@mrbry728 Indonesia is not some pageant-crazy, beauty-obsessed nation like the Philippines so this sort of events have VERY low rating...there's no way the investors are going to splurge on this sort of event. Even miss universe pageant have low viewership in Indonesia, let alone Mister International...it's not that we don't have money to fund extravagant events, but from business point of view it doesn't make sense to waste so much money on a low-rating show.

@69franco Obviously, LOL. But what are you gonna do - this is Indonesia after all. To be honest, I don't mind that we're a little bit conservative. Just as long as it's not the oppressive kind of conservatism like in Malaysia or certain Middle Eastern countries. Indonesia is very westernized, but as an Asian I think we shouldn't blindly copy all Western cultures just because it's from the West...and for that I'm quite proud that we have some sort of cultural identity.
