Many people have covered this song recently, with many different styles.

This version does the song justice, in it's ability to take you to 1945, a smoke filled dance hall, where soldiers were home safe, love was love, hatred had been defeated, and the United States was just that, United. A time when the American Dream was alive and well.

You remember the life magazine photo of the sailor kissing his girl. That feel!

This could have easily been her own artistic direction, she most likely listened to the "closer to original" Jo stafford rendition of this song (look it up its on youtube). Then you can clearly see Tori's inspiration for this piece. She was clearly trying to sound "old fashioned".
