what the point of complaining about "Guru Besar" title? its just a title that his student give him. he must be very skillful that why his student call him so. just respect each other and enjoy the art..

@KonFridayz the point is, in silat tradisional its very hard to be a GURU BESAR and it takes a lifetime dedication for teaching and spreading the RIGHT and the AUTHENTIC silat tradisional. SO IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW YOUR OWN CAPABILITY BEFORE SOMEONE BEING CALLED GURU BESAR

@kesel at my place "lifetime dedication for teaching",we called "GURU TUA"..title depend on the "perguruan" itself..maybe at some perguruan, title "GURU BESAR" same with "GURU MUDA" at other "perguruan"..Hmm i think, for their group, there must be higher title than GURU BESAR title...the GURU BESAR title must be refer to the leader of guru at one of their branch..so thats mean, there are many of GURU BESAR in their group..just ask themselves and stop look down to others

I'm curious with the training that you've done

On cimande we train our arm bone with special way, does your teacher train you to open coconut with your finger and break it with your arm?

If you claim yourself a GURU BESAR then you must be able to break coconut into pieces

Suggestion: Before putting Guru Besar in there. Make sure you notify why that is. The title Guru Besar is rare nowadays and they certainly don't walk around shouting they are such.

My teacher made me "Guru Besar". I've trained in the martial arts for 28 years, Silat Cimande for the past 16 years. Not sure what is funny as I take Silat Cimande training very seriously. Obviously, you do not, as anyone with Silat Cimande training would not make such a disrespectful post!?

Higot - Hubad - Lubad dude! LOL! FMAish! hahaha! I am an FMA practitioner that's why I know (btw, I am a Filipino - orig pinoy). I am currently working in Jakarta, Indonesia and I have a lot of Cimande practioner friends and I have not seen this from them! Just a piece of my thought!

If you're referring to the movements in the drill they are almost exactly the same as in the Filipino Martial Arts! Pencak Silat Cimande has the same movements within the jurus jurus and the drill is called Kelid Latihan! Their are some distinct difference between the Filipino and Indonesian versions however that are not apparent in the video! Thank you for watching and peace to you!

@dlhatch8 the 1st 5 jurus of Cimande Girang have all these movements in them this is LIGIT CIMANDE SILAT. its an old art that has pretty much every essential "MARTIAL ROOT MOTION " in it. Guru Jerry Is really one of the best exponents out there in Cimande in the West.
