do you sincerely believe that the wings will be back to defend their western conf championship? theyve lost a lot and osgoods not getting any better. id say expect chitown, or maybe calgary, vancouver, anaheim, or sj to be in the cup. i think the wings are done.
as for the pens, im a pens fan, but my pick to win the division is the flyers, and probably the conference too, unless boston pulls it off.

what we lost Hossa? he punched his ticket out of Detroit by not showing up for the Stanley Cup Finals. Who else have we lost hmm... Osgood is a great goal tender and im not worried about him for next year. Plus our younger players are GREAT!! Why would I be worried about our team being able to put together another run when thats what Detroit has done since the Lockout. Our depth is great so i dont know what your smoking thinking were done

first off, if you think osgood is a great goaltender then you really are confused. hes anything but great. anyway, yes, you lost hossa. he didnt show up with the wings, but he showed up in the playoffs for the pens. he shoulda never left pit. he coulda scored 70 on sids wing.
your young players dont do anything till the playoffs. helm, abdelkader, cleary, really dont do much during the season. wings are deep on D, thats it. your team is old. get ready to watch them disintegrate.

and what do you mean about "putting together runs since the lockout"? do you not remember getting knocked out in the first rd by the 8th seed oilers in 2006?

We have shut him down before so i dont know why you think he will be so good in chicago. Second Conklin was just that a BACKUP if we had lost osgood id be worried but the guy replacing Conklin isnt that bad either buddy. Plus here is where the argument ends whether the wings win the cup or dont they are always in the playoffs and if it takes them a few years to build another cup team so be it no other team in the NHL can stay good like the wings do.

when did the wings shut down hossa? he had a pretty good cup series while on the pens against the wings. then he was on your team last year. again, im glad you dont fear hossa. i, on the other hand, do. but hes not my problem now.
conks may have been a backup, but when your "starter" is as shitty as osgood, a backup may as well be a starter. osgood got benched a few times this season in favor of conks. they mighta won the cup with conklin in net.

@goat6668 That's why Osgood was one of the big reasons for the turnaround on the New York Islanders in 2001-02.That was a trashy team up until he went there.The Wings are the only team in the league who have scouts over in Europe.That's why they find these superstars in the later rounds.The rest of the league should be thankful there is a salary cap,because the wings would just go out and get whoever they wanted on the free agent market,and you know it.The Yankees of hockey,just deal with it.

@WEINBAUER his stats are phenomenal. of course, it doesnt hurt to have your team buy up almost every free agent that comes along. hull, robitaille, chelios... the list is days long. theyve had rosters where i might have been able to take them to the playoffs in net. osgood only has a .905 career save %, the most important goalie stat. wins can come from a good team, GAA can stay low with good D, but save % is what it is. it doesnt tell the WHOLE story, but with the wings, it tells enough.
