Don't get me wrong, I definitely believe that women should have the exact same rights as men, they should be paid the same and viewed equally, i totally 100% agree...but I'm soooo tired of listening to these feminists. I'm sorry but all i hear is bitching over the smallest things. For example, there was a facebook "event" something about women making "their" boyfriend or whatever a sandwich day. yes i think it's stupid event in addition to it being a facebook thing but feminists went crazy

the perseption of beauty hasnt changed.. it's just easy to do touch ups nowadays. people who are sad about their looks complain about unrealistic expectations. the expectations of who? themselves? not everyone can be a super model so people who feel bad for not looking like whats in tv and in magazines are just being immature

You CANNOT Distort the perception of another. You can however influence the subconscious. This is entirely two different things.

My Argument stands: "Our perception of beauty is distorted" makes no sense and IS an oxymoron.

Perception is a personal outlook. Perhaps for the weak minded & easily influenced, these people are easily coerced into believing beauty is what others claim it to be.
IMHO the woman had natural beauty to begin with. The end product was simply more pronounced. Similar to a woman with tiny boobs, or big boobs, droopy, or perky. ""Beauty in the eye of the beholder" is an eternal truth.

our perception of beauty nowadays is so distorted because of how much we change our looks. if you think about, the beauty of someone is how they originally look, by adding make up and photoshopping it, it end up with nearly a different person, therefore meaning that our perception of someones beauty isnt what it really is

For most females, thier view is marred by (and sometimes unknowingly) by heavily photoshopped images.
Through this, a feeling / want to conform.

hmmmm.... can't speak for everyone out there, but what we see as being beautiful is not distorted at all. when you look at someone, you imediately evaluate them depending on their looks (obsevable phenotypes). this way, you are able to distinguish between good and bad genes. if someone is fit, it means they are able to have more healthy offspring and protect them better than someone who is unfit. this is the same in the wild, the stronger males reproduce more. its as simple as that...

actually what i said is quite a common belief amongst educated scientists, not a "ripoff"a discovery channel program. if you think im thinking too hard then you are mistaken. it's a lot more complicated for someone to develop the idea that the influence of the media is the culprit of our modern day view of beauty, than for them to understand that its just a matter of who's more healthy. just because i stated this with complicated terminology doesn't mean it's hard to comprehend...

They may try to make you believe that the world is perfect except for one thing that is missing: an efficient washing powder. They will make you frustrated in front of your colleagues, not having the last cell phone that can read bar codes on supermarkets or shave your beard...

The only real problem i see this having would be to people who compare themselves to others... of course that would mainly be teens, which would create a whole issue with eating disorders and such... Real beauty always has existed... most of us just can't see it. Everything is beautiful in one way or another, it's all in how you percieve things. And THAT'S the beauty of life.
