Yeah I have more respect for autotuners than I do pitchcorrecters. Pitch correction is someone going in post and fixing your voice, basically repairing everything, making some singers sounding completely different and hiding it. Autotune is up front saying, this is an effect on my voice, also if you cant hit a certain high note, pitch correction can change that, autotune cant

@fattasticsteve as a studio engineer and producer, you couldnt be more wrong, its the exact opposite...and autotune is just a plugin that changes everything to B flat to get that effect...melodyne is a real program that real studios use...excluding hip hop studios of course

T-pain obviously uses it, the effect is there and you can tell, they can still almost hit every note they try to hit, yes it molds to a scale but if you cant get anywhere near a certain note, than you cant get there. Where as pitch correction is done in post, hides mistakes and does many other mistake covering effects. Like I said, at least Autotune is upfront.
