  • I might leave Unity for CryEngine..... Only thing is the asset pipeline Unit has to offer.... Especially Blender support

  • Minecraft has the best graphics!

  • i can see now why crysis has so amazing graphics

  • WW2 FPS "Enemy front" will run on CE3.

  • Could anyone please tell me wich games have this engine or wich of the upcoming games are going to have it ???

  • I don't mind the comparison of CryEngine and Frostbite. It's just that I like Crysis and Battlefield. :)

  • lol none of this was actualy put into Crysis 2.

  • it could have been so mutch better if it wasnt console ported

  • integrated voxels =awesome :D

  • GRAFON

  • I can't wait for the next Game to come out for 360 that uses this Engine that Isn't Crysis 2!!!

  • Dear notch, could you use this...

  • Did you know that GTA V will run on CryEngine 3?

  • @algirdas181218 lol it wont, it will be the euphoria engine, didnt you see the traler ??

  • @algirdas181218 What a lie. Only about 20 companies so far have permission to publish a game made in CryENGINE 3, and Rockstar is not one of them.

  • I hope CryTek will make the next game for PC only... The original Crysis could look better then Crysis 2 with mods, but the only bad thing about it is the DirectX 9.

  • How are computers getting better graphics cards than the EARTH?

  • @wemakepies agree, mather nature FTW -- but not all scenes are readily available on your desktop so people need some simulated/imagined graphs to get content

  • @wemakepies They aren't getting more realistic graphics cards than the earth. They are simply better looking.

  • skyrim + cry engine 3 = epic win + never leave the house!

  • @eightypuff01 crysis 2 is with cry engine 3 idiot

  • @burziq100 yes I am..-_-

  • Good god, stop showing me 360 and PS3 renderings, I WANT TO SEE THE MAXIMUM PC GRADE RENDERS

  • I have Crysis 2, Battlefield 3 and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. LIFE IS AWESOME!

  • The best game for this engine is coming out this spring, it's Halo galaxy of Combat. It's a fan made game, but all the current trailers for it are in the pre alpha stage'

  • city-interactive are making a game with fully destructible maps

    city-interactive(dot)com

  • if bf3 had this engine it would be awesome :)

  • O_O

My lord... this is.... scary to think people can make games like this.... isn't this engine available to public for free or something? Or was that Cry Engine 2/1?

  • @SUICIDALthe1ST Yes, the engine has a free version. Just Google it.

  • How much does it cost to get a version of cryengine3 ( for myself)

  • @SuperErogon they have a free sdk non developer version for download and use here mycryengine(dot)com

  • @LINK1733 just replace the (dot) with an actual .

  • I used to play Cryengine3, then my computer exploded.

  • wait you can get this shit on concoles?

  • @DanteFearless666 this is what most people think the PS4 will come with.

  • sweet baby jesus with a flamethrower.......

  • i bet my life half of interactivity scenes are scripted

  • frostbite 2 = cryegine 2

    now stop trollin

  • what EA needs to do is get Crytek and Dice to make a game together combining Cryengine and Frostbite

  • @CommunistHater666 fuck dice and there engine, its all bout CE 3

  • @CommunistHater666 Frosbite is a shame to Cryengine, What they should really make to exploit the full capability of Cryengine 3 is to make a PC exclusive game.

  • @drakenlorde The problem with PC exclusive games are piracy.

  • @CommunistHater666 Not really. Crysis was only PC and they made a LOT of money. Plus, the most illegaly downloaded games are multiplatform games.

  • There should be a Engine with the grafic of CryEngine 3 and the destrutction of Frostbite 2... EPIC!!

  • @Iboshido No, Cryengine use to have realtime physics simulation using the physx from nvidia, much above shity scripted animated destructions of frostbite 2.

  • @Iboshido CryENGINE 3 already has the power of destruction. FB2 uses mostly scripted destruction anyway, so it's possible in CE3. It's just CryTEK never really showed use, or attempted to show the possibility of destruction. But, it's totally possible. Even in CE2, it was possible but CryTEK didn't try to implement a system into Crysis 1.

I hate it when people judge the game engine by the GAME. :)

  • @PhysicsTowerTeam By what exactly should we judge the engine ? By tech demos?

  • @lasjd11 By what an engine actually is. A tool.

Judge how the engine works, the development side, efficiency, how it handles assets, terrain, render times (if it has render times), what programs it supports (COMPATIBILITY, VERY important to some people.), how it handle's the graphics, models, and lighting, 'multi-platform tools', '3-D support'.

(CE3 strengths: Flowgraphs, Realtime, WYSIWYG, etc.)

To judge graphics, go look at work by someone who is aiming for graphics, (Artists).

    :)

  • @PhysicsTowerTeam what do you mean by scripted like the destruction has to happen to a structure at a certain time and the player has no say? If so fb2 is not scripted destruction in bf3 from what i kno of so far (ok maybe at certain points in campaign) because you can destroy most structures at will. i dont know if need for speed the run and command and conquer generals 2 has scripted destruction but im 100% sure bf3 has at will destruction (of course because i have it)

  • @Voldermort365 No no no. Scripted means it's not calculated in real time. When you destroy a building, the CPU/GPU doesn't calculate where parts would travel. It's all pre-calculated. (When player causes X amount of damage, house pieces go this way, follow exactly this path, exactly at this speed). In real time, the physics are calculated according to it's environment (such as where the damage is hit, how it would fall, etc.).

  • @Voldermort365 So, no matter how you hit it, it would always fall according to one or a few scripted events. This also allows for better performance (since all the computer has to do is move pieces from one place to another and add particles).

It may look better (since it's scripted, and they have programs/computers dedicated to make those look as real and good as possible), but having it in real time is slightly more impressive and realistic.

  • @PhysicsTowerTeam The devs obviously did what they wanted to with their engine. They chose to limit the engine, so you can't judge it as what it COULD'VE been. Judge it for what it is, which is the game ¬¬

  • @SuperFunnyman001 Yes, for the GAME.You know their are people who are dedicated, and work on the engines themselves for a living (CE2 and CE3). They create work that looks graphically better as well. When you create 'art', you don't have to worry about game play or performance issues. Trust me there is a difference :)

  • @PhysicsTowerTeam Whats your point? Unless you're just an idiot trying to start an argument over something when you obviously don't understand the difference between a game and it's engine.

  • @SuperFunnyman001 I'm just trying to say it doesn't really matter what the engine is. They are all basically the same. It comes down to the developer to decide what to do with it. If they are aiming for graphics/art, simulation, game play, etc.

What they do is obviously limited to the developer abilities. The Engine is just there to help, and the each engine provides features functions that may help the developer in certain ways, thus them choosing the engine that benefits them most. :)

  • @PhysicsTowerTeam What has that got to do with anything? You said first you hate it when people judge engines by the games running that engine, which makes no sense as an engine which supports some basic level of destruction (like CryEngine 2 and 3) wouldn't need that feature for a game like Crysis, which is just run and gun with a little strategy needed for dumb AI.

  • @SuperFunnyman001 I'm sure I understand you clearly. An engine is a 3-D tool, to create things like games and simulation. They are all basically the same. What differs between them is the features and functions they offer. (i.e. CE3 has Sandbox and Flowgraphs, but a horrible asset pipeline system, while Source has an excellent asset pipeline system, is matured, by outdated).

  • @SuperFunnyman001 People are biased when understanding the engine. They think if a game running the engine has destruction/good graphics, they will usually relate destruction/good graphics to the engine, and think the engine dominates in that area.

In reality, all engines are the same. It depends on the developer on what they do with the engine. If they want to create destruction, dynamic water, or anything else, it can be done with any engine, even if it's natively supported or not.

  • @SuperFunnyman001 Developers never choose engines by graphics, it's games, etc. They choose them by the tools offered by the engine to help create what ever they want (such as games). Each engine is different in this area, and depending on how and what they want to make, it differs.

An engine should really be judged from the development side, where things really matter.

Also, sorry for the tripple posts :P

  • @PhysicsTowerTeam I don't know why you'll telling me this, cause I know it >.< But devs choose engines by the gameplay mechanics available to the engine, which is why SDKs like UDK and Source are becomming more and more popular.

If anything can be rendered in any engine, are you telling me someone could create Far Cry 3 visuals on the old Doom engine? No.

  • @SuperFunnyman001 Game play mechanics are also based on the developer. They can code them. You don't need a specific engine. Again, this is based on the developer.

Doom Engine: It isn't technically a 3-D engine. But if someone could be nifty, they could create Far Cry 3 Environments, if they modify the code and put in high res textures. Also, graphics shouldn't be a priority--development and costs are.

Also, I mean't "I don't think I understand you clearly". I forgot to put that in.

  • @PhysicsTowerTeam because crysis realtime super physics destruction on ultra = super lag if you don't have a 3000 rig....

  • @dragonxanimation That's why I said 'Scripted' ;)

Check on the CryDEV Wiki. Exact simple instructions for lag-free scripted physics.

  • @Iboshido With the .....of UDK. Nothing comes to mind actually. The easy level editing?

  • @Iboshido ps the endines doen't make the graphics.. they make the models you make look better because of physics and different things. It makes the models seem real. You can make UDK look good too.. but it doesn't feel the same as Cry or Frostbite

  • @Iboshido Nah, just Frostbite 2. It's the first engine with quasi-realtime radiosity.

  • @Iboshido Combine Cryengine 3's graphics, Source's physics, Frostbite's destruction and The powder toy's Chemistry, what do you get? life. in videogame mode.

  • @Iboshido Frostbite 2's destruction isn't that huge imo. CryEngine has a better destruction system I believe... But yeah BF3 is the shit :P

  • @Iboshido Note: 1:10

  • @Iboshido FrostBite 2 is Not Good its a Stupid Rubbish!

  • @NSaifJason lol cod fanboy in da house

  • @Iboshido You dont have to be CoD fanboy to realize that frostbite 2 is rubbish. Ye its awesome but its brand new and got tons of bugs in, so I actually prefer to play CoD with stupid but stable engine insted BF3 with cool but bugged engine. Its fucking up the game.

  • @ColdBloodedMonsters let me gues u only played the beta, dont you? Try bf3 now... no grafic bugs anymore

  • 2009? We don't even have graphics like these here in 2015, all the console's faults.

  • Cryengine 3 uses the Frosbite 2 engine as a mop.

  • stop complaining about bad graphics for pc...you have your sandbox editor and make your own maps and use all the potentials of cryengine...don't mind other trolls.. IMO Cryengine 3 has the best SSAO and best render engine there is. credits go to Vladimir Kajalin and crytek developers

  • MW4 To be Dead now!!

  • It's quite scary. When you look at real life it looks werid but when looking at game like Cyrsis you look at something much more detailed and better. While still using your eyes. .. 0_0.. kinda of weird.

  • I want to kill myself because now I think i am in a video game within a video game by watching this. Am I still dreaming?

  • @RumbleM0NKEY yes you are, its called videogameception

  • mw4 with cryengine 3 now!

  • mw4 with cryengine 4 now!

  • Video Games are just a few generations away of perfectly emulating the vision of the real world.

  • a friend of mine burned out his xbox on C2. not impressed. i burned out a $2500 custom built monster of a computer on crysis(1). im (very) upset, yet still impressed that the '07 game has better... well, everything. but this. hell ill need rehab because i will get confused on what is reality....

  • GTA V

  • Wow, Crysis 2 is garbage next to this, and all because it was made for consoles.

  • On PC it will look even better!

  • Beautiful as this is, I can't get excited until I hear about a really great immersive game that's going to use it. I'd love to play a plot-driven RPG with this much eye candy, not a mindless shooter.

  • @tomsega I agree. Why is it that shooters have to have all of the good graphics? I find them so boring

  • Crysis 2 makes the engine look like a waste, and runs like shit on consoles.. Crysis is still one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen, Frostbite 2 destruction side kinda sucks, the lightning of the engine is superb though.

  • @showrider99 frostibite lightning is nowhere close to cryengines

  • Comment removed

  • thats cod Run and gun Kideeooos

  • Cry Engine = Crytek Engine, is Left 4 Dead a Crytek game ? No.

  • but not In real game ...

  • Frostbite 2 Owns This shit

  • @TransDrive50 Fuck frostbite, its an piece of shit, crytek 3 is way better than frostbite 2

  • @BRBSHUTUPNOOB HAHA LLOL Frostbite 2 is the best engine so far ever seen BF3

  • @TransDrive50 i love bf3 too, but if they mixed FB2 and crytek it would be the best engine ever

  • which games use this?

  • @SuperSupermanX1999 crysis 2 uses cryengine 3

  • Crytek, why did you make consoles the lead platform? We could have gotten an overall better game, since you insist that the engine has real-time multiplatform editing. But no, you put all of your resources to make console quality textures and levels. Sorry, but your "High-Res" texture pack sucks. I like MaLDo's HD Mod better, since it is a true high-resolution texture pack.

  • imagine if minecraft operated on this

  • CHECK!!! test on low-end laptop watch?v=wAcgTouJqGs

  • Guys Left 4 dead 3 is going to use this engine !

  • @abduboy trololol

  • @Sukkasanteri Dude I am not trolling -.- Go google for it ....

  • @abduboy l4d series for valves own and theyr using always .. ALWAYSE their own game engine. dont believe everything u read in internet.

  • Cryengine 3 and Frostbite 2 are the two best engines.

  • @Prullenbak9 i would have to say 3 best engines as UDK is such a user freindly platform! its so easy to create stunning enviroments and you can download from their website without even an account!

  • they are gonna use cryeninge3 on androids 2 soon

  • Cool. But too expensive for me..

  • Looks like life needs to update to CryEngine 3

  • Wow...

  • unfortunately technology only gets better with war : /

  • @valmanzar16 What on earth do you mean by that..? What does war have to do with the CryEngine? How would a war advance video game tech?

  • @Unspollidquill lol, i mean that the games that show out the full power of the engine are mostly shooters. crysis, battlefield 3, gears of war, etc.

  • @valmanzar16 Ah I see! :P Well its a concept that sells a lot, maybe that's why... Maybe its the reason gamers want simple goals, ie kill all the bad guys, but yeah its a shame we don't have more variety in video games, lets hope it will get better tho. :)

  • @Unspollidquill thanks for understanding :)

  • unfortunately this is just a tech demo and not the real crysis 2

  • Crap, it's gonna be waaay too hard to make a map on Timesplitters 4 if it's gonna run this engine...

  • I liked CryEngine 2 better

  • Some day we'll look out the window and say, "*laughs* my computer has better graphics!" xD

  • @Sgtbobtwo then that means we will have horrible vision.

  • @Nuclearkiwi2 true true!

  • Frostbite 2 pwns this

  • FAKE !! anyone hold an camera out of an helicopter ... ^^

  • i wish it were in gta 5

  • I hate how much blur this engine and game haves

  • I hate it when the top comment is a reply (sigh)

    (clicks View all comments)

    1 hour later......

    Still nothing....

    (sigh)

  • @killerbumble View all comments (sigh) + Ctrl F (sigh) = WIn (sigh)

  • yeah ok i see the engine..now make timesplitters 4 with it god dammit!

  • The face is amazing !!!

  • Cry engine 3 looks fucking amazing crysis 2 for consoles...

  • @pijef Sub-hd, pop-in and constant framedrops...

  • polygones?

  • i find ti difficult that any1 would have the nerves to put these ppl down, and they gave us the cry engine 2 for free, there is no flippen reason any1 should be complaining.

  • I love this program but its driving me crazy I can't figure out how to use one of my custom made character models as the player! :(

  • Too bad my computer is such a failure. I'd like to use it in connection with Blender, but it's impossible on single cored PC with GPU from 2001 ...

  • @Hiddenus1 part time jobs :)

  • @kaiserdragon33 yeah... I do such thing, but even one simple render in HD resolution takes 5 hours so...

    And I don't have 3.0 Pixel Shader :P

But why I tell you something, about what you don't care? :D

  • @Hiddenus1 i meant working a part time job so at least you can buy a new rig sooner :D and i care cuz i've cried for a new computer for 5 years untill i bought mine with my own money ^^

  • New Pirates of the Caribbean game would look beautiful on this engine!

    What do you think?

  • The graphics were so high my laptop started foaming at the sides.

  • But the engine is not free like the Unreal Engine 3

  • @Dmt4030 Is now. You can download the free SDK but like the Unreal Engine 3 you have to pay for commercial use.

  • @Dmt4030 Yes it is... The is an free SDK for cryengine

  • what is that game at 0;35?

  • nice but unlike unity you cannot actually make alot of money without anyone interfering. I have made over £200 just from a few character models

  • finished him 8D

  • TXH FOR FREE CE3! I'm very young programist, and CE3 can help me in my school!

    I love you Crytek! <3

  • who noticed that in every Machinima upload there is always an annotation that comes for a split second saying "FINISH HIM!!"

  • I want a gun that shoots lights.

  • cry engine is one of the best engine out there..~

  • CryEngine Nailed us pretty hard. They say there would be an sandbox on Ps3 and XBOX, but once the day i got it i wasnt so excited anymore because alot of what they sed like destroyable environment wasnt true, The multiplayer sucked also. but The story was very VERY nice!

  • Too bad most of this footage wasnt added into the game, i heard before the game was released that [1:06] alleyway in that china town would be in the game.

  • wow it can do all that, but will it blend?

  • Fuck you consoles!

  • Great work guys ar..............

  • The source sdk is now free, just google it. The only restriction being that you can't publish your creation commercially.

  • @GameplayFlicks There is a independent game commercial license where they take 20% of revenue from the start.

  • very nice but can it render a nuclear explosion with no frame rate suppression

  • I see that there is no top comment so

    Pickle

  • @DestroyerBWH Birthday Nugget

  • @DestroyerBWH shut the f*** up.

  • MAXIMUM GAME + MAXIMUM GFX = CRYTEK

  • @solimaniv CRYTEK.......Maximum.........GAME

  • @EWTRgaming AGREED

  • Wait so how does it change the graphics from PC to consoles. This stuff makes my brain wanna explode.

  • mann if only i had that editing program..

  • CRYTEK = GERMAN COMPANY

  • @UnknownWebUser You know those Germans make good stuff.
