such as this or How firm a foundation into a hymn book when it clearly teaches biblical sufficiency.
Thank you for posting this version. It's quite inspiring. I much prefer this musical adaptation of Wesley's lyrics than his lyrics paired with other music.
If the LORD is King , then do what he says and Live the United Order. If you are Pure in Heart you will Learn of the True ZION.

God is a Spirit and should be worshipped as a spirit. He is NOT flesh and bone.
For the created to say they will be a god is blasphemy. Read what the Lord says about hinself in the KJV you do not read.
Your Jesus is created, the true Jesus is God. There is only ONE God.
BTW, the Book of Mormon is right many times saying the Father, Son and Holy Spirit ARE ONE GOD. And now you do not even believe the BoM?
But you believe the words of man over the Word of God?
Wake up people.

I am surprised that Mormons consider Wesley worthy to be sung, after all, he was not anywhere near them theologically.
