@GTA4SeriesMissions That sort of game HAS to be linear, since it's entirely story-driven. An open world Max Payne would ruin the best aspect of the franchise, the noir storytelling. Plus, Max isn't the type of guy that would go wreaking havoc in the streets.

The game never mentioned Michelle was raped. As far as we know, junkies were sent into his house to murder Michelle & the baby to set Max off.
