First time seeing the follower plate on an Autoreach! Just after 3:35 you can see it going down through the small gap in the front of the body. Just wondering, what were you saying throughout this one? :)
The cart at 1:20 is why I LOVE that arm... he ever so gently rotated the arm toward the rear of the truck (you almost don't notice it but he tapped the cart when he did it) so he wouldn't grab the boxes. Maybe you can get him to show you the full range of motion including that awesome articulation that no other trucks have.
Did THAT arm just move forward? after it reversed at that point?! Must say it looks easy to break; hope it doesn't, but i did notice the hydraulic rams on both sides of the base.. weird..
Probably did, I use to drive a truck very similar to this one (but green), and the range of motion on that arm is impressive. It'll go up/down, in/out like others, and it will also rotate toward the front and rear of the truck, very handy when you can't move the truck any further forward or backward (picture dead end streets or badly parked cars).
i have WM autoreach footage to upload that clearly shows the trucks moving the arm towards the back to avoid hitting a tree! its really neat as i dont see them move them often
Why'd he ram a couple of bins first before he closed the grabber around them? (at 2.00) He's learning the grabber is my guess... and doing quite well.
Alpharetta, GA...not sure what type of truck gets the recycling, they have several different types on their yard, ranging from Labries, Heils and others
This dude is a failure

You definitely need to upload that! Yeah, the drivers don't usually use that feature, but it sure comes in handy.

Nice work! This truck really gets my attention! This should be the standard arm speed for all the other AutoReach's, that'd be some efficiency.

yea i agree though its all depending on the driver or in some cases the truck its mounted on

nice. that is one skilled driver. operating from the left side of the truck, he had no problem on dumping those bins.

nice throw as well

from what ive seen the autoreach arm is quite touchy. so its hard to make a smooth operation but the truck is still efficient
