There is some contradiction here - in Mahabharat there is no mention of Duryodhan being made crown prince after the alleged death of Pandavs at Varnavat
I felt while watching that all youngsters should watch this series right after they turn 15 , so that they can understand and utilize the learnings while they are still in the age of inculcating values in themselves.

@Mrbrussel1 That's true. According 2 some scriptures, Ghandari was once married 2 a goat. After her marriage 2 the king, they sacrificed the goat. Once Dhridrashtra found out, out of anger he put Ghandari's family in prison & only gave them a handful of rice 2 eat. However, for revenge, Ghandari's father gave all the food 2 the youngest and that was Shakuni. It is said that Ghandari's father twisted Shakuni's foot & that is why he limps & to remind him of the revenge. How true is that not sure.
The story is the dice were made of bones of Bakasuur the demon whom Bhim had killed. Initially Bhim was supposed to play but the kauravas opposed it because the dice would behave as per what he said. So yudisthir was made to sit !
If Vidur had told everyone that Pandavas were alive, the decision to make Duryodhan as yuvraj would not have taken place. But I guess he didn't expect such a decision would be taken with out consulting him. Probably Bhishma was psychologically stressed out after lakshagruh incident ??
To avert calamity, Gandhari had to marry a goat before she married Dritarastra. The goat was slaughtered, so she, the goats widow, could lawfully wed dritarastra. But when the blind king found out years later, he put the whole royal family of gandhar in jail, at gave them a fistful of rice to survive on per day.
WHERE did you hear that? I've never heard that story before ... well ... I haven't properly seen this mahabharat either ... I'm seeing it carefully right now ... are you sure this is accurate?
And then Shakuni's dad told everyone to give their fistful of rise to shakuni to make sure that at least on of them survives. When Shakuni's dad died he told him to make dice out of his thigh bones...that's why the dice always get the numbers Shakuni asks for. It isnt shown in this version. But i have read this somewhere and heard this from family as well.
1) Shakuni isnt told to leave by cabinet members wasnt it a form of self defense for hastinapur?
2) who was ruling Shakuni's desh when he was away for all this time?
3) Krishna makes the pandavs return to hastinapur knowing full well where everything was leading to. But few episodes before, he himself turned away from war. He could have asked the pandavas to start their own desh like krishna did.
For 1), I was also suprised as Bheesma asks Karan to leave as he consider the matter to be discussed as a private family affari. However, for Shakuni, he allows him to attend the cabinet meeting to maintain the respect that he has for the guest. Was karan not a guest then?
I agree; he's a part of relative though not exactly in the family. However, the reason given by Bheeshma is not that he's in the relation but because he is a guest. That leaves Karan also in the same league; though as always he's never given the due respect that he deserved.
Because the mahabharat had to occur. If he woulve prevented it, than what would be Krishna's purpose for coming to earth from the celestial plane. Without the war there would be not GITA!! Its is all part of Bhagwan's leela. I know it sounds corny but that is the truth.
Why on BR Chopra's globe, North East of India isn't on India's map? Just as the film starts, 1 can see he took out N/E India out of the map. Is he suggesting something here! I'm from Tripura & I'm an Indian just as the others and I'm proud of being Indian and been born in Tripura which was an independent Indian state all the time in history. I do NOT want to see this kind stupidity done by a respected film director whose films make impacts on every Indian's. Correct the map please. Jay Hind!
@veereshagy that value went down the drain in the modern age, partly because the west depicts Hindus as "uncivilized" because they treated everyone respectfully. I believe Shakuni is a true representative of the west, who has no consideration for anything, he will not hesitate in destroying even his sister's family for his misplaced sense of insult.
@veereshagy Did you listen to the dialogues between Bheeshma & Ganga? (7:00...) Amazing display of the tough love stance taken by a mother to teach her son to face the consequences of his actions. You don't find this in any other religion or culture.
Thanks for the videos

Here's the proof where other culture is believed to have been absorbed/assimilated into Hinduism.
The worship of stone phallus still exist in Mongolia practiced by some tribe and Kirat(Indo-Mongoloid) people in Nepal also have the same practiced.

1) Shakuni isnt told to leave by cabinet members wasnt it a form of self defense for hastinapur?
2) who was ruling Shakuni's desh when he was away for all this time?

Just trying to understand and not ridiculing.

Keep in mind that Shakuni is Gandhari's brother. Thus makes him a part of the family.

1.He was a guest.
2. Probably his oldest son. His general took over Gandhar, but lost it in a dice game against Dhritrashtra. Shakuni played on his behalf.
3. Do you meen why did Vidur make them return?

'Not found in other cultures' is a very arrogant statement.
