Love it! Just a pity that tubular bell stop is all a good quarter-tone flat! I really must get to see and hear (and, who knows, maybe one day even play) this magical instrument.
Es tan grandioso oirlo y tan espectacular.....hace reflexionar.....pensar en lo hermoso de todo lo que involucra...que la verdad no encuentro las palabras exactas para explicarlo.......BELLISIMO
I would love to explore the organ. I think it is the most great instruments we got, and anything can be played on them. Switch on the air and hit the keys :)
@silverstartrucker am about to post it on my facebook page as well...hopefully it'll touch at least one of my friends. i'm not a christian, but this music is just beautiful and music has no religion. I've heard this organ live...it is quite the experience! Philly has a jewel in Center City.
@himanv - I am not on your facebook friends list so will not be able to like and put a comment under it...Arthur J Dale...Nottingham...on my photo I am wearinhg a Santa Claus outfit. I went out wearing it yesterday and all the sweet little children were saying " Look mummy, Santa :-)
@kentwesterly - I could name two on Youtube but better not. They follow Cameron Carpenter round criticising his videos. They are supposed to be organists but you will find nothing on Youtube by them. They like to criticise and click dislike but do not want to be criticised themselves...sad b-----d's

I'm sorry for giving the wrong information to technocrash09. Thanks for reminding me silverstartrucker !!! And thanks for posting this beautiful improvisation.
So beautiful and moving. Attended VF recitals many times and my favourite LP's of his are "The Christmas Album" and "Into the classics". Both recorded at Riverside NYC.
Thank you! I will always have fond memories from my childhood of JohnWanamaker and their Christmas traditions. I sincerely hope that Macy's carry on this Philadelphia treasure.
I hear this all the time but this takes it to another level as for the wide sound and seems to slowly build to fill the space and the bells sound like its a grand hall even though its just a huge organ in a large department store, if anything ever happened to the place or damage to the organ it would be a huge loss to the music community, its the worlds second biggest organ as for the pipe amount, and played everyday unlike some of the smaller ones in concert halls played every so often.
The complexity of the tones is absolutely incredible, and is made all the more astounding by the fact that it is all being created by a single person playing a single instrument, without any sort of electronic or digital aid.
I have this CD and let me say it is just an amazing CD. I am so glad I purchased it. The Wanamaker sounds just beautiful. I have also had the pleasure of hearing this piece played live on the Wanamaker with the Philadelphia Brass and let me say it sounds even better live. The beautiful sounds of the Wanamaker just make you feel good when you are standing there in the Grand Court.

It's fascinatring looking at organ's insides. Such a beautiful thing, and we (the audience) never get to see it. Except here.
Thanks so much.

Good organ sound. Inadequate, one dimensional musical arrangement. The bells should have been left out of the playing. They do not add anything.
