You'll notice they always put this song later on in their live sets, so dan has a chance to warm up before he sings it.

I dont think anyone could sing this song cold, especially with the pressure of bein on live tv, and the woeful dry mixes on tv shows arent helping.

whether "I" can hit the notes or not is not a valid argument. but "I" wouldn't record something and release it as a single if I couldn't faithfully re-produce it live. as for other artists who can re-produce their studio performances... try Chris Cornell, Thom Yorke, Matt Bellamy, Glenn Richards, James Dean Bradfield, even the dude from Wolfmother sounds like his records. Daniel Johns problem is that he over-reaches and generally falls short. He has the ideas but not the talent to execute them.
