  • It's not good to put the monkey eating eagle in a different place even though the climate and weather conditions are the same. The Haribon is a very powerful eagle and it will hunt down most species. There will also be problems because they will be a type of invasive species. There will also be a problem with them because some natural predators which control the population of the eagles may not exist and the Haribon can wipe out other species in the area.

  • @Ruonne94 That is why I said; " A serious study is needed to.learn on the effect or impact to the ecological balance IF ever this eagle is introduced". It's not such a bad idea this is often do when they need to control over population of some species that may cause imbalance to the ecosystem... the eagle hunt only what it needs for the day and It has a very slow brood only one chick it rears every two or three years.

  • Looks exactly like Al Pacino.

  • There have been serious talks of introducing them to Amazon forests. But then, there would be aerial war dogfight against the Harpy's, so it was put on hold due to environmental and ecological balance issues.

  • @Billabongs122988 - For me, I think It's better If they would introduced the Philippine monkey eating eagle to the neighboring South-east Asian Forests with the same type of forest and climate like in Sarawak or Sabah, Malaysia or Indonesia where monkeys and flying lemurs are plentiful... However the environmental impact and ecological balance will always be an issue.

  • @iyakabud

That's actually a better idea than introducing them to Amazon rainforest, but the problem with that is the faster rate of deforestation in the island of Borneo than in Mindanao/Luzon/Samar. Forests there have been hastily converted to palm plantations specially in Kalimantan, Indonesia. In Malaysian States of Sabah & Sarawak forests have been cleared for residential living and expansion of current palm plantations.

  • @Billabongs122988 - Well... Malaysia and Indonesia Has one of the Largest and oldest (130 M years) Rainforest in the world next to the Amazon, I think there is still enough forests cover to accommodate this Giant raptor although a serious study is needed to.learn on the effect to the ecological balance IF ever this eagle is introduced.

  • BTW- There was a pending claim of the PHILIPPINES to SABAH, (Malaysian States of Sabah) long ago which is a Part of the Philippine territory. I just don't know If it still being pursued by the Philippine government But that's another topic anyway... = )

  • @iyakabud

Yup the owner of Sabah is the Philippines, Malaysia still pays a monthly rent to the Sultanate of Sulu of just $1000k+. There's a recent interview of the Sulu sultan encouraging the Phil president to once again claim Sabah. Phil will no doubt win the case in International court even if they would send law students lol but Malaysia always snubs and doesn't even bother to send any delegates and turns a blind ear when they hear about the sabah issue.

  • @iyakabud yeah? and what would our irresponsible government do with the territory if it was acquired? sell logging and mining rights probably. we can't even protect the habitat of our own national bird. unfortunately we do not have conservation in our culture. the poor/uneducated will hunt and eat any animal they can catch while the rich rape our land and natural resources only to get richer.

  • @5ive10 - The Philippine Eagle Foundation and its partners like the Peregrine Fund, Birdlife Intrn'l, WWF and many other local NGO's have adapt many projects to help and educate people esp. areas where the eagles are found to protect and save the eagle and the Forest habitat, a community-based information dissemination to the importance of the eagle to the ecosystem and all the animals in the forest and also created livelihood to help people as some were deputized to protect the eagle.

  • I think it caught a squirrel.

  • @thewebcatsmeow a monkey's tail

  • @10rosegarden14

    actually less than 200

  • @10rosegarden14

It's illegal to kill a Philippine Eagle. Are you suggesting the government subsidize breeding and upkeep for them?

  • @10rosegarden14 they live in the rainforest and considering theres still 50%+ of the rainforest we havent discovered there could be many more of them then just 500 but yes i do agree we should protect them

  • @10rosegarden14 The Philippine government should improve on a lot of things.

  • @10rosegarden14 People are too busy worrying about who Snookie is fucking to care about the shit that really matters......

  • Hello my name is William.I have a filipina wife and she is from Montalban Rizal. Is this majestic eagle able to be seen in montalban. Also I love al kinds of wildlife. Can somebody tell me what I have to look forward to seeing in montalban as we have a home there. You can E-mail me at williamackeret@yahoo.com. THANK You

  • @megadaddybrian

You can't see 'em there. Go farther/hike up north east in the Sierra Madre Mountains which are elevated at least a thousand meters above sea level. But it's not safe coz there are communist insurgency there, rebel infested areas.

  • @megadaddybrian I guess there are a few eagles in that area, but you best head to Davao City in their conservation area. I'm looking forward to see them too.

  • @megadaddybrian It'll be hard to see them in the wild too for they're endangered, but there's avilon zoo in montalban if I'm not makin' a mistake, I'm sure you'll find one there.

  • When does it eat the monkey?

  • What a lovely eagle! I hope their population can recover, like that of American Bald Eagles.

  • i've seen one before. Its the rarest bird. AND also the king of the birds

  • such a beautiful eagle. i hope it rises again in population

  • Cool it eats monkeys...my new favorite bird!

  • lol wtf is this music?

  • classic game of pin the tail off the monkey.

  • kamuka ni omaya sheet

  • at least the song is not 'let the bodies...'

  • I just find out the Philippine Eagle is the biggest sorry wrong word I used I just read in a book called Matanglawin that a ornithologist proved that the Philippine Eagle is the biggest eagle in the world

  • @tintin8ify - WRONG! Dude! It depends on what you are looking for Largest in size or weight?

In ZOOLOGY the HEAVIEST specie considered to be the LARGEST!

Steller's sea-eagle is the HEAVIEST eagle in the world! averaging 6.8 - 9 kg SO It's the Largest! There was a large wild female gorged itself with salmon and tips the scale at 28 lb.

Harpy eagle ave. 18 lb The second largest eagle in the world!

Philippine eagle ave. 17 lb But In terms of size or physical dimensions It is the LARGEST!

  • @zethaw your WRONG,

The average weight of the stellar eagle make it the heaviest eagle but the Phillipine eagle's maximum weigth can surpass all other eagles in the world.

second, a average Stellar eagle is neither larger or stronger than the Harpy and Phillipine forest eagles.

both of them has way more powerfull talons than the Stellar (3 times more powerfull than the strongest man). and can carry up prey 3 times the weight of there own.

Stellar still end up 3th place when it comes the size

  • @Stridus7 - I agree with you But in Zoology the Heaviest specie is considered as the Biggest or Largest specie. So the Steller's sea-eagle is the largest eagle. :)

  • Comment removed

  • hey hey watch your mouth everyone no offence. The Philippine Eagle is the biggest eagle in the world it was about the height if an 4 yrs. old child

  • It's a monkey's tail! flying lemurs have a webbed feet running along the side of it's body with a very short tail. It's from a Philippine macaque or Philippine long-tailed macaque - one of the longest tail monkey in the world It's tail is longer than it's body length and It's the only endemic monkey specie in the Philippines.

  • it's not a tail of a monkey. it's a flying lemur.

  • wat is the music called i like the beat...awsome music...

  • grabe ka talaga philippine eagle!!!!!!!!!!

  • how tall does it stand? cuz the harpie eagle also eats monkeys & stands 1 - 1.5 meters tall

  • @117Equinox 1.5 meter? There is no living eagle specie that could reached 1.5 meter tall... The Philippine eagle is the Tallest and longest eagle averaging 1.02 meter in length and a meter in height with the largest wing-surface area among all the eagle specie. Steller's sea-eagle is the Heaviest and Harpy eagle is the bulkiest in relation to it's body size.

  • @zethaw not according to recent documentrys.... wild harpie eagles have been spotted at about 1.5m tall... programs showing in Nat Geo about it
