  • Just know if you buy this that if the game cartridge reads 6 to 9 years

it should really read 3 to 5 years. My 7 year old found them in her own words to be to " to babyish " I would say she is an average 7 year old child. Games and pad 200 dollars wasted. Not for kids over 5.

Also customer is worse than a joke.

  • I could tell you right now, that the LeapPad is not worth buying. For couple of dollars more I brought my son a real tablet.Common sense with the wi-fi we download games for him for free instead of paying $20 dollar for each game.Another bad thing about the LeapPad is that batteries do not last, you cant travel with it using batteries bc they waiste real, real fast.

  • Thank you for the prompt reply...I am asking fmamily in USA to buy it and send it for me here, hence the question if one can download games from online. We are in Serbia and it's not available here, and I don't think ever will be. My daughter speaks english and Serbian...does Leapfrog have serbian language?

    thank you once again.

  • Can one downlad/purchase games on the internet or do you "PHUSICALLY" have to buy the games instore?. Great review and thank you...TIP; THE TOILET ROLLS MAKE GREAT TELESCOPES...ASK MY DAUGHTER!!!!

  • @mybebaatjie hi there, you can download games from the LeapFrog online store its very simple to use, or you can purchase actual cartridge games such as the games for the leapster which all work with the LeapPad too.

  • does the leap pad explorer teach you to read?

this question may be really strange, im not good with electronics

  • @rachanae1 there are alot of educational games and apps on the leappad, also the ebook which are to help children learn to read

  • This is a result of maybe 1 game app and 100 education apps but the kid will pic the one where u don't gotta think!

  • omgee.. his accent is sooo adorable!

  • Wow, I could be amused with one of these for hours and I'm 65. Great review Mum and son. :-)

  • The Leapfrog LeapPad is so interesting and the boy is so cute

  • @aztecprincezz89 thank you :)

  • Hi

I have been think buy one of this to my son 3 years and 6 months old. But I'm not sure if I can make video with this. My son is autistic and I would like to make home video to help him to speak. Please let me know if I can make video e how long the video make it. thanks. dora

  • @oniromancia hi there you can make videos with this, with built in microphone so there is sound too :)

  • Mikey rules! Great review from a kids point of view (at the end of day it's for them, although I'm rather looking forward to having a play). Cool arm bands - my son is still at the shouting through loo roll phase...err, it is a phase, right?

  • @AnnaSofieM thank you for saying, My boys love toilet paper rolls for all sorts of things.!!

  • what are the learning levels from low to high dont understand what the first level should be for my 4 year old daughter i dont get the F ? thanks

  • Looks great but the apps are expensive and just about everywhere i have checked today 19-10-20011 is out of stock Grrrrrr. Play.com have them for in stock for £134.99 ( yep you read right !!!) for a device with a RRP of £80 . At least dick turpin had the common courtesy to wear a mask !.

  • @niceblokedave1 oh dear! Toys R us had them in for £72.99 but yes they are out of stock at the moment hopefully they will get more in very soon

  • Thanks for posting, really liked seeing this from a child's point of view. Am thinking of getting one for my daughter for Christmas, she's three and a bit but she's a pro on iPhones/ iPads etc so think she'll get on with this easily and I will get my tech gadgets back!!

  • great review, and my little girl dose the same thing with toilet rolls lol

  • I would like to get this for my four year old

  • hey i like the fact that this video is from childs perspective cus lets face it no matter how hard we try they see things different to us. wat may look brillent to us is boring to them n vis versa. hense the reason u can end up wi so many neglected toys. as u as parent thought they wud love.

  • (1) Parents should do the review and ask their children for their opinions on the product if the child is as young as yours.

    (2) Your video is very annoying to watch because you never hold the camera still. I'm not one who is prone to motion sickness but I couldn't watch more than 30 seconds of your "Camera Chaos"!!!

  • @BigSlickSerpents thanks for the comments will have to get a tripod! :) Also I did a full review myself, this was just to show that young children can manage the leappad themselves.

  • @BigSlickSerpents As stated by Bunnykinssmile it isn't so much about us adults it's about the childs point of view of the product and its useablity. If I say how wonderful it is but the child cannot use it then the use it is intended for is not being accurately shown.

  • @BoxerDogTales I really appreciate you for making this video. This vid, along with your full review, helped me in deciding to get the the LeapPad for my son. We got it today and I know that he's gonna do really well with it. Thanks :)

  • @BoxerDogTales:

Did you even *Read* what I said?!?

The Parent should do the review (This means you talking to the camera in a non-chaotic, non-camera-shaking manner about what you like and your observations) and ALSO ask the "Child / Children for their opinions on the product. I believe this would more than cover the "Child's point of view" in your so-called review and actually make it a decent video with some value to other people / consumers.

I was providing you with 2 valid points!!

  • @BigSlickSerpents then you probably should just not watch and keep your negative comments to yourself. She is showing how easy it is for the 4 year old to navigate and do it in his own....who cares if she is not a professional videographer? Half of the videos on youtube are WAY worse.

  • @Amarey269 thank you for saying :)

  • is that android ?

    LOL

  • I love the kid's toilet paper roll bracelets.

  • @tlgwat :D my boys seem to think toilet rolls make great armour!

  • @BoxerDogTales lol... love it!

  • @BoxerDogTales thought it was only my boy who wore toilet rolls on his wrists - so funny to see its the fashion

  • Like the video, alot of camera movement going on, try getting a tripod!!!!

My 3yr old has the leapster explorer. The games from there are suppose to work on this new pad and same otherway round. His birthday is in oct so hopefully if there's not anything newer out i will be purchasing this pad.

  • Are all of the games "learning" based? My son loves the ipdad with all of the "fun" games on there but he is not quite advanced enough to identify numbers and letters. I'm all for the learning part but if he cannot do it, I'm wondering if there are any fun games on there so its not a complete waste of money

  • @hberry182002 There are games with more subtle educational components, such as matching shapes. There are also games based only on making music or drawing.

You could also enjoy one of the more challenging games by introducing your child to numbers and letters.

  • still a great deal for a learning child. i recommend it for anyone with a child 3 and up

  • my only gripe is that they didn't put "a and b" buttons on it like the leapster. it wouldn't have been that hard and then the leapster games wouldn't have to use the on screen buttons wich are not that great. also the touch sensitivity is not that great coming from the fact that its a single touch "resistive" input instead of capacitive( if she is touching the screen with her unused hand by mistake then it disables input from the pen)

  • my daughter is 2 and a half and she loves it although its a bit advanced for her. she still manages to get a good level of entertainment and learning. especially when it comes to the interactive books

  • 4 aa batteries i believe

  • what kind of battery does it use?

  • @akcl828 It is also possible to charge it.

  • cool. i will get one!
