@xeridian Lol Guild Wars Sold 6 million copies in what 4 years? Starcraft 2 has already passed 3 million and its only a month old. They are expecting over 7 million copies sold in the first year.

@Applecore8 Were not discussing Starcraft nor are we discussing that genre or type of game. Plus Starcraft 2 is a Sequel to an amazing game so there is a huge fan base to begin with. Guild Wars is the ONLY 1st debut Online RPG game to come within the numbers of sales that WOW has done. I dont discredit Blizzard or WOW for any of their accomplishments. I was a HUGE Blizzard fan and actually know one of the designers from Warcraft 3 personally. That said, GW2 will be a force to be reckoned with.

WOW ison it's last leg, Blizzard CEO admitted to XPLAY & G4TV that 70% of current WOW subscribers that are inclusive in the so called 11 million either a.Didn't level passed 10 b.Didn't complete sign-up after their trial or c.Just stopped subscribing and are not current When GW2 hits this November, it will be the last blow needed to take down the Juggernaut.

@xeridian You have a good point, but I will still remain a WoW fanboy myself. I do play other MMO's but I think WoW is the best. On a side note, if an MMO introduces housing that gives people an edge, I quit, and brand that game as shit.

Um your an idiot for 2 reasons, 1 Guild Wars is free to Play so there are no SUBSCRIBERS, hence why people still play the game. 2. if you look at the metea data site, the Guildwars press release and the MMO report on G4 they all have media that stats 6million sold and this was mid 2009, they are still selling the 1st GW and about to dominate with the release of Guild Wars 2 in November as they just won Gamescom with Best Online Game last week!

@xeridian Guild Wars is nothing but a glorified IMVU now. I played GW all the way up to EOTN and beat it and then what? Nothing. GW doesn't update it's content or make it hard enough to keep players playing to progress to get better things. Everything nice in GW is vanity based and not better stat based so it's pointless to even bother farming for it. WoW has way more people playing it then GW ever will because it's more rewarding then getting some stupid piece of armor that looks prettier.

@zomj Clearly you’ve never heard of Guild Wars: Beyond. The still progressing (and updating via patches) primary quest line that bridges the gap between Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2. And the fact that prestige armors are just skins without stat advantages is a good thing; it makes it so that elitist jerks can’t brag for having no social lives and thereby grinding for six months. Yeah I spend my Saturday nights going out with my girlfriend not raiding, I am such a worthless noob.
