This is wonderful but I think the Soviets had better upper body carriage and that makes a huge different in the presentation of a compulsory routine focused primarily dance and presentation.
@TuesdayPillow I agree. the soviets were particularly wonderful about posture through the shoulders, and held their heads very proudly. shaposhnikova's compulsory routine from this competition is lovely. Though Nadia's is incredibly wonderful as well. though perhaps she trades a little of that balletic quality for additional athleticism? which i don't have a problem with at all considering this is a sporting event....

no offense but in my opinion Mukhina's was better they have it from 79 seeing as to how she never made it to the 1980 Olympics.
