  • wolfs rain does have such an amazing soundtrack, I ever catch myself listening it after some time

  • Maravilloso. Intenso. Puedo recordar las escenas de este épico e increíble anime. Grande, Yoko Kanno!

  • So Epic!

  • So beautiful.

  • What genre is this?

  • She could have asked him if she could use it also. But yeah, when I heard "Finding Beauty" I went crazy because I KNEW I heard it in a Wolf's Rain song, and I kept trying to find it.

  • This song provides me hope for humanity, in some manner.

  • who gives a DAMN if Craig Armstrong composed a similar song, they are both a masterpiece! IF it is such a big deal then they would have settled it already. There are a lot of songs that share similar chord patterns and melodies, but thats okay. The songs are not exactly the same, so its cool, and they both sound fucking awesome to me so I favorite them BOTH!! Deal with it!

  • very touching..

  • Which composer did she 'ripp off' with this peice? specifically 1:17

  • @IPunchUnicorns Craig Armstrong - finding beauty

  • this song makes me cry. its epic and i love it. :')

  • LOLing at all the "music critics" who think they can write better music than Yoko Kanno just because they can spot ONE SAMPLE in a song. not in a million years.

  • @KayneArcheron oh yeah!!!

  • Effing hell I love both this and Craig Armstrong's piece. And for you idiots saying she stole it, it's not stealing she simply sampled it. Both are great and good in theirown respects.

  • rip-off of Craig Armstrong 'finding beauty'

  • @ProuteurFou - and how many rip offs of Pachebel's Canon in D are there?

    look up Pachebel Rant

if you search deeply enough you'll find this part in even older pieces maybe not the way you'd think but everyone is influenced by something.

  • Finding beauty is better than this. You know why? Because it's original.

  • @RRRRapify

just cause anything is original doesn't necessarily make it better.

example: A Velo is pretty much nothing compared to a Mazeratti, but the Velo is the original.

but you may prefer one over the other.

In my opinion I enjoy Face On better because it slows down that sequence, some of the instrumentation changes and the change in the auxiliary percussion styling and rhythm.

tho I enjoy Finding beauty especially for the cello part which is more moving in this than Face On.

  • @RRRRapify who cares. i actualy like this version better! its cooler and it makes me feel more alive than finding beauty. and the beginning to this song is amazing :) and also everything is slowed down. i like it better. who cares if she rippped it off!! theyre both incredible peices!

  • @datravelers well obviously I do care. And the original composer would most likely too.

  • @RRRRapify the origonal composer might me happy i think. because he might like it that yoko changed it up a bit. he might really like it. :)

  • @datravelers what!? she didn't change it, she stole it, indirectly stole it! And if she's gaining from that without without proper consent or at least credit from the original composer, then that's just low.

    check this out - watch?v=eOy3AuB5PtI

  • @RRRRapify she didnt steal all of it... 0:01-1:10 i dont remember in finding beauty. ;) i like it. u can not like it all you want but i like it and i dont care if she "ripped it off"

  • @datravelers You're a BITCH for condoning theft

  • @PopCulture20 woah dude, im just saying i dont think its wrong she used a tiny bit of finding beauty to make a song for the show, I really really like this, and i really like finding beauty, theyre both amazing in there own way!! :) please dont hate on me!! dont hate on Yoko, please.. ;)

  • YES!!!! YES!!!! I WAS SEARCHING FOR THIS ONE SONG THROUGH THE ENTIRE ST FINNALLY FOUND IT!!!! IT WAS THE ONE SONG THAT GOT ME HOOKED ON THE SERIES CANT FIND THE DRUM VERSION OF SHIRO LONG TAILS BUT THIS IS JUST AS GOOD MADE MY DAY!!!

  • 1:12 - 2:10 <3

i love this song so much!

  • and i have heard finding beauty, which is great but i actually like this rendition better.

  • the second half is so awesome...

  • 1:10 to 2:10 that's Craig Armstrongs Finding Beauty.

  • @ohmannhey You're right... plagiarism, but still beautiful.

  • jesus why does wols rain make me feel so so...NOSTALGIC!!? ive seen it so many times but i know somehwere deep in my memories its something more..something..like ive been somewhere like paradise before

  • I liked it more when it was called Finding Beauty by Craig Armstrong.

  • @daspare1 yeah for sure

  • I just noticed that from 1:10 to 2:10 was used in the background on portions of "America's Got Talent" when they focus on certain contestants or groups. How odd.

  • this one's better then the original in my opinion.

  • @Crim707 usually the case with yoko kanno

  • What a wonderfull song and for the best nime ;) nice!

  • @SpikeJKD: True.

  • Well she is a proffesional muscician, she may have accidentally made it similar to other songs, which more then likely was done naturally and involuntarily, becuase she was feeling the music and not trying to rip other artists work for her own

  • @JakariHanma nah she definitely steals quite a bit. Have you even listened to finding beauty? because there hasn't even been any changes made to the string melody

  • @BENebuchadnezzar Hurr durr responding to a comment I left 7 months ago, this discussion has fallen into oblivion...Stop responding

  • @JakariHanma Someone's in a little angry mood today, sorry for fucking with your day.

  • @BENebuchadnezzar .........Yea thats exactly it...Im angry... e_e RAAAAAAGGGGGEEEE.

  • @JakariHanma haha

  • this is a shameless ripoff of Armstrong's work. almost no one cares about the song except from 1:10 and on - which is Finding Beauty. anyone suggesting otherwise is speaking out of pure delusion engendered by emotional attachment to yokko kanno or her work. i have lost all respect - how much more of her work is plagiarized?

    credit where it's due.

  • its not plagiarism, because plagiarism laws in japan are tigh she would have been fined long ago, its just music get over it, don't see Beethoven or Bach crying over it nor Craig Armstrong. fag.

  • @vector623 I like the intro it sounds badass.

  • @vector623: Sounds closest to Armstrong but is not the same thing :P

  • @FarmStudios have to agree, and it's not like he can claim to have created a universal four note phrase...plus in most of his pieces Armstrong is really just mimicking really basic string accompaniments that have been utilized forever!

  • craig armstrong, but yoko kanno.. what a composer! this is the right tempo for (deep) emotions, nothing to compare with the original. what an arrangement, what a woman

  • i luv yoko kanno! ^_^ such a good song i luv the part 1:11 - 2:14!!!

  • I wouldn't call this song a cover of "Finding Beauty". Ms. Kanno borrowed the theme if she did not develop it independently. The two songs have very different moods. There's a note I began writing while listening to "Face On" in the course of listening to the album and writing an essay about religion. I can't see myself having written that note had I been listening to "Finding Beauty". They are both great songs by great composers, and they stand apart on their own individual merits.

  • 1:10 ---> fucking epic!

  • @Joehands0me ....shiver....

  • @Joehands0me You Should Make a CoD Montage w/ that song. ;)

  • Great Soundtrack XD

  • 2nd favorite song, all the songs rock. Good graphics, awesome songs, cool plot...wolf rain is an instant classic.

  • my fave part of this song is 0:26 through 0:41

  • This is amazing. Yoko Kanno is very good.

  • I love this.

  • the best one

  • pretty sweet song, even better after the quiet break

  • OMG, i was just lookin for this song!! I luv the instrumental after the pause its so beautiful!! ...wow i cant believe that part came from someone else...i dont care though whoever made it..its beautiful!!

  • yea its from the song "finding beauty" by craig armstrong. check it out, you'll probably like it.

  • seems "face on" is just a cover, still, better than the original , imho

  • agreed.

  • @IQueenJadeI if you want to be technical, there is nothing really "original" about Craig Armstrong...it's just watered-down classical music and, as a review I read a while back said, the classical concert in mix tape form. And that's not a knock on his music, I'm just saying that you can't copyright a simple string phrase that was used hundreds of years before Armstrong, plus the initial section is completely distinct

  • Sounds similar to "Finding Beauty" but alot better kinda the same way she did w/ Hooverphonics "Battersea" by making "Cyberbird" but I like both Battersea and Cyberbird equally.

  • I Love This Song :)

    Wolfs Rain 100% Amazing

  • I'm loving this

  • Was this song also used in "Ghost in The Shell" OST?

  • i like this tune, its a cool remix, in a way shes done craig armstrong a favour because finding beauty isnt realy tune everyone knows so.

  • It's a shame that Yoko Kanno plagiarized Craig Armstrong's "Finding Beauty" for this song. When she is capable of composing very original and amazing work like "Inner Universe" it makes me wonder why she would stoop as low as plagiarism.

  • i like the way you sent almost the exact same message on my saving private ryan video, i spose your right, but i like this! i think its a cool remix.

  • I'd probably think nothing of it if only Yoko Kanno would give credit where credit is due, which she hasn't done for this song and several others that she has done. Then again, if it wasn't for "Face On", I would have never found out about "Finding Beauty". She is still a talented composer and I guess in her defense she isn't the first and won't be the last to plagiarize music. Just listen to the Harry Gregson-Williams' Metal Gear Solid theme and Sviridov's "The Snowstorm".

  • i wouldnt call it plagiarism thatz like saying a DJ cant reamix a song id call it taking someones melody and making it better but see where your coming from

  • As a lover of all different kinds of music, and a music composer during my free time, I think that there is a very vague line between taking someone's song, and composing one that sounds like it. What I'm trying to say is, music like this has set chord progressions, set instruments to be used, and a set tempo. Even if she didn't know the song, it'll still be easy to compose one that sounds just like "Finding Beauty" without noticing it.

It's kind of like how some jazz songs sounds exactly alike.

  • where can you down load there songs?

  • I love this song!

  • I love Wolf's Rain. Best anime ever!!!!

    1000000000/5! ^_^

  • love it! :D

  • one of the only great songs from Kanno

  • the best song of them all on wolf's rain
