  • Why does wiki say being overweight caused her stroke? I can't see her figure here, but in her face and upper shoulders she looks healthy. I just don't get it?

  • princess grace was more and more beautiful than princess diana, even if she was in her 50s

  • @TheMoncheri86 I think Princess Diana would have agreed with you.

  • She was true Grace

  • @purciliahotmail She was named after her fathers sister who died young.(Her father was 100% Irish blood.)

  • she's my idol!!!!!!!!!!! my mother is always saying that she was the best princess of all history....and she's right!!!!!! just wach her.......beautiful, elegant even if she's not young anymore ......love princess grace 4 ever

  • Great woman. Trivia: throughout this interview & in day-today life you’ll notice that Often is most mispronounced word. WRONG: OFF-TEN / RIGHT: OFF-AN

  • I love the sound of her voice: elegant, cultured, refined. She is so beautiful.

  • She was just as beautiful here as she was when she was 25... I think that must come from her inner beauty. Princess Grace was gone much too soon, and is still missed.

  • To all the people that say Grace speaks in a phony accent, it is NOT a phony accent. Her accent was a New England accent, a remnant of the English accent heard on our shores when we were an English colony. The New England accent was heard from colonial times, all thru the centuries, until 1945, when it started dying out. I've heard World War II had something to do with it. Remnants remain in our day, like the accent of the Boston upper classes.

  • At this day and age when class and manners is the last thing- we need more people like her and Audrey Hepburn... gosh they were such real beauty & elegance that actress now wouldn't come close...

  • does anyone know why she talks like she has some kind of european accent? she's from philly. is it from living in monaco or something?

  • @lordlionelrathbone its a learnt accent one she had to get going to hollywood

  • Doutzen Kroes is looks like her... Isn't she?

  • Its kind of strange that she can mention meeting Franco without commenting on the fact that he was a Fasciest dictator who ruled his country with an iron hand. But I guess when you are a Princess ex movie star who slept with half her leading men things like are not taken into account.

  • She aged gracefully.

  • @0sceptique0 she was only 52 she hadnt aged taht much

  • @0sceptique0 as most women should.

  • She was such a beautiful, classy, and dare I say gracious human being. Not many stars were in the same category - Audrey Hepburn, perhaps. They're both dearly missed.

  • All I can say is that the world is a less fortunate place without Her Serene Highness Grace, The Princess of Monaco no longer living.

She was blessed with natural good looks and beauty. She was a talented movie star, she came from an Irish-American family with a father that was a millionaire, and most importantly, Grace Kelly was just a nice person, as Jimmy Stewart commented during the eulogy that he gave at her funeral in 1982.

    Sleep well sweet princess. RIP.

  • how old is she here?

  • Most beautiful woman ever.

  • she was 52 here, roughly the same age as madonna now.

  • @firewoman It is shocking that she was younger than Madonna's current age here. She looks so frumpy, had been retired for 27 years, and most of her exes and costars were in their 70's and 80's. Madonna is still at the top of her game and looks great. And I can't think of any of exes or costars of Madonna's who are that old, except for Warren Beatty who is 74.

  • @listentome94 I think she looks better here than Madonna does and she probably hadn't had any work done

  • She was an amazing actress and a beautiful woman!

  • who were the 2 confused people who pressed dislike???

  • she aged so beautifully

  • she has the same hair here like this german politican

  • Elizabeth Taylor is up there in heaven now with Grace. R.I.P

  • what a lady.

  • She is what women should be today, elegant with kindness..A terrific woman

  • Sorry, but anyone who says she looked plain needs their eyes tested. Even here at fifty she was gorgeous. She was absolutely one of the most beautiful women ever. I do agree, however, that her clipped accent was artificial and at times a bit annoying. Perhaps she wasn't a great actress but she had a class and a style that don't exist today.

  • Whoa! Where did all the haters come from? For one thing, those saying she's faking a British accent...do you have ANY idea what a British accent sounds like? That is NOT a British accent. It is a very "proper" American accent. The American accent has evolved. Listen to ALL movie stars from her era and you'll notice how similar they sound. And she's boring? Only because the interviewer is asking some really boring questions. AGAIN, times have evolved, as have interview styles.

  • @fenderchick1977

movie stars take diction classes. some develop more of an affectation than others. you're ignorant about history, language, and performance artists.

  • SO CLASSY

  • dear eleanorfan1990, could you writte what Grace says about Spain and General Franco? my english listening and understanding isn´t too good... i would be very proud.

    thanks a lot

  • @zazazayatusa The first head of state that I meet was general Franco when we were on our honeymoon in Spain. Of course I was very nervous and rather intimidated. Also I didn’t speak Spanish well enough to really converse with him.

  • Long live Her Royal and Serene Highness, Grace Kelly of Monaco! A devout Roman Catholic, a loving mother, wife, sister, and daughter, and a compassionate princess!

  • Grace Kelly is the most gorgeuous woman, past, present, and future. I only wish when she died we could freeze her body and clone her. <3 <----yes that is a heart mofo's

  • Didnt she attened the Royal Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981 ?

  • yes she was just an ok actress. and people only admired her because she was only elegantly beautiful and the fact that she was a princess.

  • Recently, I was made aware of some of the tendencies that people have that are body movements and such that betray what is really going on in the heart. One of those was someone who plays constantly with their wedding ring, indicating severe problems in the married life. Watching this video, I could not help but noticing this fact throughout the interview.

  • she has a class

  • Elegance

  • so monarchies are needed to give youth their sense of identity when in todays world they are searching for their identity on their own ...i wonder if you could ask the millions of youth who have died for the identity given to them by monarchies over the centuries if the sacrifice was worth it ,, i wonder would they concur with the princess

  • I have a love/hate thing for Grace Kelly. Sometimes I love watching her and other times she drives me nutty with that fake accent. I love watching her in Rear Window though.

  • @JenniferA585 - why people get so bent out of shape over accents is what drives me nutty.

  • If I could look like anyone, it would be Grace Kelly as a young woman. She was a wonderful person.

  • Oui, Vive Grâce!

  • If only she knew that she was going to die... :-(

  • she was always such a beauty! I love her elegance, grace and her films!

  • @lavitaebella25 I agree!!! :) She is my favourite actress ever! :)

  • I watched some of her movies over the last weeks and I thought she was soooo one dimensional. How could she get the oscar? She's not that striking as a beauty as I had heard. Thanks to who dressed her. Her dresses are so beautiful and her hair is always well-styled but without them I'm afraid she's pretty plain. Pretty yes, but plainly pretty. No way jawdroppingly gorgeous the likes of Ava Gardner for example

  • @evanlove09 WHAT! im a 17 year old girl who can see that Grace was phenomenol! and you can't ..im shocked SMH

  • @shabanasks I think I have to agree with evanlove09. Grace Kelly was obviously a beauty, but there is some certain plain-ness about her that makes her not very inspiring for me. No offense. But in Mogambo next to Ava Gardner, she is just...ordinary.

I wouldn't call Grace a "phenomenon", I use that word only for certain geniuses or remarkable talent. However, Grace is an ok actress. Not the best, but also not a very bad one.

  • @evanlove09 you shouldn't judge the whole one dimensional-multi dimensional thing on the basis of looks

  • @chilvari I didn't judge it based on her looks, but on her acting. It's very one-dimensional for me. Maybe it's because she always got to play boring characters but anyway I'm not quite impressed with Grace the actress. Grace the woman I need to read more about before I can say anything :)

  • viva grâce !

  • I can listen to her talking all day long

  • Grace was an elegant lady, perhaps the most beautiful blonde in history, especially when she was young. Those derogatory comments about her are unwelcome and unnecessary. People have their own private affairs in life and those are their own personal business. She died soon after A. Haig's teams moved into nearby area, when she had the dubious car 'accident'. At first she was so well they were sending her home with a fractured arm, etc., then she was hospitalized...uh oh.

  • @gnsback you are right!gorgeous,classy...we shall never know the truth about the "accident"

  • I don't know why beautiful women always get such hate.

  • @pdaervo we live in a deeply misogynistic society... and they're mad they can never get someone as fine as gary cooper ;)

  • @pdaervo

I don't know. She is beautiful but, I like Grace very much because of her class and grace.

  • the interviewer clearly has no class.

  • she was a fan of franco? ohh, that naughty right wing sexpot!

  • In my humble opinion she aged beautifully and looks more lovely than ever in these interviews. She was a beautiful lady who obviously loved older men and loved having sex with them. I really can't see why in this day and age anyone can see anything wrong with that. Good for her for enjoying sex. Hatred by some people is born of jealousy oure and simple. To me she was one of the most stunning and sexy women ever. That interviewer was a lucky man indeed to meet her. I hope he apprecated it.

  • @guitarmaan That is an outrageous allegation that you just made. That she slept around with older men?!!?You must know that those are tabloid rumours.

  • One of Hollywoods GREATEST Legends. Terrific Person and Great Actress...She is totally right about hollywood.

  • I love her in rear window and dial M for murder!!

  • Grace Kelly was such a gracious and elegant woman. Thank you for posting this.

  • She has the prettiest smile ever

  • loved her in Magambo

  • Her remarks about the continuity of royalty are so correct.

  • why the hell do you haters spend your time trawling utube to write hate comments on people you dont like, are you mad, go comment on someone that you like instead and leave people alone, stop trying to force your views on other people.

  • Grace Kelly is a true Hollywood legend i love her in High noon as Amy kane i think shes really good looking and she was a truly Great acttress

  • Lmao, did Monaco turn her British?

  • Even at this age she is still talking in her bullshit English accent.

  • I always find her incredibly...boring! I don't know why. Her beauty and acting never attract me. But she had a very successful career, maybe because she was in good films with good directors and good co-stars, and then her legend was guaranteed my marrying a prince and dying young.

Get over it jimmymoonless, not all stars got popular because they had huge talents. This is an unfair world!

  • what does he mean "then she threw all that away to become a princess" is this man a retard!!?

  • Gotta say this interview would have been much more touching if Walters had been the interviewer. This guy looks and sounds like a cigar puffing, beer swilling and burger munching detective grilling her.

  • @klyana130 I totally agree with you - this guy is a bloody idiot and slob - he should have showed some respect and at least worn a tie and moved his stance to face her - what a disrespectful jerk. I hope he has watched this and seen what a slob he looked like! Thank you for your wonderful comments and allowing me to AGREE! Her eloquism is supreme - he probably didn't even understand what she was talking about. Gutter journalism - I'm very surprised they let this idiot in! Thanks again

  • @klyana130 That's Pierre Salinger, who was President Kennedy's press secretary. He also spoke fluent French, which helps in Monaco.

Until about 1985, good writers and reporters got on television. Pretty people didn't get on TV, save local television. Unfortunately, very few good writers are television journalists now. But, at first, they treated it like radio with pictures, what it is.

  • @klyana130 totally agree, lol

  • @klyana130

I agree. He is horrendous, in looks, manner, questions. Very gruff. No decorum.

  • @klyana130 Funny - you are dead on!!! Accurate - I really like Diane Sawyer --- she does great interviews.

  • eh.

  • Thank you SO MUCH for posting!!

  • @Anna27051962 LOL - what a load of BS. Do you write fiction as a profession or just for the heck of it?

  • You can be the most perfect person of the world, there always people to criticize you, one reason why they do that? Only because of jealousy for people who had really done something in their life.

  • @Barbara723Belgium - so true!! There are people who didn't like Mother Teresa. Not much to be done about people like that.

  • @amylh322 i'm sorry but Grace Kelly is no mother Teresa!

  • @jimmymoonless I see right through you like you're bathing in Windex, why are you so obsessed with Grace Kelly? So oh oh oh oh

No seriously, why do you keep coming to this video? ... are you looking for a argument? You REALLY seem to dislike.... no... HATE her, I suggest you watch arrested development, much better for your heart

  • @eleanorfan1990 i always check back videos i saw in case there were some interesting opinions being posted. And yes, I was super curious to see why such boring, overrated actress can be so popular. I just read the bio by Spoto and I still decide that she's overrated and boring and a slut but I know why some people still like her. It's the general public after all. Everybody has his own taste. Don't worry I'm through. She's not worth my argument no more :)

    Bye!

  • @jimmymoonless mwah ;)

  • @eleanorfan1990 jimmymoonless is a moron.

  • @jimmymoonless should have been in the first place

  • @jimmymoonless You are a bloody ignorant idiot and how dare you call her what you did. Check your 'google' history and think before you post such comments . WTF would you know anyway????

  • @nicoletta067 don't be so rude. i didn't show any disrespect to you. Only I don't respect Grace Kelly, and it's all morally alright. She's no angel or god to me. She's still a slut to me and I have the right to say so.

  • @jimmymoonless What a chuvanist bigot you are.

  • @jimmymoonless Crap!

  • @MajSolo Grace Kelly is a crappy, slut and boring actress

  • @jimmymoonless *sigh* Why are you back? Damn, you are soooooo easily provoked! From now on, comments will be posted *after* i approved them... I'm no dictator, so you can talk about her "silly accent", "shitty acting", etc just don't post dumb ass comments like this one

  • @jimmymoonless "boring, overrated actress" ??! we put people like you in asylums :)

  • @eleanorfan1990 "bathing in Windex"? LOL I gotta use that one!

  • This was only a few months before she died. She was so beautiful!

  • @coralarch - inside and out!!

  • @Anna27051962 your so right, I agree a 100%

  • Whatever she had, she was simply born into. Riches, beauty, charm, fame: all pure luck. As an individual human being, was she better than the rest of us plain hard-working people? Why people worship her I will never understand.

  • @HAZIDEAD - worship? I love her, she was very special but i save my worship for G-d.

She worked hard to get away from the "born rich" situation - she didn't ask to be a Kelly. You simply sound envious.

  • @amylh322. First, if you worship God that is surely be a positive thing. Second, yes, I am definitely envious - I am honest enough to admit it. Third, I personally love her and find watching her not only captivating but I was extremely impressed by her depth and intelligence in the interviews with her.

But she was born in to all that - not only rich, but also beautiful, charming, intelligent and that special grace.

Interestingly you haven't refuted one single word of what I actually said.

  • how she die?

  • @crizilla138 Princess Grace of Monaco suffered a small stroke while driving through terrible roads (high up on cliff walls, many hairpin turns, and for some inane reason, no guard rails). Her car fell - the pictures will just break your heart - off the cliff. Her daughter miraculously lived but Grace was injured and was taken to a primitive hospital where she later died.

  • She seems kind of drugged and bored out of her mind...

  • She doesn't sound that English, it's more like a Boston Brahmin, or an old-stock upper class Philadelphia accent, while she wasn't born with it is not so pretentious.

  • The man interviewing her is Pierre Salinger. I believe he was JFK's press secretary.

  • athenstar10- She was all-American. Born and raised in Philly. I mean, if you say that, then every American wouldn't be all-American, because we all started out someplace else. What a stupid thing to say. I don't like the phony british accent tho', where did that come from? Even her kids speak with pure, plain American accents, no Frenchy at all. I'm reading her bio right now. It's pretty good. She was an ok actress, not great. Hard to believe she would be 80 now. I wonder what she'd look like?

  • I agree with jimmymoonless, there's something incredibly boring about Grace Kelly.

Regarding her morality, yes it's true that she's generally considered a slut. She bedded many co-stars, many of them were married. They're all in their biographies and ...everywhere. It may or may not true, but if she is really an angel like Audrey Hepburn, no one would write such things about her.

    As an actress, she's plain.

  • @LandonWinsdor - You are one of those impossible people who would have hated Mother Teresa.

There are easily 20 books about Princess Grace - she was anything but boring. Maybe you just like video games or action movies?

  • @amylh322 to each his own. She bores me every time on screen and I tried hard to like her without success. I hate video games! I'm a pianist. I do like great classic actresses such as Bette Davis and Vivien Leigh and many others, just not Grace Kelly. She didn't deserve her oscar! She had good career by being in good films, not because being exceptional. One of the most overrated actresses of the golden era, and yes..boring!

  • @amylh322 - Why do you call people who don't like Grace Kelly impossible? They have the right to right? For me she's no saint, no mother Teresa and a boring actress and personality. And I'm a human being with absolutely good soul and heart too. She's just not my cup of tea. There's nothing wrong with that.

  • She'd be 80 if she was still alive! wow

  • Elegant, very beautiful, classy lady who truly lived a dream life and died a tragic death much too soon.

  • The interviewer has such a vulgar demeanor. The way he talks to her it seems like he's berating her.

  • Why does she seem to speak with more of an English accent than an American accent? Is she not American?

  • she's all-american. a lot of actresses like to use fake british accents

  • she's not all-american, she's european by blood but grew up in america. Theater school made her accent a bit british.

  • she's half Irish half German but grew up in Philadelphia,PA. I think it's because she went to a theater school in NY and they made her drop that philadelphian accent she had before.

  • When she entered theater school they trained her to drop her philadelphian accent

  • She is gorgeous. I love her voice!

  • grace Kelly was very neat and polite but the interviewer sounds and looks like a mess.

  • @jillbert40 you are wrong, grace was not given a speech coach, she was told that to get anywhere in film she had to lose her accent, grace then purchased english records of speech to perfect her near british accent, no studio helped her, just shows that not even her own country could be bothered with her in her native accent, what a vein country america is.

  • I don't think there is anyone who can compare to Princess Grace. Her beauty was natural, she was eloquent and caring, elegant and yet so nromal for such an extraordinary woman. Incomparable.

  • Botox helps Madonna

  • lets see wat u people look like at 52

  • She sounds like a Connecticut wasp to me.

  • She did not age well at all!

Grace was 52 when she died.....the same age as Madonna is now.

but Grace looked much much older

  • I think she is more beautiful. She has class, and Madonna is a disgusting stinky skank!

  • sleeping around to get the oscar is not class

  • can u sleep around and get the oscar?

  • All big stars could. Only some did and some didn't. Grace Kelly was one of those who did. I just meant to say, it's ridiculous when Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe were branded whores while Grace Kelly was titled the ultimate classy lady simply because of her image as this elegant white virginal blonde princess, while in fact she was more of a whore than them all. And I questioned her talent as I watched all of her films and she was boring as an actress.

  • @ jimmymoonless It breaks my heart that Judy didn't get the oscar, but please refrain from calling women whores (for being sexually active). Thank you

  • I'm very sorry if I offended you. But I didn't call women whores for being sexually active, I only call a woman whore when she uses sex to get going with her career. And what annoys me the most is, she's still labeled one classy lady.

Judy Garland indeed did deserve the oscar. Grace Kelly knew that herself

  • Please supply evidence with such heinous claims.

Plus, the Acadamy loves gimmicks, they love it when actors get dirty/fat for roles. I can't imagine the reaction way back when 'OMGZ HOLLYWOOD CLAZZY LADY GRACE KELLY1!' performed with NO make-up (remember, we are talking about the fifties), so I don't understand why people are still so flabbergasted by her win

  • I'm surprised by her win because in my opinion she didn't deserve it. It's politics. But it's ok since the Academy has stated that they don't necessarily give out oscars for acting talent. Makeup or no makeup, she's plain as a personality. Besides the whore part, I still don't understand why people call her extraordinary. In what? Makes me laugh.

Sorry, I don't hate her. I just don't care about her. All I'm curious about is how her admirers explain her being exceptional.

  • Again with the "whore" accusation, where's your evidence? Post mortem biographies?

Look at all these comments, she evokes something in people. I'm sorry you can't see it, but it's def there. A lot of people have tried to emulate her (esp basic bitch Gwyneth Paltrow) but there's only one!

  • following my last comment: the public is evoked. That's fine! But they're evoked by the wrong image. They worship her as if she was a saint or something while she's far from being one.

It would make more sense to me if people love Grace Kelly as she really was and stop that nonsense, "oscar winning actress and classy princess of Monaco"

  • I'm sorry, but nothing of that statement rings false to me.

I have no blindfold on. I've never thought of her as this great actress. People like her because she was stunning, held herself with dignity, wonderful in Hitchcock movies, dressed marvellously and seemed to have a beautiful soul.

And even if those rumores are true, let me quote the great Ludracris: "A lady on the streets, but a freak in the sheets." The perfect woman as far as I'm concerned.

  • @eleanorfan1990 : Oh I think I have a different concept of perfect woman. I want a smashing woman with lots of brains and an unique persoanlity. Not a boring actress who is used properly.

Thank you for the comment. I think I can see why she's very popular now while many more interesting actresses are so less known. The public is too easily evoked with their illusion of dignity and classiness. That's why!

  • when someone calls grace a whore, they mean it.

she had affairs with many men who were married, had families, AND were at least 20 years older than her. and when i say many, i mean MANY

this doesn't make sense because she was close to her father, so i wonder why she looked for so many daddy figures

  • Some women/men are attracted to older men, there doesn't have to be some underlying reason.

And again, keyword: evidence. If you have it, put it on the table. If not, stop spreading lies. Bye x

  • @eleanorfan1990 She wasn't a perfect human being just like noone is, just because you idolize her doesn't mean you have to defend her pitfalls. She doesn't need your help sweetheart.

  • Nor have I ever claimed that... It offends me as a human being when people spout out sexist remarks and untruths (especially when they can't defend themselves any more).

  • @eleanorfan1990 just one think to say, you ever knew her, and don't know who exactly she was, so please evoid your silly comments. For her memory and her family who is still suffer for her. How can you judge someone without really know who she was.

  • @eleanorfan1990 - THANK YOU!

This all goes back to a man named Don Richardson. When i finally tracked him down and found he had just died, i stopped researching, left my web site/book deal... he is the source of 99% (her younger sister Lizsanne being the rest) of the lies told about this generous, funny, woman who adored people and was hurt by many.

  • @listentome94 - Prove it.

I have researched her life for decades and all of the stories go back to ONE SOURCE, a jilted, pissed off ex boyfriend who was her teacher and should have stayed away from her in the first place.

You all need to remember that this is a human being! That she still has a family, both in Monaco and here in the States, who LOVE HER. None of these accusations were made until she was dead , therefore unable to defend herself.

  • @amylh322 that would be nice if it was true.

aside from the fact that the A&E bio says she slept with several of her leading men (most of whom were about 30 years older than her) i have seen candid pictures of her showing affection with ray in public (holding hands) these men had been married to their wives since before she was even born and she just had to sleep with them.

i know her sister and kids love her what does that hav to do with it

  • @Yankeegator Madonna has a smelly bottom!!

  • You need glasses. Madonna is a gym girl, wich is not bad at all, she has a helluvabody, but in beauty she's nothing compared to the princess.

  • Honestly Her health took a bad turn when she was 50. If you look at pictures from when she was 50 to 52 you can tell. It wasn't age. She was still too beautiful for words

  • And P.S...Madonna? Really? Sharon Stone is a great 50-something year old looking women. Madonna looks...interesting...comparing Madonna to THE Grace? Too Funny.

  • Older than Madonna???

    With or without Photoshop?

  • Thats coz... Grace aged gracefully... unlike Madonna and a lot of ppl these days who refuse to age....

  • Grace grew up with a Philadelphian accent. When she went into acting, they gave a speech coach to change the way she spoke. Her family would make fun of her new "posh" way of speaking thereafter. It did change even more after years of living in Monaco.

  • No byan85

Thanks for noting--i didn't express myself well.

I meant that she spoke English in the manner that Europeans do when they learn English as a second language.

VERY well enunciated, but not like an Englishwoman.

  • She's a bit posh.

  • She spoke with a slightly affected accent in Rear Window. i think she loved sounding cultured and sophisticated, Obviously, after 26 years in Monaco, her English became even more "continental".

  • 'Continental' English = British?

  • what i could never understand is that grace is american yet she aways had a british accent. if you think its just cus she was in monco look at her in Rear Window in 1954 before she married she had a british accent then to.

  • @BeeABaw I think that's because she went to a theater school in NY which trained her to have that accent. I was able to watch a bio of her here in youtube.

  • she didn't deserved that oscar !!!!!!!!!

  • @nandesneto LOL This argument will never end

  • Pierre Salinger is not a great enunciator, nor does he have the vocal or visual grace of his interviewer. You'd think one could come up with better.

  • '[...] nor does he have the vocal or visual grace of his interviewer.'

Well, she's the former Hollywood actor...

  • is he wearing a toupee?
