Seriously dude. I used to be able to play COD Modern Warfare 1 when i was younger all night. Now that I'm older i find it hard to stay up all night unless its a really good game. Socom has been the only game that's kept me up on numerous nights playing.

I got this game for ten bucks an yes its absolute shit. At times. ALTHOUGH I do like it finally its all patched up and playable. I dont see whats the fuss about its still good at the roots but for an online only shooter is grabage. Combined assaulted sucked major dick and socom 3 was decent because of the vehicle hogs. Socom 1 and 2 an fire bravo had it all accomplish.But hey socom 4 comes out so just forget about it and wait for the bad boy to arrive on shelves
I personally play Socom Confrontation hours a day now, at least it doesn't lag or disconnect. The only problem I have now is the right handed grenade only thing.

I don't own a PS2 anymore and my PS3 won't play PS2 games... I bought Socom I and II a year or so ago to get into the original Socom and was pissed to find out my PS3 wouldn't play PS2 games.
socom have changed since socom 1 i never liked the health bar thats unrealisted but i guess these halo players an medal of honor players love the health bar system to hit some one 10 times so they can turn around an get a lucky head shot if bs if i have some one back that should be an advantage to me plan as simply socom wasnt never an arcade game never was an simulation game for starters regenerate health hope i never see it but way game are now days all games will have it.
If you're looking for "realism", save the dough and buy a decent PC to play proper war sims like the ARMA series. Consoles can't do proper sims. Not enough power to calculate what a proper sim needs.
if this game(confrontation) really was made by slant six, im not surprised it sux. slant six recently made socom fireteam bravo3 for psp and it also sux. fireteam bravo 1 was made by zipper and is easily the better game. btw i have never played confrontation, i play Call of Duty. cant go wrong with COD

sure confrontation sucks but the sad thing is I keep coming back to it. it is sad that socom at its worst is still better then any other game at its best. sure, ill play cod or some other game when it comes out but after a few weeks, im always back playing socom. And so long as my clan is active ill be on. nothing better then owning in a 16v16 until the sun comes up.

@Osterdog That's not really true, though. I thought it was, but I actually watched the videos of the upcoming S4, made by Zipper. It doesn't look much different than this. They have ruined Socom and tried to make it more like Call of Duty. This is bullshit. Fuck Zipper.
Combined Assault wasn't much different than SOCOM 3. It was the same gameplay but with more maps, new weapons, a new campaign, and coop mode which was kind of cool. It was still a piece of shit compared to S1 and S2 but still better than Crapfestation. All the PS2 SOCOM games were more enjoyable than Crapfestation for the fact that they didn't have really slow gameplay and a gay ass sprint button. Also, none of those SOCOM games were ever as buggy as Crapfestation.
socom does suck now, i am entirely sure if i want to buy Socom 4 anymore, quick sniping gone, lean is stupid in the game, respawn sucks since you cannot pick where to spawn, no running and shooting, and no jumping and shooting, and when reloading, you have to hide behind something or else, if u jump, run, or bump into somehting, you have to re reload agains, stupid shit, it wouldn't hurt to keep like 3 or 4 socom 3 maps either.
hahaha... what's up P U T O, you know, i didn't play socom 1 or 2, but in this game, there are lots of shit that it ain't right and what we can do after spending our money in this game?.....let's just hope that the next one it's better than this socom 3.....

I love Confrontation. I had it when it first came out and was pissed about all the textures not loading and the unbelievable lag, but i bought it back a while back (nostalgic to PS2 purposes) and after i downloaded a couple updates i can now say it is one of the best games i have ever played. You should give it another try if you were just pissed about the quality and the polish.

omg socom for ps2 I have been playing all my life from the start of day 1 online! Life was grand back then. I just bought confrontation for 6.99 at ebgames hahaha , im downloading the fucking huge upgrade that takes 30 fucking minutes. We will see how well it is compared to combined assault.

I got this game for ten bucks an yes its absolute shit. At times. ALTHOUGH I do like it finally its all patched up and playable. I dont see whats the fuss about its still good at the roots but for an online only shooter is grabage. Combined assaulted sucked major dick and socom 3 was decent because of the vehicle hogs. Socom 1 and 2 an fire bravo had it all accomplish.But hey socom 4 comes out so just forget about it and wait for the bad boy to arrive on shelves

sure confrontation sucks but the sad thing is I keep coming back to it. it is sad that socom at its worst is still better then any other game at its best. sure, ill play cod or some other game when it comes out but after a few weeks, im always back playing socom. And so long as my clan is active ill be on. nothing better then owning in a 16v16 until the sun comes up.

Combined Assault wasn't much different than SOCOM 3. It was the same gameplay but with more maps, new weapons, a new campaign, and coop mode which was kind of cool. It was still a piece of shit compared to S1 and S2 but still better than Crapfestation. All the PS2 SOCOM games were more enjoyable than Crapfestation for the fact that they didn't have really slow gameplay and a gay ass sprint button. Also, none of those SOCOM games were ever as buggy as Crapfestation.

socom does suck now, i am entirely sure if i want to buy Socom 4 anymore, quick sniping gone, lean is stupid in the game, respawn sucks since you cannot pick where to spawn, no running and shooting, and no jumping and shooting, and when reloading, you have to hide behind something or else, if u jump, run, or bump into somehting, you have to re reload agains, stupid shit, it wouldn't hurt to keep like 3 or 4 socom 3 maps either.

I love Confrontation. I had it when it first came out and was pissed about all the textures not loading and the unbelievable lag, but i bought it back a while back (nostalgic to PS2 purposes) and after i downloaded a couple updates i can now say it is one of the best games i have ever played. You should give it another try if you were just pissed about the quality and the polish.
