  • !0 mins in, I've not heard a single good thing about it.

  • Jesus, people beg you to do a review and all they get is 'whatever' used every few sentences? A great production in a great venue and all i hear here is a scene by scene 'meh'. You can't even comment about the venue itself? You are a student in a dorm in somewhere dull. Who cares?

  • @mushypeas10 I seem to recall that you usually have a problem with my opinions and videos anyway so I'm not going to take this to heart. The venue didn't make much of an impression on me besides it's limitations so I didn't feel the need to comment on it. I was very impressed with Sierra and I do say that, but I've seen better performances, personally, and I'm allowed to express that.

I like reviewing and I like my school. If you don't like me or my vids don't watch. Pretty simple.

  • Raoul (in my opinion) should be like,"Why are you acting like such a baby, all this guy's doing is sending stupid notes!" It totally makes sense why he was acting like that. He doesn't understand what she's going through, he wasn't there when Erik completely lost his mind or anything!(Stranger than you dreamt it) Raoul, the character, in this play is just stupid and he's suppose to be insensitive, or the directors MADE him do it! Did you EVER think about that? Just take it into consideration!

  • @christinegrrl Thanks for your opinion. I'm allowed to have my own and I don't interpret Raoul like that. I don't think he is supposed to be stupid or insensitive in this musical. I think he's supposed to be frustrated but caring, and I didn't see that in Hadley for a lot of it. I don't care who made him do it. I thought he was condescending, but if you liked it that's what you like, that's cool. So yes, I DID think about it and I DIDN'T like it.

  • @animelover13579 You're absolutely right, everyone does have their own opinion. I didn't mean that you can't, and I'm sorry that you understood that way. I guess I didn't say it in the correct way. Please forgive me, and believe me that I truly respect your opinion. Sorry again. :(

  • @christinegrrl Sorry to be snappy, I get a lot of hate comments sometimes and I misread things to sound meaner than they are I guess. No worries, all opinions welcome!

  • @animelover13579 No hard feelings. Sometimes I misread comments too, and I just like people to know what I think, even if they don't like it, but sometimes I say it really rude and I hate myself afterwards. No hard feelings, right?

  • @christinegrrl lol right. All good!

  • I was beyond happy to see Phantom on the big screen, but I honestly was left a bit disappointed. Ramin was good, he thankfully stayed on pitch most of the time, and I think a West End Christine deserved to be there instead of Sierra.

Hadley Fraser was the one principal I couldn't really stand, but I thought the finale was amazing, John Owen-Jones and Anthony Warlow just completely kicked ass, so that was fun to see them get a little recognition.

  • Nice review - I think after Think of Me... the bow to the audience was great - cause the projections were actually displaying real video footage of the actual audience in the Albert Hall.... that was awesome and really clever.

  • (Cont.) And I totally agree with the whole part of the roof top scene! I was thinking about how he just really didn't understand the character and he just wasn't acting very well. Then I realized that it probably wasn't him acting poorly but probably just doing as he was directed. I'm sure that ALW told him to act so that it would lead into Raoul in LND. If that makes any sense. All in all I love your review so far and I really loved the 25th anniversary! I thought it was wonderful!

  • I really think you make a lot of good points throughout your review! I personally loved the 25th concert and I think that the casting was great! I think Sierra was superb! Ramin was great too! I mean I've really liked Ramin since I heard him in Love Never Dies! I didn't think that there could've possibly have been a better Phantom until I heard JOJ walk out and sing that part at the end!! he is phenomenal! Anyway I still think Ramin did great! I personally loved Hadley in the part of Raoul!

  • i hated the movie I love ramin as the phantom

  • I agree that John Owen Jones should have been cast as the Phantom. His voice is so rich! I did like Ramin's acting, though. I was disappointed in his voice, not his character.

I disagree about Hadley, though. I loved him as Raoul. I found myself wanting Raoul on stage ALL OF THE TIME. This is the first time I notice how little Raoul sings on his own.

I'm planning on filming my own review, if you're interested I'll send you the link when I post it.

  • @PinkCarnationProDux Would love to see it! I know lots of people loved Hadley, but I've seen other Raoul's whose acting I prefer more. He's got a gorgeous voice tho.

Different strokes for different folks, that's the beauty of live theatre!

  • I know it's a really tough question because they're both equally phantastic, but I think I would choose John Cudia who is my ultimate favourite Phantom. Both his and JOJ's Music of the night are equally perfect, but the problem I have is with JOJ's make up. John Cudia still looks sexy with all those prosthetics on him, but JOJ looks a little too drag-queenish for my taste. I also just generally think that, while JOJ is absolutely sensual and hypnotizing, that John Cudia's voice is sexier.

  • Thank you so much for another great review. I completely agree with you regarding all the LND references and I really didn't like Hadley Fraser's Raoul, too rough. I think even Joseph Millson would've been a better Raoul because at least he has a softer voice and just a softer personality. P.S Which If you had to choose betwen John Cudia and John Owen-Jones who would you pick as the only Phantom you could ever listen to ever again, I know it's a tough one :P

  • @movietreasure Oh god, that's one of the toughest decisions I have ever had to make! They're 2 of my absolute fav Phantoms... I think by a smidgen JOJ because he is just so powerful but sensual at the same time... This could be a bit biased because I've seen JOJ live more times than Cudia, and more recently too...

TOUGH!!! Which would you choose? :)

  • @animelover13579 John Cudia is my pick, mainly due to the fact that he was my "first Phantom." He's the first of two I saw live and his energy was so palatable. He was the perfect blend of scary and sympathetic. Also, I had an opportunity to meet him at stage door and he was one of the NICEST guys I've ever met. He kind of holds a special place in my heart.

I actually thought Ramin did a great job, especially since this was his final Phantom performance. His love for the musical is contagious.

  • @KatyHallow John Cudia was the first Phantom I actually met at the stage door and I almost died of joy when he shook my hand haha! He was the first one I saw on Broadway (I'd seen the tour when I was younger) so it was special too.

I still think Ramin did a great job, but he has such a more rocker-esque voice than others and I just think more classical sounding Phantoms appeal to me more.
