‘Hello. Not back yet?’ (1st egg cracked and dropped)

‘Hello. Well . . .’ (2nd egg is dropped in)

‘Listen . . . I’m here. I won’t move. Good-bye. Call me back.’ (The eggs are frying. The pan is whisked away. )

‘Well, bye then.’ (The blank burner stares out at us.)
