    1-Buenos días lit means "Good days" (sort like Australian "G day or Good day) and also can be translated as "good morning"

    2-Tarde is female, therefore buenos tardes is pretty wrong!

    "buenas tardes" as WITNEY has said is the right form.

    "¿Cómo estás?" indeed means "how are you?". Both in Latin America and Spain is used among family members and friends. ¿Cómo está? is used for your teacher, boss or clients; in some Colombian telenovelas are used for husbands, also.
