yep the sad part is that ron paul is RIGHT! the majority of america is so caught up with everyday bullshit that they don't want to except what this country's government has become. citizens need 2 become unified and quit funding the federal government it's the only way to truly fight back, no more wars, no more bombs, no more wasted time and money, unify people and take the power back!
Now that sounds bad? But what if all the students of liberty were good productive members of society, law abiding citizens, charitable, and humanitarians? That would be good right? So what is one blown association in 4 decades of teaching? That's a pretty good batting average in the game of politics!
When mainstream conservatives & Republicans say that you cannot be both AGAINST the war (policy) and FOR the troops, they are wrong and they are INSULTING the troops! Of COURSE you can! The TROOPS do NOT make (bad) policy. You CAN support the troops and be against the war!
The fact that many Vietnam Vets were treated badly when they returned was indeed sad and tragic, but that does NOT have anything to do with this. EVERYBODY these days (left, right, & center) loves and supports the TROOPS.
well obviously YOU are not a genious if you cant even understand what humor is you stuck up little pre modanna. if anyone is dumb here its you. the majority of howard stern listeners are college educated, high income, middle/upper class citizens. i guess thats why you dont understand his type of humor...
ejjm1... not that you're illeterate, but you're just a few books away from realizing why Ron wants the fed to come down. The fed actually constructs recessions and depressions, its inevitable in a fractional reserve system. Almost all of the founding fathers wrote of the incredible dangers of a central bank, and the only president who eliminated and allowed the people of this country to live without debt, was andrew jackson, spent his whole presidency ridding of the central bank.
Paul is passing blame from Congress and the Senate, to the Fed.The Fed is a lender, the US Gov is the borrower. You can't blame your bank if you barrow too much money. The Fed has no interest in destroying the US currency or the US financial system. They run many central banks in almost every nation of the world. It would be tremendously bad business for a central bank to drive a major country(USA)into default. Paul is blaming the Fed for his fellow politicians outrageous spending habits.
dont you see any problem with what you just said? about the u.s government borrowing its own money??? does that type of system even make sense to you?
someone needs to watch money masters and do a little research...
obviously you morons dont know howard stern. just because he is an eccentric person doesnt mean he is dumb. you should watch the interview he has with bill o'rielly. its on youtube.
I think Ron Paul would be wise to go on Howard Stern. Howard understands free speech, interventionist govt and unnecessary warfare. Howard is very smart, and is openminded to people who present an argument based on facts. I'm not sure if Stern's demographic (potential votes) is worth the hassle, time and/or negative criticism, but his listeners are people too...taxpayers who know something aint right.
600 billion thats chump change to Obama hes wasted 2 trillion on failed Tarps, and bailouts his first year in office not to mention a health care bill that will end up costing trillions more. these assholes sit on there high horses talking down to the troops like they were forced to fight, they want to save 600billion on war costs but waste twice as much on fraud and abuse in the government systems like Medicare Medicaid, and the post office
those bailouts were all started with bush and are a keyensian economic response which is the same way anybody other than ron paul would have responded and you're a fool if you blame that on obama.
Ditto...most of the comments below but I would add that it's not just the American people who are getting more and more pissed off....expect a lot of blowback from this misadventure. The Afgans, Iraqis etc. who have been displaced, raped, disfigured, lost family members etc. will be the real legacy of this disaster. After the M.I.C. has sucked all the wealth from the nation there will be nothing left to defend the U.S. from the angry mob...someone once said....choose your fights wisely.
daeclipse03, 3,000 "Americans" were not killed on 9/11. There were Americans and many other people from other parts of the world who live and work in NYC. You posit as the basis for the murdering now taking place in our name the unproven story put forth by the same incompetent, mendacious government that mishandles virtually everything it touches--including the defenses of this nation on 9/11. You put your faith in that and don't expect a full-fledged investigation before murdering innocents?
An Excellent interview, bravo. Here are two military men speaking out about these insane wars that no one knows, WHY we are there. Drones killing innocent civilians and we wonder WHY people around the world hate our guts. The MILITARY INDUSTRIAL Corporations RUN this country and anyone who gets in their way is run over by the machine. Do NOT let your sons and daughters join this horrible system that turns good people into killing machines for profit. The two party system is owned by elite
well first off last I knew 3,000 innocent Americans were killed by these muslim radicals so I wouldn't call them innocent civilians. Its war if American citizens were as big of a pussy in WW2 as they are today we would've gotten our asses handed to us. Grow a pair of balls we either kill them or they will kill us believe that.
Most of the 9/11 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia. So, your argument holds no water. And yes, most of the Afghan people who have been killed, injured, or whose homes and livelyhoods have been destroyed did NOTHING to the U.S. Looks like it just makes you feel better to know we are killing some brown people.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
they were Al Qaeda terrorists who were headquartered and trained in Afghanistan of course were going to go there and fuck them up. Civilian casualties is a consequence of war no matter how much you liberals cry about it, its always going to happen. So we can either go after them or we can sit back home with our heads in our asses and pray that someday they will just learn to love America and our way of life and stop attacking us which one is more logical here?
Ok daeclipse03, so according to your logic, if the news comes out that Al Qaeda terrorists and being headquartered and trained in Tampa, FL, you would support the invasion and occupation of Tampa by military forces? Even if it means killing innocent Americans?
Or is there a difference between killing innocent Afghans and innocent Americans?
BTW, I am not a liberal by any stretch of the imagination.
According to the 9-11 report even 6 of the 9 people who wrote the report now say it is a piece of crap. Reopen 9-11 and let's get to the truth and THEN go after the people responsible. We are damn good at killing people and invading countries. Maybe, read "WAR IS A RACKET" by General Smedley Butler. He was a well decorated general who was good at killing and later found out he was just a strong arm for corporations and he had a big pair. Your arguments are lame and tired grow up.
I'm sure the KKK has a radio show somewhere and has probably invited him to talk.
If it hasn't happened yet after he's been in politics for 30 years, I'm not going to panic and think it's going to start now. If you want to hold it against him and feel differently about him for this choice, that is your prerogative, but it's also my prerogative to not do so. I've been involved with the movement for over 2 years, this country has far bigger issues than who his interviewer is.
I see your point, but he also isn't the type to force his views down people's throats.
Ron Paul has converted many liberals, not just neoconservatives and independents. And that's not a bad thing if he gets liberals to think differently about their beliefs.
He won't go on crazy rude shows, so far he limits interviews to people of any political stripe who are respectful. I'm okay with that, he's a sensible fellow. :)
I just read up a bit on him and have to agree that he's a typical liberal. The only liberals I don't completely write off are the few pro-2nd Amendment ones I've run into--I think they can possibly be salvaged, but I don't think Montel is one of them.
Again though, my support for the philosophy that RP espouses won't waiver based on his interviewers. It doesn't change whether he's being interviewed by the right or the left. :)
I won't try to change your mind, but he seems like a thoughtful person as far as I know.
What kind of liberal is he? Most liberals have never served their country militarily. Is it that he's for the healthcare thing? I haven't heard what he's said about that, socialism, etc. I've heard him talk about our foreign policy and while I don't agree with him entirely, I didn't get the impression that he was a dumb, blind liberal.
But to write off RP because of his interviewer is a bit silly.
Montel is entirely different on his radio show than he is on his goofy TV show.
Montel is a vet and is actually well-informed on many issues--too bad that he has psychics and other wingnuts on his TV show. Though, I think his TV show is cancelled.
Every time I hear Ron Paul, and especially in this excellent interview with Montel, I am constantly reminded of why he received more contributions from military troops than all the other Presidential candidates combined in this last election! It is because he possesses such true wisdom and his respect for the constitution and individual liberty and responsibility! I, like the many others, would have loved to had Ron as the Commander in Chief at this moment in time rather than Obama!
Montel brings up a very good and often unspoken ? what about our proxy armies? Blackwater among others is also fighting this war. Blackwater is also developing some nasty weapons to be used by this ghost army.
Actually, although he doesn't say so here, Ron Paul has frequently mentioned the role of oil in both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. Here he focuses upon the role of the military-industrial complex, which has driven foreign policy for a long time. This is the 'other side' of socialism that most "conservatives" don't wish to be confronted with, but the fact is that a great deal of our "defense" spending is tied to a sort of economic-industrial nationalism that has become an end unto itself.
