  • i detected specimens, but in 18 years of carryin' a loupe and lookin' at pieces

of oxidized quartz picked up off the ground, off dumps, chip samples,

sluice concentrates, whatever, i never saw a solitary speck of gold in a rock

  • Theres this mountain in my grandfathers ranch in jalisco mexico where my family use mercury in a wheel turning barrel where it crushes the rocks and collect the gold in the bottom of drum, they collect between 36-52oz of gold everyday..u can say there rich, they been doing this for the past 36 years

  • I live in southern AZ near a lot of known placer gold producing areas. Particularly the southern portion. I just pick these same specimens up laying on the ground. full of color. Lots of copper, silver and sulfides as well. Any rockhound/prospector needs to get an eye lope around their neck so that you can id the real and the fools gold out in the field . Saves you the labor and aggravation. Don't ask me how I know this...LOL

  • Is gold always found with quartz crystals?

  • @ThePrayerHotline No, but if you find quartz there's a good chance of finding gold nearby. You can find chunks/nuggets of gold lying on top of the ground in some places. You don't even have to dig....just pick it up.

  • very cool. here in georgia we have some quartz with gold floating around in it. i will sometimes bring home a bucket of quartz to smash up to pan out for gold. always interesting to find gold running right up the middle of quartz

  • @chestateegold Hey friend, how about making a video of those quartz chunks for us novice to see what it looks like.

  • @ThePrayerHotline

im afraid that you will have to look up pictures, brothah. i dont have a camera

  • @chestateegold I am really serious in taking this prospecting in the near future and I am just arming myself with knowledge from people who are already on this. I have spent 10 years doing cache hunting on another country. skilled in reading treasure maps in coded korean/japanese treasure maps. Was after world war 2 war loots by invading forces. But now I want to try real mining/prospecting. Non of the booby traps and elaborate tunnels with signs. Have a good day and thanks for responding.

  • @ThePrayerHotline Look for rusty quartz....like he said in the video, you have to be careful not to mistake pyrite for gold; pyrite is glittery and brittle. If you can break the flakes, it ain't gold!

  • @TheSneakyboots thanks for taking time to guide me. Its getting too cold now for me to try out :~) But good Im accumulating information to arm me with knowledge so I dont waste my time when I actually try it. God bless you.

  • Very nice!
