  • sorry.. i don´t know speak in english... i will try it.... who could tell me how can i watch this series or movie? the name of he director or the actors?

  • best love story EVER!

  • a kick ass movie.. it kicks forever I adore it..

  • serena gordons acting is just plain terrible. she shows no emotion throughout the whole movie like the real lucie manette.

  • @iluvmysasuke298 well, yeah, for the most part... but James Wilby as Sydney makes up for it and then some, i should think :D

  • can you upload this whole series?

  • WAH! I've always imagined it this way when I read the book. But it was more emotional.... James Wilby needs to get into the character more than what he did here.

  • I wish they made a new version of this movie because it would be truly epic it is such an amazing story!

  • That face, that voice, these words....killing me softly...

  • Как прекрасен Джеймс Уилби в этой роли! Замечательная экранизация!

  • I would be totally absorbed into this scene, one of my favorite scene in all history of literature, had it not been the blank expression on Lucy's face....What on earth is this woman doing here?!

  • I LOVE the Character of Sydney Carton.... in the Movie and in the Book as well! A wonderful man with only ONE vice... alcohol. He was the true example of "There is no grater Love than giving one's life up for a friend!"

  • Sydney makes me sigh! I love this character so much. It's my favorite in all books. This is a very well-done scene

  • I recomend that people read the book BEFORE watching the movie. This is a VERY well done movie and is one of the closest movie adaptations of a book i have ever had the pleasure of watching. But the book offers a lot more insight to characters' emotions and reasons for certain behaviors

  • To those who don't understand, Sydney Carton was a underachiever and a drunk. He knew this, but never had a reason to change. Carton also gave no sign that he liked Lucie until this moment, after she was engaged to Charles Darnay. So, It wasn't that Lucie was shallow. She made a good choice, Darnay was an excellent man. Carton's nobility was just buried under years of not caring and cheap wine, It took a while to emerge.

  • my favorite character in literature

  • i wish they'd kept the line how it originally was..."a life you love"

    beautiful scene though

  • idk why, but i don't care much for main characters, i love supporting characters a whole lot more for some reason, i'm obsessed with Jerry Cruncher

  • WHERE CAN I FIND THIS MOVIE!?!?! I NEED IT TO PASS HIGH SCHOOL!!!!

  • is this the movie based on charles dickens book? i have to read this book for the summer and write a report but the introduction and first chapter seems like its written in code or something. :) help please

  • i love the book. but unless im mistaken this seen was suposed to take place in her room with him leaning on a table still best novel of all time

  • That's the power of love alright. Grip you right out from the very jaws of death and every other fear that exists.

  • No she isn't shallow. Had she been anything other than she was he wouldn't have been inspired to say those words.

  • LUCIE IS SOO SHALLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • As there seems to be an overzealous moderator at work, just a query as to why my previous two posts were deleted. Just a hint, at least.

  • I am not a fan of Charles Darnay.

    Sydney Carton FTW!!!!!

  • @summerloverkid WHERE CAN I FIND THIS MOVIE!?!?! I NEED IT TO PASS HIGH SCHOOL!!!!

  • @Deadlywaterboy On Netflix

  • I wonder how the speech would have gone if she didn't look like so FREAKIN CUTE.

  • Always follow this simple rule.

Always have 5 reason why someone is so worthy of such devotion as he has given her.

  • I believe in the end he allows himself to be beheaded so that she can run off with her ol'man. (if i remember right) and he never got any pussy. Ain't that a bitch?!

  • I can't tell you hpw many times i said shit like that to girls yrs ago. Being a skilled painter and sculptor and accomplished pianist who loved to play Chopin. But the girls always ended up telling me how i'd find someone better than them, and i later find they screw the dude down the street who said simply. " i wanna fuck your brains out". Women!

  • @itsmister2u whoa, easy there ^_^() females are certainly not all like that. sad fact that such creatures do exist, on both sides, but... the good ones are out there too. ive always thought the tough part was in actually finding the latter kind, and holding on to them. havent managed it yet either. hope you do soon. under all that bitterness, i think theres a very interesting person. painter, sculptor, pianist? impressive, indeed. only in my imagination would i ever have such talent

  • @CassandraMotou i wasrelating to myself 20 yrs ago. i'm far more able to make better choices in who to persue in love. and who not to.

  • @itsmister2u glad to hear it :D it would be a waste, otherwise

  • This is just...wow. It really rips your heart out. The 1989 version is definitely my favorite rendition of A Tale of Two Cities! Thank you so much for uploading. :)

  • it's The Tales of Two Cities Series 1989

  • Can someone please tell me what version this is, who made it and and what year?

  • o...this breaks my heart many years ago when I read the book, now it breaks it again

  • . This breaks my heart! It took me back to when i read the novel. The best novel ever

  • you know, im absolutely addicted to this story, and this version in particular. why? Sydney Carton. Serena Gordon as Lucie is kind of "eh" most of the time (though she does have her moments), but James Wilby's Sydney is just as I pictured him in the book. wow. many thanks for the post :D fantastic scene, this

  • love the book, also love how they shortened their lines in the book up to the main points. :)

  • great story .. incredible scenario & lyrics ...awesome music ... i adore the English novels specially Charles Dickens... greetings from Egypt

  • thanks but anyone have any idea how to download the whole movie??

  • A marvellous production. James Wilby was fantastic.

  • So well done and moving, I must confess.

  • Heartbreaking! It looks like a lovely production. I MUST see it!

  • Many thanks for sharing this moving excerpt with us :)
