It would be great if you would also show how to set the key, otherwise... you don't get the T-Pain effect. I almost missed it where your text said to set the key setting.
I ordered the Boss VE-20 just before I moved into my new location and I've yet to hook it up to check it out. Getting all my equipment hooked up is taking a bit longer than I expected. I'll be glad when I am able to get around to checking out the Boss VE-20.
@pdbordelon I've got it and the soft setting for the pitch correction sounds pretty good, not obviously correcting like the electric setting, just smooths things out a bit without making you sound like a robot.
I think i've found the settings for T-pain autotune effect on Boss VE 20: Do as follows: Pitch correction : ON Type: ELECTRIC SCALE MAJ (min) Gender: +6 Octave: +1 Dynamics: ON Depth: 100% Low cut: ON Tune/SFX: ON Type: PREAMP Bass : -2db Middle: 0 Treble: 0 leave the others parameters just as it is 'PRACTICE AND ENJOY"
@jeper1969- Hi man, yes i have also not been able to squeeze that Pitch correct FX sound he makes, I can get it happenning but not as dramatic as he does..but man , how good is the sampler!! I do a show in schools and have been composing a song on the spot for the kids , man they freak!!!!!! hahahaha
I've had this pedal for a couple of weeks, so far I'm not impressed. When i recorded my vocals to my Zoom HD16 on playback I noticed that they sounded "warblely" as if someone was slowing down a tape on a reel to reel as the song played. Any ideas on this? if not I've got one of these for sale brand new with the power adaptor.
I use the Rc50 Loop station and LOVE it - I wanna get this pedal, but before I do, I have one question. Do you need to turn the knob to switch between patches? I'm really hoping you can use the pedals to switch into different effects so I don't have to bend down on stage.
@eliguy Yes, you can change the patches with the pedal. I was just using mine on the desk. For live use, you could use the factory patches or program you own custom patches too.
what I'm curious about is,the type of music and vocal stuff I do,I like to use different voices, male, female etc..I've been using a voice changer for those effects but it does not sound real, does this thing work as a voice changer female to male, male to female type of realistic sound as well??
@ntlightning This pedal is good for changing male/female or female/male when you are doing harmonies, but by themselves they still sound like chipmunks high or a big monster man on low...about the same as most voice changer pedals
@ColbyMillerFilms Yes, there is a separate knob just for the reverb alone. Plus, you can do 2 effects on top of that, like harmonies and pitch correct or whatever 2 you want to use.
Does the boss ve 20 make sound itself??? and if not, then after I plug in my mic, how do I make it make sound??? lol sorry noob here.
And how the hell can you take the patches you made, and transfer them to a computer????? and whats plugged into the back of it, and what are those connected to???
Can u tell me.I have used it at live shows and found that running it on batterys is sounds a little distorted?..has anyone else had this problem? should i buy a power adapter?
This pedal is really easy to set up and use. You can just save your settings in the memory and when you need them, just push the pedal to get to that setting.
Thanks for responding so quickly. So if I understand your response, this effect can't be used live and mist be recorded to hear? I can't use it hooked up to a sound board or amp??????
@shaffers41 You definitely can use it to record with or play with live, you just have to get used to hearing your own voice singing with the effect (that was the double voice you hear when you use it.) Practice any type of recording, direct in, pa recording. etc. using the pitch correct electric setting and you'll see what I mean. That way you will be able to hear and see exactly how the auto-tune is working.
I tried this to the letter and don't get near the "Tpain" sound at all. Can't figure out why it's different since your instructions were clear. Mine sounds like double voices and no electric sound what so ever. Can anyone help please?
@shaffers41 I had the same thing happen when I first started using the pedal. The double sound you are hearing is your own voice with the effect. You will definitely hear the effect when you record with the pedal or through a PA.
i bought it and cant get nothing from pitch correct i followed what you sad but effect dosent kick at all what im doing wrong plz help thats sound amazing all other effects are ok plz help
hey man .....its says USER Settings!!!!! Not factory presets!! You are displaying aUSER setting bank Number 65 ! So you have selected a factory preset and are now tweeking it right??
@candidcomment Yeah, I just got this yesterday and i'm thinking the same thing. Factory presets go up to 58 then the rest are blank. So he must have programed #62 as a pitch correct and tweeked it up. Hopefully he'll tell us all what modifications he used because in my intial messing with the unit I can't get anything close to what he has in sound. Damn it!
Such a shame that everyone now associates this Pitch correction with T pain.....Daft Punk used this effect on their Vocals on the Discovery album about ....must be 8yrs ago at least....Their use of it is sublime, musical and not over done..Nice video man ..I actually just bought a unit today to use with my show live.
Great tutorial, great trick, will be trying it soon! I just got a question... when I'm using phrase loop and I am standing up playing the flute/singing (like in the last video on my channel), do I always have to change the effect using the wheel? isn't there a way to use a pedal... I know if I press the right pedal for a few seconds then I can change the effects with it... but not when I'm using phrase loop... am I right, or is there a way around this?? Cheers mate, keep up the good work! :)
i just bought one of these and i was wondering if there is a way to bypass all of the effects so when your talking to the crowd you dont have delay ect.. when ur talking??
thanks mate . . i have been trying to do it by listening to myself live . . where i guess the sound of my own voice drowns out the altered sound from the speakers . . now i trust my VE 20 heaps more!!! awesome
Is he able to transform my voice into female voice? or male voice?

Sure. If you want to play Alternative Tentacles jazzy Pop or New Wave for kids. It would sound ridiculous.

hey i got a question, how many channels does it have? can there be than one vocalist using it?

@EWSdaily there is only 1 input channel, but you can use a splitter and both singers would have the same effect

How can i hook up 2 mics to this. if so can i have seperate effects on them?

@thebr3ttest You would need a cable splitter to put 2 mics on it. There is only 1 input, so the same effects would be on both mics.
