I remember in 2007 I only had a car with a tape deck. After i was rear ended I later became disabled cause of the accident. I found this tape and put it in. Had to drive and see my mom on a ventilator for the first time. This song hit home. Before my brain injury got worse I remember Joann from the movie saying about Eddie there would be no future. I had to turn off my moms machine in may 2009. after i tried killing myself in Jan.2009

I thought the same thing and actually got to meet John Cafferty this year in Hannibal MO about a month ago and asked him about that. He said that he had never watched the movie, but thought it was from Eddie and the Cruisers Lost tapes and it was from a tune called in the Heat of the Night. I listened to the song and there is background music that is part of it, it does not have the guitar riff. I am like you, I think that part is awesome!
