Yes, japan has improved tremendously. They were always very good, but usually the koreans were much better. These days, I don't think there is any big gap between those two countries. And guys like Taisuke in All Area Crew really are the next generation of bboying.

Both crews are amazing. I love Japanese breakdance. All Area, Foundation, Mortal Kombat, Kaiten Ninja, and North Gate are some of the best Japanese crews. And some of the best crews period. All Area crew won Boty Asia 2009 this year and many other competitions. This year is the year for Japan. ^_^
