Oh Danny...what a pleasure it has been to have discovered you on YouTube! While this isn't my favorite tag, I do appreciate its complexity and your ability to perform it well. The last bass note is remarkable for a guy who sings tenor. Great.
@BarbeeAnne Very often in barbershop harmony the very best tenors are basses. I don't pretend to understand why their falsetto voices are so incredibly pure, but they are. Danny is NOT a bass by virtue of his vocal cords, but he does have the very unique ability to make the notes sound as if he IS a bass. Nothing but kudos to you, Danny, for your magnificent talent. You have some really good genes there, guy!
I've been followin you for a couple years now, and just had to remind you how talented you are as a vocalist. Your arrangements are fantastic and compliments to Scott Haines for picking the perfect person to perform this tag. Real singers live for dissonance. Thank you for posting your videos!
I'm still practicing listening to your surprising chord successions, and am starting to enjoy their strange variety and the effects they create (tension / relief...). It's still a bit too much for me, probably because it seems to lack coherence or some form of motif. Perhaps you could explain in the description what your intentions are when you pick your chords?
At least I don't hear anything like this anywhere on YouTube. You do your strange work well. ;-)
ALWAYS happy to see a new post from you, Danny... they can't all be Transformers Theme or Let's Get Started. The fun/happy/funny ones are my personal favorites, but PLEASE don't hesitiate to upload any/all you put together. Thanks for your stuff.
That was different. Not bad, just different. the "do"s at the end were a little hard on the ear. Not the notes or tone. The "d"s. If they were "oooo"s instead it would have been better.
Video response? I don't any equipment. How about a tutorial on what to get and how to "lay it down" as they say in the recording biz. THAT would be interesting! Gotta go. I passed my limit of quotation mark usage per comment. The gig is up and I can hear the "comment police" at the door.
I particularly disliked this song I'm afraid, the notes don't sound pretty together, they almost sound like dischords. However, I am impressed with that incredibly low note you sang and your range of notes, so well done for that.
@08firthf I did not write this so I don't take any offense at all; however, I do find it to be pleasant.. with one chord striking my ears less than perfectly for my taste.
I like how on the first measure the overtones (from the bass I'm assuming) cause you to hear an E5 that adds to the tight dissonance with the D#. A similar thing happens on the second beat of the last measure where an F#5 is heard. My guess is that it's the result of the octave Bs in the Bari/Lead. Either that or I'm crazy and just hearing things. :P
These videos on phenomenal. You have such an amazing voice. or should i say voices. always a pleasure to hear you sing! i wish i had the talent to sing that you have. Keep it up!

You're not a tenor. I don't believe it. Your low E is too perfect. Sorry :P

@daniscool99 I assume you mean the last one. I was going to change that last bass note, but by the time I decided that, it was already up.

Did he write the piece in 8/4 just to be obnoxious? Or is there more to it that serves a purpose for the 8/4?
