(Marco)

i know, i said it to be funny. This video is pretty pretentious if you ask me. There are people out there that actually put a lot of painstaking time and effort into movie making. I'm not saying this guy doesn't do anything good, but i can't consider this art or engaging in any way
That's Warhol's aesthetic, though. He was very deliberate about it. It's a critical exploration of the concepts of fame and high art. I wouldn't quite call his work "satire," but it's certainly very tongue in cheek.
@brett84c What does the fact that there are talentless nobodies labouring away silently have to do with anything at all? If you support the concept of freedom, you would have no problem with the fact that Warhol has fans, even if you don't personally like him.
@brett84c ya, this guy has fans, i'm sure, i just personally think this is a waste of time and is not artistic in any way... i mean, a gay dude eating a banana? wow, my life is changed. Sorry but i need something more stimulating
I thought this was a woman before I read the intro about this film. I saw this seveal days ago on an Andy Walhor exhibit and watched it with amuzement for about 5 min, until at last I realised that it actually meant to be very erotic... *_*
Still around somewhere. He first used the name Mario Montez in Jack Smith's Flaming Creatures (1963)and then Normal Love (see my page for Mario in a clip called Mermaid from Normal Love). btw, Warhol stole the term "superstar" that he used for all his players from Jack Smith, pioneer of underground cinema and became known as performance art.
@SaintTidewolfe Still alive and living in Florida. Has made the occasional appearance recently thanks to German curator Marc Siegel, who's working on a book about Montez.
