    no handling issue.. runs good!

  • sweet!!! my '79 wagon is soon to have a 4.0L and a supercharger

  • Badass! Check out the vids of my V8 Mustang II.

  • Nice!

  • What a waste of engineering. Fail!

  • @TheFallenWon What do you mean fail?

  • @sidewinderpinto young kids don't get it...you had to be alive then.

  • @fortytons im 21 and i fully understand. if your talking about the v8 pinto swap thing anyway. it makes perfect sense 2000 pounds and 525 hp means goes like friggin hell! but dont try to get one to handle with a v8 way too nose heavy but you already knew that. very surprised this one didnt do a wheelie tho.

  • Put a little (A LITTLE!!!!) pinion angle in it. You've got it going pretty straight, so I know you've had some seat time in it. A little, (And again a stress A LITTLE!!!!!!) Pinion angle will make it squat more.

Too much will make it stand on it's ass, and point at the sky! Crowd loves it. Don't win drag races! Don't try to get it all in one adjustment. Sneak up on it and run the car between changes to see what you've got.

Remember!! A LITTLE pinion angle! Like half a degree at a time!

  • iv been running this car for 8 yrs so yes i have some seat time. im going to try it for the next test and tune day. im assumeing your pointing down correct?

how will this make the car stand up?

  • Pointing the pinion angle down puts preload on the suspension. When power is thrown to the rear end, the pinion tries to point up.

If the rear end is held in place by a four link, the rear of the end car will squat, the front end comes up, and the car takes off.

If it is is sprung with leaf springs, (without traction bars), the rear end will snap back down from the recoil and cause wheel hop.

In the slo-mo shot I noticed your car was picking the rear, and the front up.

  • i have leaf springs with traction bars

  • Slappers, or links with spring sliders?

  • slappers

  • Im putting a 289 in my 77 and theres not a lot of trouble doing it.

  • yeah I like it. was it hard to put the V8 in there? :]

  • Not too bad. It was a lot of work and it took a lot of time. We had to make everything. Engine mounts, radiator mounts, exhaust, ect.
