  • Hardest game Ive ever played coulnt get pass the fourth level.

  • good stuff!!!!!!!!!

  • In fact, games like Battletoads & Double Dragon are so RARE!

  • Originally this was my Best Song in this game until i got to level 5 where that became my Best Song in this game.

  • hahaha i dnt think anyone notices, but i think its funny and love how the Double Dragon characters are referred to as The Dragons.

  • You know what rhymes with "whip"?

    "Cunt."

  • Everything David Wise has ever made sticks in your head for years on end after only hearing it once.

  • @GreenGearMood Has He worked on the DOnkey Country soundtracks? I cant help but connect this song too them

  • @AgroCocky86 Yes.

  • @GreenGearMood Good too Know XD

  • David Wise: keeping heavy metal alive in the early 90s!

  • idk i like genesis version better

  • @coltina666 lol :)

  • would mosh @1:10

  • Battle toads and Double dragons. Teaching kids everywhere the dangers of BDSM

  • Oh yes....back when video game music was awesome and original. Now a days everything has to be metal or wannabe rock. I love metal but its crap thats being put out there.

  • Those chicks with the whips......they traumatized my childhood.... O.O

  • My best song on this game

  • I beat this game the first time I played it. For some f'd up reason I could never beat ANY of the DD or BT games if my life depended on it.

  • This game is a CLASSIC.

  • Gotta miss playing this game. I admit I suck so much that I never really beat it without the code...

  • Thumbs up if you said sexist, degrading things when the beatings were occuring, like "I TOLD you to stay in the kitchen, bitch!"

  • @xxjakethasnakexx I used to say either these two things using the Battletoads:

"I wanna a new toy! Wanna! Wanna! WANNA! WANNA!!!" or "Happy! Happy! JOY! JOY!!!"

  • This game needs to be added to the Xbox live arcade, and Psn store.

  • 0:23 Donkey kong Country lol xD

  • Randy Orton's Fighting Game theme in my opinion!

  • Battletoads and Double Dragon, the video game equivalent of Chuck Norris and Mr. T or Arnold from the Predator and Rambo teaming up to kick some ass.

  • I remember going down on the rope line and kicking those birds to get 1-ups for later levels

  • Never can another game capture the epic sounds of getting clocked in the face with falling hair dryers

  • this has a little of donkey kong music built into it...just a music observation :)

  • @g8282 Well Battletoads IS by Rare. I'd love to see them do a new version, but it's not likely.

  • @doomrider7 And seeing as Rare Ltd. is now wholly owned by Microsoft and MS$ said pretty much flat-out that they weren't making a new console, take it as you see it.

  • @SonJazrin I consider that fact one of the biggest "Epic Fails" ever. Rare did some of their best work with Nintendo.

  • @doomrider7

    I agree with you completely.

  • My ABSOLUTE favorite music in this game!!!

  • the beginning of this song sounds very similar to "tearin up my heart" by nsync!! lol

  • *Grabs blond bitch by hair and slams her into ground multiple times*

    :D

  • Oh man, the nostalgia is overwhelming. This music also feels kind of emotional.

  • if they made this into an animated movie and put the songs from snes version it would be fucking bad ass.

  • wow this song has a mixture of like 3 or 4 genres LOL. first one is like a house type of beat, then the jungle part that everyone talks about, then it goes back into the house type of beat. right after that the jungle again and then into a badass rock style lol. loved this game back then and still love it!

  • The music fit so much when you were going down the chutes and dodging the garbage falling down after you.

  • I can't play games now they are FAR too easy. Beating a game back then was epic. You had to have a few friends cheering you on just to beat most games. Now everything is: Run here CUT SCENE Run here CUT SCENE Boss battle END. Alas, the days of high scores and sense of accomplishment have passed. GRAPHICS GUNS AND GUITARS that's what sells in this ADHD world.

  • @xrockthe40ozx most games today are like that. there are a couple that retain the difficulty of NES,SNES games.

  • @xrockthe40ozx You deserve at least 1000 thumbs up for that comment.

  • @xrockthe40ozx have you played Contra 4 on the DS? I strongly recommend that game for hardcore gamers :D:D

  • @xrockthe40ozx I agree

  • @xrockthe40ozx

    Couldn't agree more.

Games back in Nes & Snes era were challenging. Novadays they're just.... cutscenes.

  • @xrockthe40ozx Oh man, that's right on

  • Comment removed

  • the days where people would cheer u on for beating street fighter 2 the world worrier, just gone :(

  • @xrockthe40ozx "GRaphics guns and guitars". You've summed up this generations games perfectly. I wish we had real games again.

  • @xrockthe40ozx Must you be such a goddamned doomsayer? End on a good note at least. Sheesh.

  • @xrockthe40ozx Maybe we have all gotten so much skilled in gaming or it just is that... NO GAME these days can provide a real challenge. There is one game I couldnt beat some 10 years ago, but now I did :D

  • @xrockthe40ozx I totally agree with that. Most of my friends at my MIDDLE SCHOOL(kids 12-14) hate old games and can't stay away from MW2.5. I am 12 and I just hate all of these new 1st person shooters. Rash would destroy Master Chief...

  • @xrockthe40ozx I agree, and don't forget about the achievements. EVERYTHING has achievements nowadays, since games aren't fun or creative enough to be replayable, they have to force you to play again by putting brainless "achievements"...

  • @cancerbero8 Trophies and that stuff are the new "high scores and sense of accomplishment". I don't care about trophies at all, but nowadays it seems people prefer 100 trophies per game than quality.

  • @MadButcherBlade Not only that, but achievements an trophies have you doing stuff that's common sense to do, like progress through the game, beat it 100% or doing stuff that you would had done to unlock cheats, which are unfortunately non existant these days in most games. You completed all the trophies and achievements gamer, you reward is several icons and a number increase on your profile / gamertag...

  • i loved playing this game.big smile on my face :)

  • 0:54 "I will kick your ass into outer space

You can't match my fist into your face

I will kick your ass into outer space

You can't match my fist into your face

    You can't defeat me

    You can't stop me

    from kicking your dumb ass

    You can't defeat me

    You can't stop me

    from kicking your dumb ass"

  • 0:54 - 1:25 BAD AZZ

  • multiplayer for this game rocks =)

my friend and I never stopped 'till we won this game.

  • This sounds a little like Donkey Kong Country and Sonic the Hedgehog.

  • @charger619c you mean from the beginning to around 0:32

  • @ValisHD exactly

  • @charger619c it sound like it was rejected from those games instead it was composed here in a good way

  • Man the 90's was a hell of a fuckn decade man i wish, wish, i wish i could bring that decade back so much i miss the 90's so bad!! aww why the 90's had to destroy our generation?

  • Beginning sounds like stripper music but still its amazing. gotta love that 90s games. Snes forever

  • the super nes is way.... better than the sega one

  • The 7 dislikes must have been from Justin Bieber fans

  • @Suiciduz "sniff, sniff, snot bubble" LEAVE JUSTIN ALOOOOONNEE!!!....."sniff, snort", she is a wonderful girl!!

  • @Martialart07 this comment just made my day, seriously xD

  • @Suiciduz It's funny how you mention that, Justin Bieber wasn't even born when this game out, and he'll never ever in his fucking gay life will ever know about this classic game. Cheers :) !!!

  • @Suiciduz Dude. For the love of GOD, leave the irrelevant shit at the door. I didn't come here to remember that he existed, even if it was to sandbag the little shit. This is a place for happiness. GOD DAMMIT.

  • Best music in the entire game.....

  • 52352

  • All Donkey King comparisons can be tidely explained by that fact that the two series share a composer, the esteemed David Wise. His influences, regardless of the titles themselves, remain the same. There's a strong jungle influence (the driving rhythm, sometimes primal rhyhtms) and a strong house influence (the horns, the swing patterns). There's even some bending on the organ here that veers towards the Hoover sound.

Excellent song, by the way. I <3 the video game composers from this era.

  • Sort of an arranged version of Round 2 from the original DD

  • this has to be beanland from donkey kong country....sounds way to alike.

  • @starfire1020 David wise was the composer of both games if I'm not mistaken.

  • i like that little...i dunno twinkly sound in the background at the start LOL.

  • the six people who disliked this song just couldnt stand getting there ass whooped by the babes in this stage lol :)

  • @azteca1632 lol. I always thought it was funny, as Billy or Jimmy when you hit them ,they grab the bitches by the hair and give them a good beating and some knees to the face.

  • @azteca1632 oh the wipp bitches, god there annoying, but THIS GAME RULES!

  • @azteca1632

Avoid their stinging swinging or you'll be squealing like a psycho pig!

  • @azteca1632 now its 10! haha

  • I remember I used to slide down the ledges VERY slowly just to listen to this music play. When I was playing two players with my brother, it used to drive him crazy. He had to pry the controller from my hand because this song was too awesome. David Wise really created something magnificent. If it could get an 8 year old to stop playing a game, then that means it is beyond epic.

  • @METALGEARSOL1D: Yeah this was the time when developers actually cared about video game soundtracks. Sega, Konami, and Capcom was legends at making great game soundtracks.

  • @branden1979 actually most composer got payed shit, while these days you create shitty rock music for any race game and get payed thousands.

  • @branden1979 snes had a better soundcard for sure though.

  • @toadpearaw See, I think it's a bit more relative than that. Take Yuzo Koshiro's work with the Streets of Rage system, highly dependent on textures generated by the Genesis' FM chip. But that sound would've been entirely too harsh for most of the soundtracks that the SNES would later become famous for.

Of course, who knows? For example, there's a set of Super Metroid Sega Genesis remixes out there that sound really, really interesting. Not better or worse really, just fundamentally different.

  • @METALGEARSOL1D word!

  • Lejos, uno de los juegos con mejor Soundtrack que haya visto 8)

  • this music kicks ass in the 90's and my snes has screen errors

  • @madden8021 O_o

  • The Rockest part is ( 1:10 to 1:25 )

  • @gfaafg hell yeah, the breakdown!!!!

  • Man I miss my Snes

  • @GrobycTheBionic you could probably buy a new one on amazon.com thats where I got mine

  • @GreatMalboro yeah or ebay I will man...I gotta have a nes!

how much you get it for?

  • @GrobycTheBionic I got a NES/SNES for 35 bucks

  • @GrobycTheBionic it was a 2 in 1 console

  • I HATED this level! haha. Stupid barbie things =P

  • @aznargo and thats why you pull their hair and throw them everywhere (god the game had so silly animations XD )

  • hahahahaha and if you made a game like that today it wouldnt be released for exposing kids to domestic violence probably! lol

  • @aznargo i forgot about those damn dominatrixes!

  • My favorite track of the game! <3

  • Dramatic but calm.

    David Wise is boss

  • Only in the 90s could you turn into a wrecking ball while scaling down walls.

  • 0:32 to 0:47 awesome!!

  • @antares053 Couldn't agree more

  • Game kicked ASS. I wish I could go back to the 90's. Games were more fun back then. They just don't make this stuff like they used to. May the classics NEVER DIE!

  • Nostalgia is a double edged sword. On one hand we old schoolers long for the classics to be remade/ or followed up with a new installment and on the other hand , there are those of us who simply prefer living in the past where our favorites can't be ruined by today's standards.

  • @psychowildchild Hell yeah, i'm the same way ...

    The 90's were my generation, i can't stand the 2000's !!!

  • one of the most epic arcade...battletoad is a funny game

  • amazing music track for the game, it was in my head for no reason, came here and found it!

  • 2 of my favorite games combined into 1. This needs to happen much more often.

  • Coldest song in the game.

  • Actually, I like the name "Roper".

I just hear this song and his picture (from the intro) comes into my mind: "Fits versus bullets?..."

Oh, by the way, this song rocks !

No, wait. ALL the game ROCKS !

  • David Wise was able to make the SNES do things that were seemingly impossible. Such a talented genius.

  • LOL!!! I remember those days.... Those "barbie bitches" were fun. The only women I ever got off on beating...

  • beating off?

  • That blonde in this level, with a whip as a weapon, i always called her "Barbie Bitch" for some reason.

The name suited her, especially when Billy & Jimmy grab and punch her.

    xD

It's hard to counter her attacks once she's on a whipping spree. :/

  • Yeah, whips seemed to be pretty popular among female enemies back in the 90's. I'm pretty sure Streets of Rage had blonde whip chicks in it, too.

I used to love that hair slam that the toads used on them. As a kid, I gave that move a name, The FHH

    (Froggie Hair Hammer) lol

  • @derekcwly *nods* Yep, those whip chicks were a pain :P

  • Oh hell yeah.

  • @JenniferReturn Perhaps because Doug Walker called the whip girl on the Double Dragon Movie "Dominatrix Barbie"?

And I love how the toads would grab them by their hair and slam them on the ground.

  • I loved it when I grabed there hair and punched them in the stomach with the one of the double dragons. Lots of laughs with this game. lol

  • @JenniferReturn Her name is Linda Lash. The Boss in the end of this level is named Slick Willy, but he's called Roper due to Rare being idiots.

  • @JenniferReturn

Her proper name is Linda Lash, but yeah, that whip hurts! I guess Billy and Jimmy felt the need to take out the frustrations on her for Burnov using that attack on them in previous games.

  • I remember when i played this game out i Immediately started over again. Hahahahah Could never get Bored of it.. played it out like 14times :D greaattt times Still have the game though xD

  • I have the Gameboy version of this game. apart from the obvious, that and the SNES version don't have that many differences. Furthest I've been is stage 5... that would be two stages forward from the one this music is from. Getting that far was HARD.

  • Alas, this game takes me back to a time where it was about actually getting your ass kicked by a game. Not like the free rides you get in games of today. I recall only beating this game 2 times without the help of Game Genie out of the 1000s of hours I spent getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter. Awesome upload.

  • The hardest game I've played recently was...

Geez, I can't even remember. It seems only Konami is keeping the true spirit of challenging games alive with Contra. :/

  • @Pseudopathaso AMEN BRUTHA!

  • i agree with u on that, but its just that people want more out of games in this day and age. people figure that games nowadays have to overexceed games of then, by making it fun for anyone to play, no matter their skill level or how much time they put into it

  • A VERY valid point. By making games "more accessible" developers can cater a game to a wider audience, and hence make money off of it more then a game that caters to a specific type of gamer. My issue really is that developers are forgetting the fact that there ARE still "Hardcore Gamers" out there. People misunderstand the term, Hardcore doesn't mean you play games 24/7, it means you play them for challenge, and to gain skill at them. But with easier games, there's less to learn.

  • i understand what ur saying, and i do agree. However, there are still games out there for hardcore gamers, such as Ninja Gaiden which is ridiculously tough. Plus not everyone can just pick up a shooting game and be good at it. For some people, it takes commitment to pull off those headshots quickly.

  • Very true. They do still make games that kick your teeth down your throat, just not at the regularity they used to in past console generations. And I can attest to the headshot thing. After you get skill at it, there's no more gratifying at feeling then reeling of 3 headshots in a row...lol.

  • @kaoz666 lol especially on this level with those fucking blonde chicks with the whips

  • nah the only 'hard' board to me was that damn space pod board lol

    Damn UFO's!!!

  • That's the furthest level I could get playing it as a kid back in the day. So I never beat the game, wish I still had my snes to try it now that I'm an adult :(

  • amen. the only TIP i can give is life stock. get all the 5000 bonuses, big boot kick all foes, do EVERYTHING that nets you the HIGHEST point score, and stock stock STOCK lives. i usually get maybe 15 lives by the end of lvl 3? by the time im on the missle, i'd have like 7 left. dude, i feel yer pain lol

  • @LamonicBomb THERE THE BANE OF MY EXISTANCE

  • @ValisHD like the laaaast white one???! THAT FUCKERS ON SPACE-CRACK I SWEAR!!!!

  • i beat this game and to me the stages that were a bitch to beat were stage 3 and 4 all others were easy.

  • This game has got to be one of the hardest games I have ever played...it frustrated me as a kid and I couldn't make it past level 3 no matter HOW hard I tried. But that's okay, this song made up for it, I love it.

  • goodold times

  • The music of this stage owns all the rest.

  • no offense but think the music from stage six is so much better

  • I used to play this game as a child, and I think that I never even got to stage six :-P Even though I would listen to it now, It's not the same if I never played the game with that track at the background. But you got me curious, I'll check it out anyway!

  • lol i no that feeling, stage 4 is a bitch

  • gmmh i cant find the nes version of it

  • "Fists versus bullets? I'm going to use your butts as target practice!" - Roper (Stage 3 boss)

  • Hm, "(Stage 3 boss)" was too much info. It ruins the comment for real fans of the game.

  • GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!! THANKS for upload, those back memories rmembersme hours of fun (and frustration) ;-)

  • Arnold theme

  • ahh the fucken 90's. golden age for video game music.

  • YOU DAMNN RIGHT!!!!

    90'S RULE!!!!

  • and thats all the speech you need for a say on 90's vg music.. 90's was the best.

  • @agetro82 YES SIR!!!! CAN'T BEAT IT!!

  • my favorite snes game of all time and it has the best and most badass music in a game to this day. snes ftw!!

  • a very heroic theme!

  • Well comparing the Genesis and the snes version I'm going to side with Snes. The Genesis version sounds too choppy and distant, while the snes version is smoother and fluent.

  • lol i just herd the genesis version and wow...compare to this one SNES wins(no offense),but im not sure why SEGA fanboys(not saying all fans)argue about every game that SNES and SEGA has saying that SEGA is better, geez i know they like sega and all but cmon...can't they compare the good and bad thing on both?,the main thing i say SNES was better than SEGA was the sound(same with NES and SEGA)

  • Ya gotta remember each kid grew up with either side console, it was rare for kids of average families to have more than 1 generation console. So either they grew up with sega or nintendo during that time. And with that, comes the attachment of memories and fondness, adding to its 'fun' value, making it seem better than the other. Basic psychology.

  • This theme has an Awesome bassline!!!

  • el tio rex visitando a su primo dragon jaja

  • Yes, I agree!

  • I"m sorry Sega fans, but I just don't see anyway in heck that the Sega version is better

  • There exists no Battletoads game that isn't a cripplingly difficult challenge. also every Battletoads games Have amazing music except for the Amiga port.

  • this level is fukkin hard i had this game wen i was 7 now im 17 still kant pass it but i kan make it to the boss now n this lv lol

  • when i was like 9 playing this level i got my a** beat i mean beat i never passed it but i still loved the game

  • I love this song!

  • You're tone deaf. That's all I can really say.

  • The Nintendo version is way way way BETTER!!! Because it's the original! And the graphics on Ninte
