HOW DO I...

1) Disable the "STATE YOUR NAME" option and let them ring through?

If I don't know the number, it goes to VM so why bother with the STATE YOUR NAME BEC YOU'RE CALLING A GOOGLE NUMBER HA HA ON YOU option?

2) Get the text directly to my phone - not my email account.

3) Get the call directly to my phone. My own attempts (using a whole other phone - NOT the registered number one) to call my G# and I get the google VM. Not even a damn ring to my phone!

I just got GV# its a bitch to figure out everything, will it charge me to call my friends and or receiving any calls - Google please have a manual on line in plain and simple english. I'm not an Einstein nor a rocket scientist to figure this out what a waste.

If you want to add a phone number to your Google Voice account, click on the "gear" icon in the upper right hand side of your Google Voice account page (next to your name) once you have signed in. Then, select "Voice Settings," Click on "Add Another Phone" link and fill out the form, then click "save." You can then add any more after you finish that one. Once you have all of your numbers entered, you can check mark the appropriate boxes to tell Google Voice where to send your calls.

Until GV adds MMS, "one number" is still not entirely possible. In most other ways, this is the greatest service.

@mdz255 Google Voice uses your phones data lines or WiFi [if your phone has it], so if you are in a WiFi area or have an unlimited data plan - you are not using any minutes. The Voice forwarding option I would imagine still using minutes, if you are forwarding it to call your cell phone. Correct me, if I'm wrong.

@SuperJuzzy123 Yes, your old [original] phone / cell number will still work. Googles Voice uses forwarding as you would with an email. A call is placed to your Google Voice number, then you Google Voice calls your phone[s].

@edrocky I just got it and put in a request months ago, takes quite a while for them to get through all those requests.

@edrocky For me it took them quite some time, about 6 months or more I believe. Just put in a request and forget about it, you'll eventually get it. Then it's great and worth the wait. Hopefully someday it will be instantaneous, but I assume they are protecting themselves from people getting multiple accounts and draining their supply of numbers.
