Firearm owners have not had any freedoms taken away in Australia, A very very small group of people complained about our improved firearm regulations but most people favoured these.

No, not all. It is still quite legal for private citizens to own firearms and many do. With fewer firearms in total in the community it makes it more difficult for criminals to obtain firearms.

You also need to understand that the government who introduced the stronger gun laws didn't want to really do this. The people made them do this.

This was a case of the people telling the government what to do, not the other way round.
