  • does anyone have any idea where i can get one of those masks? ive been looking everywhere.

  • i saw most of these pictures on the history channel -___-

  • Y U NO MAKE MORE HISTORIC SONG?

  • Meant to say raykoefoed lol

  • @Raykoefed thanks that helps a lot I remember seeing something about people being desperate for a cure and going to them for advice I'm going to get on it right away XD

  • Hey, I was just wondering. I've been doing some research latley on midevil times especially on the bubonic plague and I keep seeing the cultist with the white mask and I was hoping I could get a name on who these guys are??????

  • @MrINEEDNAME If you mean the people with the Whitemasks that look like bird beaks, they are Plague Doctors, back then they believed the smell of the people dying from the Plague is what spreaded the Diseases, so what they did was made a mask out of i think Leather and put good scented aromas in the beak to make everything smell good. I hope that's what you wanted to know.

  • @bullard111 thanks i finally foundwhat i was looking for lol

  • @bullard111 They made the mask of ceramic and put dried herbs in it

  • @TheAidan134 Ahh, ok thanks!

  • @MrINEEDNAME They're called Plague Doctors.

  • @MrINEEDNAME I am sure u know by now, ....but they were the medicine men of this era sotospeak, there masks were actually medievel interpretations of gas masks, in wich the noses were filled with cleansing herbs to combat contamination, but this was most prominant in italy, not sure iftey were part of a "Clergy" so to speak, *I am drunk but all true" spell check waved. s

  • @MrINEEDNAME They are doctors. The plague people beleived was carried by birds so in a sign of respect they wore the masks. The mask's beak was often filled with flowers and good smelling herbs.

  • Magnificent!

  • love it

  • @RayKoefoed Sounds more like a catholic school more than anything haha. They've been ... oppressing people since the bible was introduced ;).

  • @W4fflemonger i understand what your saying but i go to catholic school im not mad or calling you out but religion really comes down to what you think and a lot of people dont understand the message of god and a lot of extremists take things to far. my school believes acceptance of everyone but a lot of people don understand what its really about but i understand y u would say that.

  • @thenaynaynayfromim Like you, I went to a catholic high school. You cannot deny that they force you to do things. Their opinions on the masses they hold monthly are: "Go to mass or get suspended", sorry if I disagree with you.

  • @W4fflemonger i see what your saying i just wish things could be more fair to everyone and maybe if the catholics lossened their grip on people things would be easier and its not a big deal if u dissagree

  • @thenaynaynayfromim Yea many people wish for things to be more "fair" but too bad that doesn't actually make things fair. The catholic church isn't wrong ... just ... too pushy in regards to certain things. I agree with your views on "loosening their grip on people", that's pretty much exactly what they need to do. The catholic church is the most lucrative business in the world.

  • I sang this for a school talent show... I got a months detention. All the girls love me now though. Thanks Ray!

  • @TheSoldiersMind Don't worry, they're just practicing for ACTA....

  • easily my favorite Ray Koefoed song

  • he has this demonic art and editing style that is just amazing. he should really get a job with editing and music for movies or music or something cuz some of this stuff (scary as hell) is just incredible

  • wow i looked up the actual painting......tence

  • This is awsome man! You know I've got some really good lyrics but I can't find the melody for them....... But I love the video and the song!

  • You could use red faction 1 snippets to make a superb video, maybe even red faction 2.

  • Hey man, i think this song has a nice ring to it, I like to make movies as a hobby and im planning a big project, do u mind if i end up using this in a part maybe? I will give u credit and even send u the link when im finished if u want

  • @Kildaas34 Please do, and best of luck with your project. I look forward to seeing it.

  • @RayKoefoed wow dude, nice editing. Looks like something you would see on v or mtv. Have you thought of publishing some of your songs on iTunes?

  • @PlatinumEditsHD I didn't know MTV played music videos since like the 1980s, haha. I know what you are saying though, and thank you. I actually do have a couple songs on iTunes, and plan to put a full album worth of slightly remastered old songs, along with some newer ones on there before the end of the year. Thanks for the comment.

  • @RayKoefoed :P, they occasionally play music videos, but apart from that if you did put up that album i would love to buy it off iTunes, and i might aswell buy some of your songs this weekend. Keep up the good work :)

  • @RayKoefoed you're pretty late, Ray, I've already put together two albums worth of your music from your website (don't worry, I'm not distributing it or anything) I even used you're artwork for the album covers. the first one I used the mask-girl that you have as your profile pic, the second I used the picture from "the Merciless" video.

  • Comment removed

  • Outstanding like all your work Ray, longing to see more of your tunes on itunes!

  • OH 10 people are ashamed of how they really feal...

  • 10 People were skeletons er zombes.... I dont know.

  • The beak guy is the plague doctor.

  • @mastacheif1 DURRRRRRR

  • @zippinatora HURRRRRRRR

  • i get the storyline of the painting the undead were sick of being well dead so they traded with the living by force

  • @161616spike The painting is called "The Triumph of Death". Its a message about death winning over the living, or just the living are all dead.

  • @Harold441 i know but notice on hide your children they are gesturing to the coffins

  • @161616spike From what I understand, the painting was influenced by the crusade the pope ordered against the heretics in catholic controlled countries, which was the beginning of the Spanish Inquisitions. I don't remember the name of that crusade, or many more details though, sorry to say. I probably should have researched it more.

  • @RayKoefoed meh everyone has there own opinions and facts in your case Nice song though my personal favorite

  • @RayKoefoed I read on the wikipedia it had something to do with the bubonic plague

  • @elitegum SPELLING FAIL!!!

  • I used this song for a Baal mask proformance, acting as the doctor from the video. He was great for a character reference. Everyone agreed that this was the perfect music for the proformance. Thank you very much ray for such a good song!

  • @calstifer awesome. Thanks for using it.

  • amazing music and video. i love your work ;)

  • Creepenis! That's what I got out of this video.

  • Your songs are so fucked up- but that's why they're awesome!

  • Ray, where can i take a look at the full art?, it looks reallu interesting

  • @wgamefreak Thanks wgamefreak. Pretty much all of my recent stuff that I felt was worth sharing is on my website (in video info).

  • im not trying to be a troll but this is...sick (not the good way) but i still like your other songs. (taste the cake) the sum of a body) etc.

  • @ARandomHobo96 That's a compliment ;D

  • @demonjack123 well its good just i bit much for me. my fav is still taste the cake. :D

  • @ARandomHobo96 that's probably one of my favorites too!

  • I picked this painting for my art project, I just need to enlarge it and take invintory of all the things in the picture.

Thanks for makeing me lik it so much, ya dick ...

    =]

  • @TheDeadApple Rofl Roflmao! :P

  • if i gona sub some its be ray!

  • Ray UR AWESOME MUSICAN

  • Ray, Did you did you do the art?

  • @AIphaDog No, it is a painting titled "Triumph of Death" by Pieter Bruegel. I just added the plague doctor and animations is all.

  • @RayKoefoed cool, you did an awesome work at this. I hope future videos would be like this! ^_^

  • LOOOOVE it! You have a new sub my friend.

  • the guy that looks like a scarecrow kinda creeps me out but i think he is the one that started this if not that he still scares the sh*t outta me

  • @lamboboy7 The Shadowy Figure?

  • @demonjack123 yea the one that kinda looks like a scare crow

  • ray's music is so unique imma call it tecmetaroll! a mix of tecno metal and rock n' roll!

  • Uhhh... Would anyone mind telling me what the hell that thing was at 1:59 !?!

  • Dude, you are like a Savant without Autism....

  • lol thats some wired brain u got there, ray

  • lyrics?

  • @goniloc There is a link in video info for my website, where you can get the lyrics and MP3s for any of my songs.

  • @RayKoefoed Yeah, found that earlier. Thanks :) really talented!

  • Forgot to add this part in my last comment. I loved the song :)

  • That's okay, I didn't want to sleep tonight anyway. You sick effing dog.

  • anyone know of other songs like this? not rays stuff i already have all his songs

  • @nilloc93 I would gladly recommend some bands if I knew of any, but unfortunately I don't even know how to classify the genre of many of the songs I have made. I am hoping someone has an idea of where to direct you because I am curious too. I was trying for a industrial-electro sound during this time, but they never turned out that way. I am amateur still, but will hopefully get a more defined style as I go.

  • @RayKoefoed Pffft your a pro :P very creative!

  • This video is brought to you by the Horseman of the Apocalypse: Pestilence.

  • make more songs like this one, it is my favorite out of the rest you've created.

  • i wish i could find a nice close up of that painting isnt it the triumph of death i would like to see all the little...... happenings? does that sound right ^-^; anyone know where i could find something like that like that i can zoom in on And it not all distorted

  • 10/10. What can I say ? Deadly ! Very very good. Should be a hit !

  • this is a bit desubing

  • @mashhead50 Disturbing or Desubbing? Either way you're wrong.

  • ray, this is one of your best works! great job!

  • why i think this its hell or its scary?

  • I am still thinking about why this is not on TV or something.

Seriously this is awesome, really dark, but at thesame time, so realistic that it's almost scary.

Epic job Ray, keep on doingsongs like that ! 8D

  • The images are... very disturbing. But the song is purely awesome!

  • Ray im so glad you came out of funny Gmod videos I love your music videos it's they tell me something in my future and also I recommend that you keep making music videos 100000 times better than your funny ones.

  • Excellently done.

  • A little disturbing, but a really good song. If you don't mind, would you allow me to maybe use this song and maybe more in a video? My friends and I are having trouble finding a song that we could put movement to, and this would be perfect!

  • @Tannerwhatnow Please, be my guest. Infact, give me a link to the video you make and I will feature it, and put it on the page for the song on my web site.

  • @RayKoefoed, woohooo!!!

  • This is beautiful in such a brutal, savage way-- the dissonance in the harmonies provides a very feral element to the piece. It makes me think that history only repeats itself, for literal plagues still affect the third- world and plagues of the mind run rampant in the developed world. We all are the same in the end when we die. Sure, some may leave a legacy of discoveries and creations, but over time only the best will be remembered and the less influential forgotten.

  • @Ocelotte or maybe the real plauge is what humanity is , or what humanity has become, and humanity needs to change, bringing harm to all other souls, which is nature and all life, and then harming itself as well, a cycle and everything is connected, change will come i think .

  • Amazing music, and surprisingly full of truth in this day and age. Creeps my grandparents when I sit down and listen to music like this while working. Hell, Good job and keep it coming.

  • @RayKoefoed Go for it. xD

  • I almost know this song by heart, it disturbed my parents and scared my little sister shitless. xD Thanks Ray

  • You know, I blindly clicked link to this video only thinking about another machinima music video from you and saw this... shocked me indeed. So far this and Task Mistress are my favorite works of yours. Keep it up, man. You are awesome.

  • you are a great artist, if i may point out 1 thing (i think) to make this vid even better: all the song carries 1 rythm, exept the second line of the verse, wich speeds up. did you mean to do this? then just ignore this, please. i hope you make more great music like this

  • (I know I shouldn't but I can't help it)

7 people have a plague on them.

  • you have really nice videos 1 question if you can answer do you make the music yourself or do you have help?

  • @NekoHunterx3 Thank you Neko. All of my songs on these videos that feature my music are done by me. I have done a couple things in collaboration with other people, but I haven't had much success with collaborations. I do occasionally use a sample loop or two, but only from sample CDs or sites like Looperman where they are provided royalty free, intended to be used that way.

  • @RayKoefoed i see thanks for answering by the way keep the good work on :D

  • @RayKoefoed i was wondering, do u sing? cause i thought its a really great voice, especially in "Sum of a Body". I think you are very good at making videos. keep up the good work.

  • @RayKoefoed No problem, man! Like I said, I still love the song, and your other videos too. I just wish that most Christians would realize that one of the first things God commands us to do is to love our fellow man no matter what. They seem to miss that part or mistake it for "criticize your fellow man". Oh, well. There will always be stupid people.

  • Loved the song, and excellent use of a historic painting! Yet as a Christian who advocates tolerance and open-mindedness, I can't say I agree with the message. Yes, many of us are just as you describe, but doesn't every group of people, no matter if it's a religion or race or political party, have some members of undesirable qualities? If you plan to point out the bad side of certain groups of people, how will humanity learn to stop dividing people into groups and get along for the better?

  • Oh, I thought it was about Emos xD

  • @Azartusfar Emos are a plague too.

  • xD no offense to all emos but I sorta agree.

  • This is such an epic song. Thumbs up and favorite.

  • Creepy freaking masterpeice. Thumbs Up

  • painter reminds me of Hieronymus Bosch, luv it , and song is sweet ^^

  • As I remember learning about it, the plague doctors' gas masks were mostly filled with herbs and potpurri, as they believed at the time that the plague could be spread by the stink of the victims, and so if the doctor couldn't smell it, he was safe.

  • I love the bass at 1:57

  • Hey ray um im sure ive seen the paintings/portraits from sum were in prague wen i went there am i correct?

  • Great song and vid

  • i love it

  • yeah... the video is cool but i think its demonic.

  • Oh hell yeah... More old art turned to videos! Gustave Doré's Dante's Inferno engravings would rock.

  • This is awesome. The song would have been cool by itself but the video rocks.

I'm sending a DJ friend of mine over to your site as soon as I can get in contact with him.

  • I find your music very disturbing and criticising.

    I love it!

  • this is just godly, i love the way you make songs that are just for fun, then you make songs like this, that have so much meaning and depth to them, not trying to diss the ones for fun, like task mistress is really good, these are really good songs, and your a very talented person when it comes to making music and stuff

  • wow, it's so good that only 7 idiots said they didn't like it

  • Comment removed

  • all hail cut out animation!

  • 175 Likes, 7 dislikes. WIN

  • this is some very good stuff, you could seriously make a carrer

  • @RayKoefoed I think I feel the same about religion. I have nothing against peoples' need for spirituality, but the only positive thing I've heard about organized religions is that some of them get people to do charity events/ provide food for the homeless, etc. I don't like what I've heard about seen about how people's moral code is replaced by the what the religious leaders feed to them, and how their view of reality is broken by the strange mechanic that makes them reject any concept /

  • (continued) position that does not align with their religion. The extreme "life begins at conception," "homosexuality is immoral," creationism, such uncompromising belief in these extreme positions. I can clearly see the effects of the "brainwashing" as I like to call it, when I looked at the symphony of science video "the poetry of reality" and pitying utubin67. People can believe what they want, but it becomes dangerous when they act on them / try to force those beliefs to become the standard.

  • @Toom1275 I had a thought to wrap this up...

but I forgot it. I'll just get on with enjoying your videos and stop cluttering your comments with my little rant. Keep up the nice musics / vids!

  • @RayKoefoed and they had a primitive gas mask formed as a beak.

the black death was hell for Norway as it killed of 2/3 of the population wich made our country defenceless so the danish could just walk into norway and place us under domain.

  • @youronlinesniper Yeesh, that doesn't sound very good. But, yeah, you live in Norway? if so, AWESOME. I am Norweigan (partly), but other than that i don't know that much about the place.

  • @Lthall29 cool, part norwegian on what side

  • @youronlinesniper If you mean my parents, it's on my dad's side. They're more Northern European, while my mom's side is more western and central European. :D

  • love your songs and nice video

  • @RayKoefoed not big sooprise!!!! >:D

cause dem ppl back then were dumber than a T - rex

    they would belieave anything

like if u said that the world would blow up if you said no, they would never say it agin :D

  • AWSOME RAY LOVE YOU WORK

  • @RayKoefoed wow interesting... i haven't done that much research on them, but what I said is true, the one thing i don't get is y didn't everyone get these gas masks? I think it was because they either took too long to make or they were too expensive and only doctors could where them :(

  • Just in case some of you ppl havnt heard of plague doctors, after and during the plague, the doctors wore these kind of gas masks to protect them from getting the plague, it had a funny beak design but no filters like modern gas masks

  • what software did you use to make this?

  • can u pls tell me the name of the original pictures u used i know that one is the triumph of death but what are the others?

  • @CDDCX Everything in the video other than the television and the plague doctor (found with a simple google image search) are all part of the painting itself.

  • Errrr.. Ummm... When people watched this were they like WTF

  • Ray you do amazing work If you think he has "crappy music" then you have no taste and no life and no Family (no offence to other people)

  • This was a really terrific work. I loved it! :)

  • Hey ray i have a question, is this your voice just auto tuned or is it just computer made

  • @RayKoefoed peple say i ahve issiues all the time and i gues i do i can never decide and my mind is so twisted and warped but frankly i enjoy tthe chayos of it...now what wa si gona say about your ork again fuck DX i forgot

  • Awesome. This is brilliant.

I really love your work especially taste the cake.

That song was funny, go watch it now.

PS. All you trolls that say any of Rays work is gay can go to hell. If you don't like it then why did you watch it till the end

  • Downloaded the mp3 and can't stop listening to it!!!!

AMAZING SONG. AMAZING VIDEO. Very talented, need to hear more of this style.

  • Wow. A striking video. Have you thought about doing one like this with a painting by Salvador Dali?

  • you should get paid for this stuff

  • What art piece is the video on, I recognize Dr Beak from Rome as the Doctor, but what is the background art piece, and did you make it or someone else?

  • @ShadowDon50 its in the description ;)

  • great work again Ray and keep making more songs pleaseee

  • I think that this was the only grim and scary music he's done. The others were pretty monotone or upbeat. BTW love this! Very well done!

  • This is one of the most amazing videos i have ever seen. I would tell you to make MTV music videos, but MTV, is no longer Music T.V. Anyways, YOU ARE FREAKING AMAZING! You have TRUE talent! :D I would not be surprised to see you on T.V within the next few years! XD :D =)

  • This one really got me. This one is different than the others. It's much more darker, and so much more horrific. The Lyrics describe to me the setting clearly: A sinful city that has been on a rampage of un-moral deeds, finally coming to the result of mortality, in other words, the Plague. Excellent choice of artwork, and voicing. Love it.

  • @DaKEELAH09 I interpret the lyrics a little differently. To me, the first verse and the chorus seem to be describing religion pretty well. I'm only half-sure that the second verse is the same.

  • Creepy and cool.A strange combination, I love it.

  • You have a very dark soul, Ray. I love it :D

  • Awesome

  • is there an instrumental version for this too?

  • found it sorry

  • awsome one question were on your site are thlyrics for this?

also keep up the good work

  • If this was a school project im sure u would pass 5 star :) oh btw keep it up sweet vids

  • Professional quality, easily. A lot better than some of the crap that makes it to the charts.

  • A little demented but yet good.

  • guy you cool
