@jblvrilvable Horses do lay down to nap and sunbathe. The only time you should be worried is if they are down for several hours. And no the horse isn't dead
Reminds me of me during the last month of pregnancy. "Uuuugggghhhhh" (waddle waddle waddle) Just wondering if her attempts to stand back up were as humorous as mine were =D
Due you have any videos on her foal? i would love to see what that gourges girl had. SHe is so acting like a pregnant mare there! even her udders are filled. Did she have a safe foal. filly or colt?
My mare has already had a cremello 3 years ago, we breed her to a black stallion! She has also had a Grey, but i don't know what color the stallion is! Thanks for your help everyone!
THis looks like a really nice mare why is she foaling in mud or sand and not in straw, its crazy!! should be a clean enviroment. or even in a grassy pasture.
An aborted fetus, usually. The gene responsible for a palimino's coloring backfires when matched with itself. Don't know the technicalities of it, just know what happens. Also occurs when breeding two albino's.
You can't have a true albino... the same gene that causes true albinism in horses causes health issues that kills them within a week of birth (if they hadn't been stillborn, which is what happens most of the time).
The foals initially appear normal except for their unusual coloring. They're usually breathtakingly beautiful and perfectly conformed. The foals stand and nurse and start playing next to their mothers, like any normal foal. Then you notice that they don't have a bowel movement after they nurse or when you give them an enema. Signs of colic, or intestinal cramping generally begin, from one hour to twelve hours following birth, due to the foal's inability to pass feces. "lethal white"
from one hour to twelve hours following birth, due to the foal's inability to pass feces. The "lethal white" foal has an underdeveloped and contracted intestine. In most cases, the intestine simply stops short of the anal opening so the food cannot pass all the way through the foal's digestive system. This problem is caused by a failure of the embryonic cells that form nerves in the gastrointestinal system, and attempts to surgically bypass the problem have, to date, been unsuccessful.
The gene responsible for a palomino's color is the cream gene. When homozygous on a chestnut horse it produces a cremello, and a perlino on a bay horse, both of which are incredibly viable. The white gene results in an aborted foal when presented homozygously; homozygous frame overo results in a dead foal within a few days due to an incomplete colon.
SHES DEAD why is your horse down while preggo that can kill both of them!

@XxRisingVelocityxX horses can become pregnant as young as 2 1/2. if your mare has run with stallions, she's probably pregnant.

She's not foaling, she was just out in her corral sunbathing. She foaled in a deeply bedded straw stall 2 weeks after this was filmed.

You have a 50% chance of palomino, a 25% chance of chestnut, and a 25% chance of cremello (which is NOT the same as albino).

By "popping" I was refering to a joke. Never an insult, she is such a lovely mare. Good luck on the foaling. =)

make sure you have your sound turned on ;-) You can hear her "complaining".
She had a healthy filly on May 14. Both are doing just fine.
