Once the Apple logo comes up the first time, smack it a whole bunch of times; HIT IT, AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. It will proceed to flash, plug it into your computer. If it doesn't work, try it again, WITH it plugged in. After that, follow the steps after the adapter logo appears (Plug it into your wall to charge). Cheers!

@Badb3anz another thing u can try, take a small needle and poke it into the headphone hole, turn it around a few times, then poke it as far in as u can. after doing that u take away the needle and throw your ipod in the wall

i dropped my ipod and the cables disconnected but it was still working for a while . Then i dropped it again and opened the ipod and one of the wires disconnected. It was not the battery wire it was the other wire. Today i reconnceted the battery wire and the hardware wire back in place a white screen showed up and went away. Its a problem with your hard drive i have the same problem and i thought it was my battery and i replace it and still the same problem so they you need a new hard drive
Dropping your ipod from your computer desk a couple of time is the best way to fix your ipod with a sad face syndrome... It work for me it can work for you.
I got to the point where it says Disk mode and i connect it to the computer. Then It Still says Disk Mode than Do not Disconnect but its doesnt load on itunes

@meddalion2007 I had the same exact problem with my ipod, i thought it was a goner...Apparantly when the internal harddrive gets loose in the ipod, the unhappy face comes up. Your ipod is not being recognized on itunes because the harddrive is still not in place. I looked around the web and found a solution so crazy I thought it wouldn't work. Bang your ipod against a hard surface a few times. I tried it, not thinking it would work and now my ipod is like new. No more unhappy face. =]

i plug in the ipod to power it does a few things, but when i plug it in the pc nothing happens. i got it to disc drive then plug it in pc and nothing.
also i do not get the apple logo on ipod.

i dropped my ipod and the cables disconnected but it was still working for a while . Then i dropped it again and opened the ipod and one of the wires disconnected. It was not the battery wire it was the other wire. Today i reconnceted the battery wire and the hardware wire back in place a white screen showed up and went away. So i connceted the ipod to my computer and it said very low battery . So i placed it on my dock and it showed the sad face. PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS PLEASE !

Its a problem with your hard drive i have the same problem and i thought it was my battery and i replace it and still the same problem so they you need a new hard drive

Dropping your ipod from your computer desk a couple of time is the best way to fix your ipod with a sad face syndrome... It work for me it can work for you.

I got to the point where it says Disk mode and i connect it to the computer. Then It Still says Disk Mode than Do not Disconnect but its doesnt load on itunes

- ipod on diskmode!
-Ipod reconized!
-done the restore ,but i didnt see the power adapter icon.

when I try to force mine into disk mode it says Do not disconnect on it and doesn't say disk mode on it. is there anything else i can do? cause when i try to plug it into my computer the itunes freezes and doesnt work until i unplug my ipod

@meddalion2007 I had the same exact problem with my ipod, i thought it was a goner...Apparantly when the internal harddrive gets loose in the ipod, the unhappy face comes up. Your ipod is not being recognized on itunes because the harddrive is still not in place. I looked around the web and found a solution so crazy I thought it wouldn't work. Bang your ipod against a hard surface a few times. I tried it, not thinking it would work and now my ipod is like new. No more unhappy face. =]

The video was very helpful. However, I only managed to put my ipod into disk mode and then when I connected it to the computer(Windows 7 OS), itunes did not open. I tried to keep the itunues open and then do it, but it did not show on the itunes and it does not show on my computer as well. Is there a way to sort this problem out? Please advise. Thanks

And also, as soon as I connect the Ipod to the laptop after putting it into disk mode. It says do not disconnect and then just goes back to the same SAD FACE WITH THE APPLE SUPPORT WEBSITE!
