me and my mate took a dingy to a small islnd for 4 days and lived out of it off the beach for kicks, we had water, fishing gear, snorkling gear, emergancy beacon if needed and flint sticks, it was truely a memeorable expiecnce id do it again in a flash

Knowledge, and as you say, and wisdom, if you can get it, are the key to survival. But a lot of survival/ primitive techniques are helped by physical strenght and fittness, When i do a bit of back yard bushcraft i find out how unfit i am. And you would be surprised RM is an active, robust guy, have you seen him winning that mongolian wrestling match?

@raysteer The best way to build this up quickly is to go for a wander through the mountains at high altitude. I found that after only 4 days walking the Choro trail in Bolivia, I was pretty much twice as fit as when I started. I just wish I could afford to go back now!
