The power comes from shifting the waist in conjunction with the rest of the body. Think of it in three parts, the torso, the head and the legs (hips included). They all move in different directions separately, but altogether at the same time. In this one the guy's legs are a little up and down, but he keeps pretty consistent. Hands are good, although he's very stiff and doesn't use his waist too much. Good form though.
Basically his body is constantly rising and falling...should keep his head level in most cases, except when in crane.Hope this explains what I'm talking about.
Look, I don't mean to talk smack, and apologize for not explaining myself...when I was training with the longfist guys in Taiwan, the main focus is the fluidity of the straight sword and making the end of the blade glide consistently straight. Check out stevenjr518...the videos are from the guys I trained with in Taiwan. Body moves, blade moves...power comes from the waist.
what do you mean "no control, bad footwork"? His power comes from the legs and he's rather precise. Check other San Cai Jian videos. I'm open to criticism, it's just that I don't understand your comment.
maybe. But since he's using a sword it's a bit okay to get more range by leaning a bit. Some long fist practionners, such as Zhou Baofu (Porf Jou), lean more than that.

Footwork; His cat stances, back heel comes up
Horse stances are constantly different height.
Unicorn stances (cross-legged) vary in height.

yep. Now I see. Yet I've always been told that in long fist power comes from legs, directed by waist and expressed in hands.
Check the spear video (er lu qiang) with the same man, I'd also like your opinion.
