  • that villian!!!!!

  • Michael Keaton?! No way!

  • lol the two proud idiots

  • while I do like this movie so far, I gotta say: Keanu Reeves sucks balls in it

  • yeah... loving the victory music and the faded pictures of them both 'celebrating'...

  • Brian Blessed has a great laugh :oD

  • dogberry is so funny x)

  • I have to say that 6:24 is one of my favorite parts :)

  • @jibbit412 I agree. One of the best bits in the film.

"So say I, methinks thou art SADDER!"

  • 1:48 reminds me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Sadly, they lack coconuts.

  • Keaton: *snore* .... *fart* (rofl)

  • wow a bit disturbing but i loved benedick running around the fountain

  • 0:38 - 1:17 Made me crack up really badly -

Hahahaha Benedick running around the fountain :D

  • Poor Claudio Dx

  • I luvvvvvvv this film it's got mt fave character in it!!! Emma!!!!!! Even though itssss a bit disssturbin!!! bt itsss great!!!

  • @tmistry08 I agreeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

  • 3:48 was the best and was hero getting raped at the end she was all moaning lol.

  • @robisgangsta1 of course not, that's Margaret. Borachio and Don John wanted Claudio to think that Hero was together with another man the night before the intended wedding.

  • @Nyansha so that was someone else i presume..

  • @robisgangsta1 yes, the people at the chamber window are Margaret and Borachio.

  • @Nyansha oh haha. ok i get it now thanks.

  • the beginning is so corny lol

  • I agreeee wiv u!!!

  • Keaton stole this movie... fuckin' hysterical

  • Emma stole this movie... fuckin' TALENTED.

    (nothing against keaton)

  • Comment removed

  • These people change their minds so easily when accused of being proud... common theme in Shakespeare haha!

  • i am going to have to try that pony riding skip, i always wanted a horse....lol

micheal keaton was fantastic in a shakespeare role. the scenes of him and his party are just hilarious.

  • the guy next 2 the gut with glasses ; hthey are just showing how dumb he is, and the three guys are theifs, buhh thats why its funny because he is telling them to look for theifs buhh they are theifs themselvs(:

  • I didn't really get the scene from 1:50-4:40. Could someone please help explain it to me?

  • It's just setting up that they are watch guards for the prince and also that they are not the brightest bulbs. They have to make sure that we know they are ridiculous so we understand why leonardo pays him no mind on hero's wedding day.

  • Oh my God, I love this cast. Even for the ultra-peripheral characters they get people like Phyllida Law and Brian Blessed and Ben Elton. I frickin love Brian Blessed.

  • Who are these three guards and who is michael keaton in all of this? He is as mad as a hatter!

  • @velveteye74 They are the watchmen and Michael Keaton is Dogberry. The idiotic master-constable of the watch.

  • the part with michael keaton is like monty python and the holy grail/spamalot! haha!!!!

  • haha i have the part of Beatrice for the scene at the end of part 5 and the beginning of this xD

  • Me too. :D Gives me a good idea of how to perform this scene.

  • lol slow motion :)

  • i dont really get why don john does that tbh..

  • well, you know that don john is a "bastard" son to don pedro's father. So it's probably to get back at him maybe. Could just be how he is. Still love Keanu Reeves though.

  • since no one has already, im just gojng to point out that keanu reeves, looks insanly good in this film. *puts self back to shakespeare mode again*

  • i know leather pants with no shirt its like GOOD GOD with a side of LORD HAVE MERCY with extra DAYAM!

ahem i do love branagh's shakespeare i wish i got to study this in school i did macbeth romeo and juliet and hamlet- his hamlet is just unreal and what a cast!

  • lol, im just going to agree cos you got it spot on... including the erm...leather part.

  • well i did alz get A's for descriptive writing in school lol i think the keanu one was my most accurate! its also the moodiness and the being a bastard too! lol did u know he's done the tempest played mercutio in r&j and played hamlet on stage

  • I love that Branagh incorporated a lighting storm. A little Shakespeare in-joke. ;-)

(Traditionally, bad weather meant that trouble was afoot)

  • I think its called 'Pathetic Fallacy'. =)

Btw, If you're watching this for GCSE/A Level, its nice to use that phrase.

  • "Are you good men and true?"

LoL their routine was genius, as was Keaton's reaction to it.

  • i love the beginning where hes like in the fountainn im like WTF

  • bahaha i know ay

  • lmao so true, i laughed

  • This is amazing how he basically tells the watch to do nothing.

  • The Watch ist great, we tried to mimik them at a LARP.

  • I love the watchmen!

  • 4:00

    OMFG LMAO XD

  • Dogberry 1:58

  • I know this sounds weird but, is what Don Jon did illiegal? Wrong and immoral? Yes. But is it illiegal?

  • hahahaha when he wakes up with a fart i just burst into laughing. that was fucking hilarious.

  • hahaha, wow... ya, this is really funny

  • Ok.... Why is Benedick in the fountain? I understand the swing. But the fountain? I don't get it!

  • When Beatrice called him into dinner, he was sitting on the edge of a fountain.

  • The way that Keanu Reeves says "The lady is disloyal" is so badly said it's actually funny.

  • dogberry <3

  • Haha, Brian Blessed has a contaigous laugh and the face to go with it, when you see him Laugh you wanna laugh with him lol.x

  • Right you are!

  • as much as i like keanu reeves, i dont think that he is fit for his character.

  • 9:14 = Scumbags!

  • lol im playing benadick and 2 of my friends are playing borrachio and margret lol

  • lol you spelled benadick wrong

    (benedick)

  • benedick

    your so wrong

  • That Benedick/Beatrice montage at the beginning is the greatest thing I have ever seen. Well, that and Dogberry.

  • Sorry Keanu fans, but he is wrong for the role. Some roles he can do just fine, but not this one. And truth be told, though I praised him before, Keaton is out of his league as Dogsberry.

  • Lot of people gave Keaton a hard time over his portrayal of Dogsberry. He is over-the-top, but he is supposed to be. Dogsberry is a ridiculous version of a cop, more of a guy who wants to play cop/constable than actually be one. He is supposed to be ridiculous in seeing his own status as more heroic than it is. I think Keaton does well enough in role since that is the point of the role.

  • i love the splash of Monty Python through Dogberry's entrance!!!

  • if only they had a halved coconut which they found in their oddly usuitable climate for coconuts which might have been transported between a pair of african swallows on a line...NO ONE EXPECTED THE SPAINISH INQUISITION!

  • They cut a lot from the Dogberry and Verges commanding the watch (3-3) scene. =(

  • CANOE REEVES. Ahhh he is so bad. But. This play is amazing, and I love this movie too.

  • we're watching this movie in my social studies class.... the teacher doesn't get that we're in 7th grade and none of us get it. haha (:

  • You don't even get the movie version? Come on.

  • you just gotta love dogberry

  • 5:11

  • I find it interesting that so many schools are doing Shakespeare plays. I'm jealous. xD My school does contemporaries. I would love to play a Shakespeare leading lady. It would be rather challenging.

  • don't be to upset, my school never did it either......they didn't believe in Shakespeare plays....

  • this isnt shit! its a rly good and funny movie! if you were in the least bit literate, you too would see that

  • i get to play conrad at my school play

  • 6:55

  • I am playing Benedick :P

  • So say I. Me thinks you are sadder!

  • i get to be don jon

  • I am playing Don Jon too in my school play

  • lol don jon the bastard

  • Emma Thompson is the dreamiest girl that ever did dream:)

  • lol?

  • oh yes, indeed.

  • im Don Pedro in my school play

  • XD

    Dogberry just made me EL-OH-EL!

i'm pretty darn pumped for playing him

  • Michael Keaton did an awesome job.

  • The fart joke at 3:54 is bloody awesome. its even mroe funny when u do the play and include this.

  • LMAO..the fart was hilarious!

  • i love the gorgeous italian weather

  • dude.... in my shakespeare class we noticed that theres a shakespearean fart joke!!!! 3:50!! its amazing and it made my day lol

  • lol I agree. XD

  • hahahahah such funny scenes loll

  • i love michael keaton

  • I love the comedy of this show! I like Bennedick and Beatrice!

  • who plays don john?

  • Keanu Reeves plays Don John.

  • Keanu Reeves plays Don John. Badly.

  • I wonder how Branagh could possibly have picked him over much more talented theatre actors.

  • aye, that was a mistake!

  • i rather liked him, alothought he was not 'evil' enough..

  • Emma Thompson is such a great actress. But the scene by the fountain with her on the swing is just ridiculous! Watching this is English...

  • was baltasar and margaret supposed to be having sex?

  • haha... i like it when dogberry and verges come riding in on imaginary horses. theyre so funny :)

  • dude... at that point... I don't think Margeret cared what he called her... uuuuch.

Not to bad of a movie I must say though, I have too watch it only because of English class lol

  • eww that was gross ugh so disturbintg!!! the part were that guy was with that women

  • meow meow

  • I don't get why the women doesn't wonder why he's calling out "Hero!" instead of her name...

  • I wonder the same thing

  • it's because they want to stop the wedding, so he yells that out so claudio won't marry her because she's sleeping with another man, even though that isn't her.

  • well yeah i know THAT obviously but why isnt the girl saying anything... like wth that isnt my name

  • i think she was ashamed...or embarssed

  • bold statement but i think this clip proves it.

if michael keaton was a little younger.. he could replace heath ledger and be the joker.. ironically he did play batman in a few movies but he could def be the joker, keaton rocks

  • the beginning is so corny lol but i like the movie

  • Dogberry and Verges remind me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail when they ride in on an imaginary horse...those two are so funny

  • omg don john is soooooooo a bastard....lol

  • Good question. I don't think Dogberry's supposed to be Irish but Michael Keaton's kinda crazy so I guess thats why he's doing a "shite" accent. :D

Of course, Keaton's bizarre accent pales in comparison to the vexation I feel when Keanu Reeves opens his mouth and attempts Shakespeare!

  • I know! Keanu Reeves has no place anywhere in a 50 mile radius of Shakespeare. My Shakespeare class watched this film today and every time he was on screen we just erupted into laughter. He didn't even need to say anything.

  • i know, right?! it's like he opens his mouth and you just hear him say "yeah, dude, we're like, SO causing mischief.. thou... " xD Keanu Reeves and Shakespeare.. just... no..

  • wow i'm watching it in english too! that's really weird.

  • i'm watching this english, but thankx for putting it up because its actually a really good play. i like beatrice. i love it when she insults benedick. don't you think claudio and is cute and so is dohn john and don pedro

  • wow! i'm in love! I guess now i'll jump in a fountain! ;P

  • we are putting on this play i am beatrice! i love it it is awesome

  • were watchin this in english! lol

  • SAME HERE

  • SAME HERE.

    -.-

  • my hatred of keanu burns with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns.

he makes Don Knotts look and sound like Lawrence Olivier.

  • LOL I know what you mean

  • I have to play margaret in a play lol

  • ooh poor u!

  • how are you gonna do that scene with borachio?

  • I have no clue xD

Hopefully in a decent way :P

  • Keaton's Dogberry FTW

  • dogberry is awesome

  • I never understood why Margaret wouldn't have been like, dude, why are you calling me Hero?

  • OtherLittleMikey:

i asked my english teacher that

she said that it could have been a 'roleplay' thing :/

  • i asked a similiar question and my teacher just ignored me lol

  • omg, Keaton's part is way over the top. I've read some die-hard WS fans don't like the job he did in the film, but it makes me laugh. I understand his character is suppose to be trying too hard to speak like a nobleman, but he fails.

Kenneth and Emma really do an excellent job in this movie/play.

  • any one else notice that the watchmen are at the dinner table at 4:57 - 5:09 when they were just with Dogberry?

  • :D i did beatrice's monologue for an audition, they loved it :D

  • Hahha! It's so funny. Benedick is like, I'm in love, so I'm going to folick in the fountain!

    ~Love Much Ado About Nothing

  • Love the horses XD

  • arent they gorgeous!

  • awesome is more like it lol

  • LOVE it when Benedick is kicking the water around! Best part!

  • I love seeing Benedick stomping around in the fountain!

  • This play is Shakespeare at his best.Movie version ain't bad either :)

  • I appreciate you posting this.

    xx

  • lol "wooed" margeret, "aimiable encounter"...poor margeret..=(

  • MAN! I'm reading the play and watching the movie as far as I read and they tottaly skipped the part where Don Jhon and that other guy scheme to ruin Hero's wedding.

    GAYYYYYYYYYY.

  • Because Keanu cannot do Shakespeare, that's why ;)

  • hey, i thought he did an ok job of being the villan.....lol even though he cant talk Shakespeare....:D

  • HAHAHAHAHA MICHAL KEETON

  • is it me or are beatrice and benedick the main focus in this movie?...in the book it seemed like claudio and hero are the main focus....

  • That's all the nudity? My teacher fastforwarded nothing really.

  • haha! your teacher actually forwarded that?! whoa...

  • by bad parts he meant the partial nudity lmao

  • benedick jumping around in the fountain made me laugh...he is soo cute
