I use Armani Luminous Silk Foundation on Leona which is beautiful and I also use Daniel Sandler Watercolour in Truth on her cheekbones to highlight. It depends what your skin tone is regarding a luminizer; if you're dark you will need something quite golden. Pop into a MAC store as they're usually great at recommending the perfect products!

@Cupcake4me Hi and thanks for our lovely comment! Actually I didn't use blue in that scene on Forgive Me; I used Black but it had a shimmer which must have made it look blue! Also, after the whole video was shot they graded it so all the colours were really pumped up. I was quite surprised when I saw it tbh because in the flesh it didn't look like that. Hey ho - you never know how these things will turn out after they've been tweaked in post production. Glad you liked it anyway x

@hope4odo Hi - eventually I hope to do a video for darker skins and when I do I'll let you know. There isn't enough room here to give tips but I recommend this book 'The Beauty of Color' by Iman which is the best I have found. Her make up range is great as are Bobbi Brown stick foundations and also MAC bases. Becca do great concealers in a huge array of shades too so you're bound to find one to match perfectly. Dark skins benefit hugely from contouring and highlighting so do try this. Good luck!
Which powder do you use in the video "Leona Lewis Backstage At The BRITs" under the eyes of Leona Lewis to make them to lighten up? You use the powder from a black palette. It looks very nice, very fresh!
@msndb I use the MAC sculpting powders from the Pro stores only so find one of these as concessions don't stock these products. I put them in a MAC palette which you buy seperately. Glad you liked it so thank you very much!
@MissMakeup015 You may be able to or if you are in the UK I could send you one as I have a few left. It's region 2 so if you're not in Europe you will need a multi region player. We're currently in the throes of making the DVD downloadable in its entirety and in sections too but this will take a little time so if all else fails you could wait a bit for us to do this. I am really pleased you like it though so thank you very much!
Unfortunately we had to discontinue our DVD due to the financial recession in the UK. However we are still looking at ways of relaunching it since it sold thousands of copies and had fantastic reviews. If and when this happens I will make sur and let you know. Thanks so much - Jane

Yes they are her real lashes. Curl your lashes by squeezing and releasing the curler a few times along the length of the lash. Apply WATERPROOF black mascara (Max Factor Aqua Lash is great) then beef up the lashes with a thicker mascara (Max Factor 2000 Calorie is also great) going back and forth from one eye to the other to achieve the required effect. Now just add a vibrant lip colour and you'll look instantly glamorous - simple!

Forget beauty schools; you need a dedicated Make-up school. I've had a look and I like the sound of the London School of Freelance Make-up which not only uses established artists as tutors bot also offers all sorts of great looking courses. Good luck! Jane

Hi there! With your colouring you would look equally good in both blues AND greens; keep the greens warm and add a touch of greeny gold liner underneath maybe. I mainly use shadows by MAC, Dior, Urban Decay, Nars and Stila as they have great pigments and staying power. Bobbi Brown do the best matt neutral shades. Use either MAC Paints or Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Eye Shadow as a base on which to apply powder shadow which will then last for hours without creasing AT ALL! Good luck - Jane

A mixture of of deep greens from Nars and vibrant greens Mac and Ruby & Millie; green pencils from Givenchy, a touch of black eye-shadow and black liner...highlighter was flesh tone. When in the gold dress it was black and golds!

The liner is by Shu Uemura and can be used on the eyes and lips although Becca make some fantastic double ended lip liners where one end is flesh toned and the other a 'colour' - I love them. The pink Mac lipstick? I'm not sure if you mean one featured on the 2hr DVD or on the YouTube trailer. The brush roll is from Screenface in London; you can buy online. Not familiar with Essentials taupe but just ensure it's matte and not shimmery at all. Best wishes Jane

Hi Jane, I've just received the dvd "Lips to Lashes" and I've watched it already 3 times now, so I really enjoy to watch it! Please what is the brand of the taupe eyeshadow and the small and large crease brushes with the purple lucite handles? Also of the pink/beige pencil and the flesh color pencil? Are these pencils also right for dark coloured women? It looks like the makeup box you use looks different than most makeup cases I've seen. Please can you give me the name of it? Many thanks!!!!
Thank you so much we love such lovely feedback! The taupe shade is 'Taupe' by Bobbi Brown and the lucite brushes are by Laura Mercier who make really fantastic brushes in the best shapes. The pink/beige pencil is Mac's 'Spice'. Darker skin tones need darker lip pencils really; try mid to dark browns to line the lips then add your favourite lipstick then blend the edges in. Iman do great shades for darker skin tones! The box is from Screenface in London so check them out online. Good luck!!

However, we chose these girls as they were the easiest faces to demonstrate these techniques on; this video is not a 'makeover' video it is an instructional video so that anybody can learn how to apply make up properly and choose colours and brushes in the way a professional does.
Not all that impressed - the girls you're working on have exceptional skin, features, and bone structure. Let see you transform an average to below average face, instead of someone who's already good looking without makeup.

First time I have watched this..Great Vid. I want to be a make up artist as well and when you said about the being an actress or something glamous..Thats like me :D Im starting a course in bromsgrove college doing theatrical make up and special effects and I'm very excited so glad I watched this video hope im as good as you one day. @hope4odo Hi - eventually I hope to do a video for darker skins and when I do I'll let you know. There isn't enough room here to give tips but I recommend this book 'The Beauty of Color' by Iman which is the best I have found. Her make up range is great as are Bobbi Brown stick foundations and also MAC bases. Becca do great concealers in a huge array of shades too so you're bound to find one to match perfectly. Dark skins benefit hugely from contouring and highlighting so do try this. Good luck!

@msndb I use the MAC sculpting powders from the Pro stores only so find one of these as concessions don't stock these products. I put them in a MAC palette which you buy seperately. Glad you liked it so thank you very much!

@MissMakeup015 You may be able to or if you are in the UK I could send you one as I have a few left. It's region 2 so if you're not in Europe you will need a multi region player. We're currently in the throes of making the DVD downloadable in its entirety and in sections too but this will take a little time so if all else fails you could wait a bit for us to do this. Unfortunately we had to discontinue our DVD due to the financial recession in the UK. However we are still looking at ways of relaunching it since it sold thousands of copies and had fantastic reviews. If and when this happens I will make sur and let you know. Thanks so much - Jane

Hi and thanks for buying the DVD! The pencil is by Shu Uemura in shade 01 if I remember rightly...anyway it's the only flesh tone pencil they do!

Yes they are her real lashes. Curl your lashes by squeezing and releasing the curler a few times along the length of the lash. Apply WATERPROOF black mascara (Max Factor Aqua Lash is great) then beef up the lashes with a thicker mascara (Max Factor 2000 Calorie is also great) going back and forth from one eye to the other to achieve the required effect. Now just add a vibrant lip colour and you'll look instantly glamorous - simple!

Hi - there is a section on my DVD 'Lips to Lashes - make-up with Jane Bradley' which talks about kit. The clip here on YouTube is a snippet from the DVD but unfortunately at the moment we are unable to do more as this was a very costly production. However, you're right, I should maybe do some little simple tutorials...food for thought...thanks!! Jane

Forget beauty schools; you need a dedicated Make-up school. I've had a look and I like the sound of the London School of Freelance Make-up which not only uses established artists as tutors bot also offers all sorts of great looking courses. Good luck! Jane

useful video as it certainly taught me a few tips about how to apply makeup. it should be recommended for all future makeup artists like me. it also tells you what you need for your basics. so i would give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Hi there! With your colouring you would look equally good in both blues AND greens; keep the greens warm and add a touch of greeny gold liner underneath maybe. I mainly use shadows by MAC, Dior, Urban Decay, Nars and Stila as they have great pigments and staying power. Bobbi Brown do the best matt neutral shades. Use either MAC Paints or Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Eye Shadow as a base on which to apply powder shadow which will then last for hours without creasing AT ALL! Good luck - Jane

A mixture of of deep greens from Nars and vibrant greens Mac and Ruby & Millie; green pencils from Givenchy, a touch of black eye-shadow and black liner...highlighter was flesh tone. When in the gold dress it was black and golds!

Hi there! Wow what a fresh and helpful dvd!! I have some questions about some make-up you use, I hope you can help me: You show a flesh colour eye liner, which you also use for the lips, pls which brand is it? And the pink Mac lipstick? The brush roll, it is so big, pls where can you buy it? I read on one of the comments here, you use Bobbi Brown taupe eye shadow, I have the B.B. taupe from the Essentials collections, is this simmler?

The liner is by Shu Uemura and can be used on the eyes and lips although Becca make some fantastic double ended lip liners where one end is flesh toned and the other a 'colour' - I love them. The pink Mac lipstick? I'm not sure if you mean one featured on the 2hr DVD or on the YouTube trailer. The brush roll is from Screenface in London; you can buy online. Not familiar with Essentials taupe but just ensure it's matte and not shimmery at all. Best wishes Jane

Hi Jane, I've just received the dvd "Lips to Lashes" and I've watched it already 3 times now, so I really enjoy to watch it! Please what is the brand of the taupe eyeshadow and the small and large crease brushes with the purple lucite handles? Also of the pink/beige pencil and the flesh color pencil? Are these pencils also right for dark coloured women? It looks like the makeup box you use looks different than most makeup cases I've seen. Please can you give me the name of it? Many thanks!!!!

Thank you so much we love such lovely feedback! The taupe shade is 'Taupe' by Bobbi Brown and the lucite brushes are by Laura Mercier who make really fantastic brushes in the best shapes. The pink/beige pencil is Mac's 'Spice'. Darker skin tones need darker lip pencils really; try mid to dark browns to line the lips then add your favourite lipstick then blend the edges in. Iman do great shades for darker skin tones! The box is from Screenface in London so check them out online. Good luck!!

However, we chose these girls as they were the easiest faces to demonstrate these techniques on; this video is not a 'makeover' video it is an instructional video so that anybody can learn how to apply make up properly and choose colours and brushes in the way a professional does.
